  1. It is a 4-way onion. Beans are not offered, hence why a 5-way is not available. Onions are part of the Coney already, which makes offering a 4-way Onion practical. Beans are just another thing that would have to be cooked for a very marginal upcharge. Me too! Miller Lane in Dayton several years ago.
  2. I tend to agree that having the pedestals would make dynamic water displays more difficult, but I don't think it would be impossible. I also find it strange that if they were doing away with them entirely they wouldn't have shown them in that first video they posted. Perhaps we will see them elsewhere in the park or sometime in the future. I do think a water feature in PS would be nice. Maybe they will offer them up at auction and someone can get one for their front lawn
  3. Glad to see Gravity will be back, as well as some new shows.
  4. Just got this sponsored ad on Facebook. They are offering a “discount” on camera sunglasses to get people to send them videos from the park. I can only assume the aim would be illegal on-ride videos. Thoughts?
  5. That’s the wall they install in the serving window for the colder months. Looks like they just removed it and haven’t stored it yet.
  6. 100% agree with this. BLSC and FoF are good, but I can definitely see where a Mack multi-launch would fit in very well with our lineup- especially one that uses the terrain to its advantage.
  7. I feel quite privileged and thankful that I was able to ride Volcano 3 times last season. The last time of which I got to experience a rollback and an evacuation from the launch tunnel, which was quite exciting. The ride stayed down the rest of my weekend in the park. RIP to such a unique ride.
  8. Welded, per the manufacturer. Metal anchor plates are spaced approximately every 5 feet and embedded into the concrete, then the guide rail is welded in place and ground smooth. http://gouldmanufacturing.com/trackspecs.html
  9. On my phone so the quality isn’t great but here is the notice of commencement again. O’Rourke was not listed on there, and I cannot find anything new filed with the Warren county recorder or building department.
  10. From O’Rourke’s Facebook page: Pretty cool photo.
  11. One of my friends who is a ride operator at the park sent it to be, but it’s been sent around quite a bit so I couldn’t tell who originally took the picture.
  12. Sorry for the poor quality, received this on Snapchat. Looks like demolition is well underway. Too bad it is being scrapped and not sold.
  13. Some photos from this evening. Roof trusses, framing lumber, and sheathing have been delivered.
  14. Important to note that Von Roll Seilbahnen AG was the division of Von Roll Holding AG that produced the original Type 101 Skyrides, such as the one at Cedar Point. In 1993 that division was sold to Austrian manufacturer Doppelmayr, the company mentioned above. It’s not unreasonable to think that they could not reproduce the original Type 101 design again.

  18. Here are some photos I just took. Looks like the formwork for the station is going up, and the grading for the paths and ponds is getting done.

  21. Seems to me that this is more in line with what Gravity Group is already doing with the Timberliner trains. Tighter turns and the ability to invert are a key part of their current advantage. RMC will always be able to do more with a steel track than is possible with a wood track. While we don’t see as many GG coasters as we do GCI in the US, the ones we do see seem to be pushing the envelope of what we would think a traditional wooden track can do. With GCI’s greater market cap, maybe we will see more rides similar to Mine Blower start to pop up with these new trains. I’m interested to see if the Infinity flyer trains are more comfortable than the Timberliners are. Those lap bars are hard to beat.
  22. Anybody else notice that they added anti-rollback teeth to the last hill of Mystic? I can’t remember if they did that last year after the valley or if that is new for Winterfest this year.
  23. Yep! Can’t remember the gentleman’s name right now, but I believe he was a project manager. EDIT: @BoddaH1994 was right, he was the president. I must have just seen manager on his card and not the president part.
  24. That photo is probably from the 2015 show, there is a different dive coaster car here this year.
  25. They will be the gas models, powered by the 9hp Honda engine. There is a lot of extra upkeep and maintainence with the electric models, so most parks are still opting for the gas engines. These cars are also engineered much better than the original Arrow design.
