  1. May does look really light on operating days considering its even farther south and warmer than Mason. Closing the dry side at 7pm or earlier on every single Mon-Fri seems a bit early too. No operating days later than 8pm even though rides have light packages they never use.
  2. Its hands down Son of Beast. Then Firehawk. I only remember Vortex as a really head banger of a ride. Firehawk was great at night and SOB well I was only 17 when I rode it for the first time and I do not remember it ever being rough. Likely its all due to my age at the time and rose tinted glasses but it still gets my vote.
  3. You can blame that on me trying to write that post after 3 tasty beers. I fixed other typos before the post went through but that one slipped.
  4. My last ride was Tennessee Tornado at Dollywood on Nov 29th. It was in the low 40's that weekend and the station had heaters. Back row in that weather on that ride with a full train is nuts.
  5. That is fake news or a clickbait headline. The park is already in bankrupcty and filed years ago. They have a buyer interested in buying the park but due to said bankruptcy that has already taken place they have to go through the court and accept other bids. It is still bad news because someone could buy it and build condos. https://www.facebook.com/newconneautlakepark
  6. The answer to that is Yes. But usually by now Coastermania tickets have come and gone and Coasterstock tickets have usually had some kinda announcement for a Feb sale. none of which has happened. Also usually by now we sorta know park opening dates and lots of other info starts slowly coming in during the Winter off season. The chains media pages seem to be unusually quiet this season outside of Cedar Point announcing Winter Chill Out and the dumpster fire that sale was.I doubt there is going to be any Coastermania, stock, or madness events this year but I hope I am wrong. Editing the post to say the Winterfest I wrote was a typo of sorts and I meant Winter Chill out.
  7. I went to Cedar Point twice in the fall. The Sat before they brought back reservations. Then 2 weeks later. My second visit was better than the first. The issue was not the Fast Lane lines themselves. It was operations. Rides went down one after another. Everything but Steel Vengeance. My first visit Millennium Force was closed almost all day to everybody and only opened up at 7pm. Should I have stuck with Steel Vengeance and just lapped it all day? Maybe but I also wanted to ride Millennium Force, Magnum, Top Thrill. Maverick and Raptor.
  8. It was terrible at Cedar Point even with a Fast Lane. It left a bad taste in my mouth. When you literally stand in 4 lines in a row only to have them all "break down" for unknown reasons it is bad. I almost left the park after that. 2-3 hours in and a whole lap and a half around the park because of maintenance issues is hard on the feet. That is a subject I try to never bring up. How I prefer to go in order or ride a ride a couple times then move on. Also I normally use the train when I can but the line and ops are too slow due to Covid. Your feet will thank you if you if you plan your rides with the least amount of walking. At King's Island this does not matter as much. Also operations at King's Island were fantastic last year and makes me want to visit that park more. I enjoyed my one visit to Carowinds too. I do not understand what you mean by little people? Do you mean the people who can not afford Fast Lane or all season Fast Lane? You certainly can not consider yourself one of them then if so. Since you have stated twice now that if management had done better, you would have purchased it for this season. Also if you had purchased it for the 2020 season it would still be good for 2021. You likely would have had a better time at Cedar Point but still not a great one.
  9. This does not make a whole lot of sense. Because of the horrible CP park management in 2020 Fast Lane plus was the only way to truly enjoy it. I still managed to average 12 rides a day in with the Fast Lane plus on days when the park was packed. Sure that still is not good but it is better than waiting 4 hours for one ride and maybe getting 2 in. You should ideally have 14 hours for your Fast Lane not 8 and one hour early entry instead of 0. So your Fast Lane ideally would be getting you 3 rides an hour and 30 rides a day or more.
