  1. GCI was on the 2020 notice of commencement, furthermore they already did work earlier this year on racer.
  2. If that's true that's pretty bad for a 6 year old B&M..... I know silver bullet has also had some structural issues on the Cobra roll.
  3. Hope you enjoy your visit! If you plan on buying Fast Lane be sure to buy it in advance online as they’re not selling them in park.
  4. Here’s the thing about Paramount, they were able to theme the rides but they weren’t able to fit them into the parks atmosphere. Take Backlot for example, it’s a better themed coaster then anything CedarFair has built (at least on ride) however it completely ruined the looks of the surrounding area. Having a parking garage & shipping container themed coaster in the center of the park is a major eyesore. Another example of this is TRTR with its massive building in the middle of Rivertown. Cedar Fair on the other hand has been improving the atmosphere of entire areas of the park such as A72 & I-Street. I’ll take Cedar Fairs execution of themed attractions over Paramounts. I hope Cedar Fair & Park management continue to invest in renovating & theming areas of the park.
  5. The Kings Island Vortex Kits are now sold out according to the parks twitter account. None will be available for sale according to Chad Showalter's twitter account.
  6. Buying it only to turn around and sell it is so infuriating. I’d feel so bad if someone didn’t get to buy it this weekend all because someone wanted to make a quick buck.
  7. I mean we're in the middle of an economic recession, I don't think you need to spend $200 to prove that you loved Vortex. You can be a real coaster enthusiast without having to spend $200 on a 1.5 inch sliver of roller coaster track.
  8. Guess it really depends how many sets are for sale. I hope they have plenty so that everyone who wants one is able to get one.
  9. If they are planning to sell them online im assuming they'll have a lot for sale?
  10. Hope there will be enough supply. It would mean so much to me to buy Vortex track.
  11. To be honest I feel the exact opposite. The haunt decorations & scare zones play a huge role in the atmosphere imo. Restricting the decor to just the haunted houses would kill the halloween vibe for someone who just rode the rides and not visit the haunted houses. The scare zones for the most part look fine and play an important role in transforming the entire park into Haunt.
  12. If the event returns next year I really hope they have tents set up similar to grand carnival. The food lines yesterday looked to typically be 30 minutes+ which in my opinion makes it hard to justify waiting for a small portion sized item. The food does look fantastic though.
  13. I haven't been to the park in almost two months and Im planning on visiting next weekend. Would anyone who's recently gone care to share how social distancing and mask usage has been recently? Thanks!
  14. Seems like it’s permanent. Happy to see Kings Island to continue to improve its food offerings.
  15. B&M marketed Fury & Orion as giga coasters at their IAAPA booths.
  16. Looks like a great variety of food! I really hope a food festival will be apart of next years halloween event.
  17. I think the Busch parks do a great job at landscaping. Cedar Fair certainly has room to improve in that area.
  18. ^ Also a very large amount of their season passholders did not renew their passes this year so a new attraction could definitely provide an incentive for people to get a season pass again.
  19. I don't think need is the right word to use. They don't have any plans for The Vortex plot of land yet they took it down. Removing the SoB station could simply be a matter of improving park appearance. Is removing the station a sign something maybe planned to be built there in the near future? Sure. But saying needs implies there a 100% certainty something is being built there soon.
  20. If the campground were to run a shuttle service then they'd likely just use the drop off area, I believe that's what the Kings Island inn did.
  21. Is the park running a shuttle service really going to make more people visit the park to justify buying and operating a shuttle service? A shuttle service seems like something that would benefit the camp ground more then the park . People drive to a campground so it’s very likely most of the guests staying at that campground would be able & willing to drive to the park without there being a shuttle service. I just don’t think there would be much revenue lost by not operating a shuttle service. If the campground wanted to operate a shuttle service no partnership would be necessary.
  22. ^ I don’t think there’s much incentive for the park to do that. Having a shuttle for the campground would mean none of those guest are going to be paying for the parking lot toll.
  23. It looks to be a great attraction however I still think I’ll like Hagrids more.
  24. Does it really matter if someone enjoyed the ride? Perhaps people just have fond memories of King Cobra and because of that they like the ride? Also the blog says they removed the ride for a better thrill ride, how does that imply at all that King Cobra was “the best”. I for one enjoyed the blog.
