But they have an RMC that has just as much downtime as an Intamin.

I wonder if this sale could be the reason why Keys to the Kingdom hasn't been announced yet for this year. I also wonder what that means for any fall operations in particular Haunt season. They brought it back for 2019. Then last season they decided to close the park at the end of Sept.

Looks like Frontier Festival is starting really early this year. -
Kings Island Announces its 2021 Calendar
SnakePlissken replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
You now have to hover on each date to see the hours and that is just dumb. I hope that gets fixed or doesn't roll over to other Cedar Fair sites. -
It was confirmed at Winter Chill out that Cedar Point turns theirs to things like dirt and gravel when they are testing things in the park and they do not want people to see it. King's Island probably turns them off for the same reason.

I would advise against making any large purchases until summer when we actually know parks will be opening. We think things will be better and hope they will but saw what happened last year.

Cedar Point to set age limit on dorms
SnakePlissken replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Kids have nothing to do with your statement. Both an 18 year old girl and a 45 year old man are legal adults. I also do not see what is so funny that you have to write "lol". -

Do you speak for all 18 year old girls? Are all 45 year old males creepy? Your statement is sexist and age discrimination. -
If Dollywood can do indoor shows then King's Island can too.

How much longer for Gemini?
SnakePlissken replied to SonofBaconator's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Gemini is in my bottom 4 in the park. Along with the mineride, wicked twister, and Corkscrew. Rides I usually skip. Iron Dragon is my number 11 and I don't ride it often due to lines being long and my fastlane not being good on that ride. Everything in my top 10 I try to ride when I am there. Rougaru is a better ride than Gemini. I think Cedar Point needs a huge Gravity Group coaster more than anything else. Something to compete with The Voyage and Hades 360. -
2021 most anticipated US new ride
SnakePlissken replied to coaster sally's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
2020 should have been Iron Gwazi but now that goes to Velocicoaster easy. I will probably wait till summer 2022 and make that my summer vacation. Do Universal, Fun Spot, Busch Gardens, and Sea World in the same trip. I live so far away I'm hoping lines will be a bit better in 2022 for those 2 new coasters. -
With Haunt they could try to add some weekdays and more/later Sunday nights. On days when they open during the day they could have some Haunt stuff going on during the day like Cedar Point sorta does. Some indoor haunts open during the day and have more indoor shows during the day. The park is dead from 11am to Haunt open on Saturdays. I went to Haunt 2019 on a odd 90 degree day and got 3 whole laps around the park on coasters before 4pm. I also wouldn't be opposed to a Holiday World style reservation system for House walkthroughs at night. Food and booze lines get crazy during Haunt too. Move some of that to mobile and fix those problems.

Cedar Point to set age limit on dorms

The article states it is going into effect this year not next year. -
If you go down whats currently 4 posts below. This question was already asked a few days ago. I am going to copy and paste what I said there. Perhaps merge this Thread post with the other about passholder days. It is going to be completely different due to Covid and parks opening later than normal. Everybody wants their fix. In a non new coaster year preview night is 5 hours on a Friday, fastlanes are not valid and lines are short. Then opening day for the GP is a Sat. This year I'm guessing preview is like last summers July preview. You will likely have to reserve one of the 2 days and will only get 1 day.
-
I agree and I stated I think its dumb. I think it was one of those mailbag questions Don used to do. May have been asked in 2019.
-
There is more than 2 parks in the whole country and those are not the only 2 doing winter chill out type events either. Who else I do not know. The idea is there wasn't any free days open not already being used by another park. It may be a dumb reason but that was basically the reason given. Not wanting to run a Winter Chill Out type event at the same time as another park is doing one.
-
Don has been asked about that before and his answer is pretty much all the winter park weekends are booked up by other parks.

This Year I'm guessing preview is like last summers July preview. You will likely have to reserve one of the 2 days and will only get 1 day. So being almost 2 hours away and the likelyhood of long lines and my fastlane not being good and not being able to visit for more than one day in a row/same weekend. I will likely not be doing preview day this year just like last year.

This part could be easy. Ask for proof then slap a bracelet on your wrist. Unlikely that they do it yes but it could be done.

To quote the late great Robin Williams "What year is it?". I feel like this was posted a year ago. I had to check the date.

I do question why one would have to wear a mask after getting a vaccine. If things like that do not change then people are going to hesitate or not get a vaccine at all.
-
Anybody get any emails or have any idea when Carowinds and King's Dominion are going to open? Usually those parks open in March.

I've met Taylor and Coaster Bob and both of seem really nice. Sat down near the end of Coasterstock 2019 and had a nice chat with Coasterbob. I don't quite understand the Taylor and Sarah thing. More so the fact that there is always some other dude in the videos who could be her boyfriend but nobody really says. Not like I care. It is just the fact that Sally mentioned the gf. In regards to the Starbucks hint the only guy I know of that frequents Starbucks and points out when it is closed is The Daily Woo. I would not call him much of a theme park reviewer though.