  10. Hulk was more than a retrack. They rebuilt that ride from the ground up. It is a new credit now.
  11. Corkscrew is the worst ride at Cedar Point but it is still better than most Vekoma's. At least Corkscrew is short.
  12. I have said it before but I hope more all season platinum fastlane passes do not open up. I know 2 posts on here state that they are sold out due to Covid restrictions but that is not true. 2020 all seasons went on sale Aug 2019 and sold out way before Covid shut things down in March 2020. I paid 850 for 2020 Platinum fastlane and all 2020's are good for 2021. So in theory if 2020 fastlane sold out before Covid then there should not be any open up for 2021. Sadly I know Cedar Fair better than that and I expect them to sell more and overcrowd the fastlane lines for 2021 just like the Cedar Point Gold Pass did fall of 2019.
  13. Are you saying they did not use the Stinger trains in 2020? Those are green and I thought I saw it on the ride this year too.
  14. I am so tempted to say T3 but I really think its far from the worst. The worst coaster that I have ridden that comes to mind is Invertigo.
  15. I hope I get a ticket this year. I have never been to this event and I finally got a vehicle for winter weather.
  16. This is probably not a good time to be bringing that one back. So many questions will be asked over and over that will get ignored. Is there a Coasterstock 2021? Is Winterfest happening this year? What about Haunt? When is opening day? When are we going back to pre covid operations and rules? Will people who bought tickets to the canceled 2020 Coasterstock get first dibs at the next one?
  17. Maybe its time more of these parks start investing in coasters and rides that can run in sub 40 temps. We know GCI and RMC's can run. Mystic can run below 32 as long as the temp starts out at 34 or above I think and 2019 Winterfest Twisted Timbers was running. Dollywood has heaters in the stations. Anybody know why Carowinds runs Afterburn and not Fury for Winterfest? Woodies with PTC trains like Hurler, Racer Beast and Voyage could probably run too but I think PTC doesn't want the trains run below 40 for some reason. Indiana Beach strongly hinted that they are planning a Christmas event for this year too. Would they run their coasters on that windy lake in sub 40 temps?
  18. Even if King's Island does not open in April the park will not lose out on a lot of money. Prior to this past messed up Covid season the park usually only opens for 2 weekends in April. No Sundays at all and one of those fridays is a 5 hour passholder day. They could even make up for those lost days by adding Haunt weekdays. Early last year the plan was to add back lost operating days later in the year.
  19. I did not exactly find this part fair. when King's Island opened back up they collected all frozen missed payments at once yet somebody who bought a pass at a park that did not open could visit and still has not had to pay anything since the payments were frozen.I think if you were gold then collecting payments when your home park opened is fair but platinum pass holders should have all been treated equally.
  20. Here is my 2 cents. I had to make a reservation for Taste of the Season at Carowinds and was only allowed one at a time. If I had been able to book more than one day in advance I likely would have went for two. Or if I had known the on site hotel had guaranteed entry to the park I would have booked there and gotten my 2 reservations that way. I did buy a tasting pass and several beers so that combined with the hotel revenue is maybe lost money on day two but another guest may have made up for it anyways. On the other hand I was able to make reservations for Dollywood way out in advance for 3 days in a row. Which I did due to not knowing what the weather would be that far out. Or knowing Carowinds calendar or weather. I ended up not using my first Dollywood reservation and used day 2 and 3. I'm sure lots of other people did the same and just did not show up on certain days. My Sunday visit had less people in the park than Sat did. Yet both days hit the cap and they put their usual facebook message up about not letting non reservation holders in at park opening.
  21. That would be a bummer if they are planning on opening May or later. Dollywood is opening for 2021 March 13. Normally Carowinds opens in March and I think King's Dominion do too. When does Kentucky Kingdom and Indiana Beach usually open? Those could end up being my spring "fix" if they open earlier than Cedar Fair.
  22. Am I mistaken that Racer backwards was called recaR?
  23. Cedar Point also charges more for that perk. Last I checked you had to pay for the whole day and not pay the dollar an hour rate that park and King's Island have. So I always end of leaving my stuff with Steven...
  24. Fan of Watchmen? Suggesting something gets announced on New Years about a new owner?
  25. The worst thing Cedar Fair has done and maybe the only really bad thing was removing recaR. The best was bringing back Winterfest for 2017.
