  1. The simple answer is it is a way to get more money from you. The policy changed about the time Banshee was built and that is why there are lockers for every coaster built from Banshee on.
  2. I normally would agree but Kentucky Kingdom is still 2 hours from King's Island. While they may want that market driving to Mason. Closing up shop would mean losing out on the people who are farther out than 2 hours from King's Island or a Cedar Fair park. People who may not be willing to drive that far. How far away is the Indiana market from a CF park? Closing or pulling rides from Kentucky Kingdom could mean potential customers go to Holiday World or Indiana Beach instead.
  3. How is that linked to Walt Disney World? Lets assume they were on their way home from Disney World and the tweet has no proof of that. It takes about 14 days to show symptoms so they would have caught the virus before going to Disney World. Now could they have spread it at Disney World? Again highly unlikey due to Disney's Covid policies they have put into place.
  4. Herschend will kill the alcohol sales in the park and anything even remotely adult. No more "Get your booze before we snooze" texts from the park. Haunt season would be much tamer. Event prices would be much higher and be of no value. The recent Coaster Crew event at Dollywood was around $90 for a 1 day passholder price. That is insane.
  5. I wasn't around a few years ago on these forums. What theory are you refering to?
  6. My first visit to this park I was very underwhelmed. Second visit was for Keys to the Kingdom this past Aug. My opinion on that park took a total 180. If they had the right coasters that would be the number one event in the country easy. They have amazing food and a really good waterpark. They have 2 really good coasters in Lightning Run and Storm Chaser. 2 more that aren't bad. Booze all over the park if you are into that. It would be a shame if he sold it again because I don't even know who if anybody would be a good fit to buy it. The 2 that come to mind, The owners of Holiday World and Dollywood would turn it into more of a family friendly park than it is right now and I do not want that.
  7. I wonder if it could be something like Ed Hart selling the park again to Six Flags and would that really be all that jaw dropping? I'm also a little surprised we haven't heard anything about a Keys to the Kingdom 2 since its sorta tied to the Holiwood Nights event. Anybody remember when it was announced last year. Considering Holiday World went ahead and announced their plans last month and put tickets on sale it would be nice to know Kentucky Kingdom's plans.
  8. Is there anybody here who could explain why some of these soak you? Like the ones at King's Island and Cedar Point. But then the other 3 I have rode at Dollywood, Holiday World and Kentucky Kingdom barely got me wet.
  9. While I agree with that I think my argument for opening has been lost. People are gonna have private Christmas new years parties and pass the virus around. Should they? No. But they will anyways. Doing it at King's Island safely wearing masks and being 6 feet away is the lesser of 2 evils.
  10. If Dollywood can do indoor shows and rides in Dec so could King's Island.
  11. I do not know the answer but I'm sure its near 0. The chances of you catching it outdoors is next to nothing. Its why Dewine has decided on things like allowing fans at Browns games later today and on Jan 3rd. I'm still not sure why King's Island didn't go ahead with a taste of Christmas or something like it. People are gonna party privately and not be safe on New Years Eve when they could do it safely at King's Island if that had stayed open. Also just like the Browns they would have been exempt from the 10pm curfews and likely could have sold alcohol right up until their usual "1 hour before close".
  12. I usually drive about 2 miles down the road and stay at the Best Western when I'm planning on staying more than one day. It is a nice clean older hotel that is usually under a 100 a night.
  13. I use the train whenever I catch it to cut down on walking and normally only use the Skyride as I'm leaving the park for the day and really tired. I did neither in 2020 because the skyride was never running and the train lines and operations was so bad it was faster to walk.
  14. Or at the very least I hope they give those with a vaccine a wristband to wear so they can walk around the park without a mask.
  15. He never gives sources unless it's to his own site and that doesn't count. His posts are always doom and gloom and he seems to be a negative Nancy. Best ignore his posts.
  16. This year good old Millie was the worst offender of that. Due to Covid and that fastlane setup it has the longest fastlane line in the park in 2020.
  17. I think King's Island beats Cedar Point in almost every way. Better operations, shorter lines overall, better food, better at Haunt and events in general. Coasterstock is better than Coastermania. Water Park included with admission. Winterfest. The list goes on and on. There is this idea that Cedar Point has this untouchable coaster line up. America's roller coast. Maybe it's the fact that I am slowly visiting more and more parks but I am starting to disagree. I used to go there and ride everything. Now I tend to ride the unique coasters I can't get elsewhere or coasters they have the best versions of. For me that is really only 5 coasters. Steel Vengeance, Maverick, Magnum, Millenium Force and Top Thrill. Just about all others fall into 2 categories: Rides that just aren't that good aka Wicked Twister, Corkscrew, Mineride, Gemini. Or coasters that have better versions at other parks. Banshee>Raptor. Thunderbird>GateKeeper. Yukon Striker>Valraven. The Bat>Iron Dragon This may be a weird thing to throw in. After visiting Dollywood's Christmas in the Smokies today and yesterday. It just makes me miss Winterfest at Kings Island. Christmas in the Smokies isn't bad but King's Island Winterfest beats it in every single way except maybe no mountain.
  18. It was really busy. I would be surprised if the park didn't hit capacity. Copperhead Strikes line queue reached the end by the 2 hour wait sign. Ricochet's line was out in the park but that thing has slow operations anyways. Afterburn's line was never bad. Some food stands had lines and others did not.
  19. So I was at Carowinds on Black Friday. Got the food tasting card. Chicken gumbo with rice was really good. So was the cinnamon sugar donuts. Those were still hot. Pot roast fries had hardly any pot roast. Cinnamon bread was good but a bit undercooked. Fried shrimp was tasty. Chocolate brownie was good and bartender insisted it had fireball whiskey in it but I didn't taste it. Bartender also was telling people only South Carolina side was open but that makes no sense. Ricochet , Chickey and Pete' and Starbucks are all on North side and were open. Rode Copperhead Strike 3 times and Afterburn 2. Caught a couple shows. Had a great time.
  20. How often do they fill up both grass lots anyways? They could pave them. Would be a great idea to use up parking lot space if they have too much. Or buy some of those shady looking motels and get rid of them.
  21. I wonder where they are going to put it? I know there is several empty spots for a flat but a coaster I have no idea. They do not have a lot of empty land.
  22. They are getting Quimera. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quimera_(roller_coaster)
