Most Underrated Amusement Park
The Interpreter replied to InvertiJack's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Just out of curiosity, why do you think NJFTP is underrated? It's one of the more popular parks, and it looks like a dump to me. What do you like about it? I agree with Valleyfair and SCBB, and I don't know much about Playland or Silverwood. Although I know Playland's wooden coaster is supposed to be AWESOME. Opinions like yours, and of spoiled locals who like to diss the familiar, are exactly why it is underrated. Have you been there? If not, you need to go. It's in my three favorite parks. Period. No other Six Flags park even comes close to it, in my book. That's MY opinion. I've been there literally hundreds of times. -

Or: "Drop This Far In..." Of course, that one ended up not happening there (Flight Commander pad) at all and not anywhere in the park for years. -
I'd have paid for that service a few years back. Mom could have gone to the park with me, with dignity. They used to have that. They were called trams. They didn't. Mom went to Dollywood. And loved it. She'd have loved to have gone to Kings Island, too. Finally I convinced her to let me buy a wheelchair and push her in it. I happily suggested Kings Island. She quickly said, "No, I still want to go to Dollywood. They care about me and want me to feel welcome. Kings Island doesn't." I was speechless and had no reply. And we went. To Dollywood. They cared about her and made her feel welcome. I've never forgotten that. A park gets it. Or it doesn't. When it comes to parking lot trams, seating for seniors, shade trees, etc., Kings Island doesn't get it. Hasn't for years. A best day ever includes many generations. Or, it could. Mom looked forward to Dollywood trips. She no longer wanted to go to Kings Island. They had gotten rid of the trams. I wonder what that REALLY saved them. It cost them Mom's visits. I'm sure she wasn't and isn't the only one. "They care about me and make me feel welcome."

I'd happily line up to get my picture made with Geoff Raynor, the Knott family, Matt Ouimet, Al Weber, Jr., Pat Koch, David Mandt,...the list goes on and on.

A brilliant man with a heart of gold. The Queen's English can mask a lot of vacuousness. I'll take the sincerity any day.... It's a lock! -

A post so nice He made it twice. So far. -
The lockers are too small to fit a kid in anyway. Terp -- running for the family care center, sponsored by somebody or other.

It is far superior, and that's before you consider two things. First, tb shoots gushers of water at Kings Island. Second, watch for falling trees.

I've never understood why so many people quit thinking when they go to a park. If parks were responsible for lost articles, things would quickly get out of hand. Claims would be made for lost cups, wallets, money, strollers, etc., that never even came into the park to start with. And since parks get their money from customers, guess who would pay for all this... Leave it home if you can. You can't lose what you don't have.

What operations may consider roller coasters and what marketing may can well and truly be different things. And that's okay.
