  1. And, IF the figures are even close to right, you know this is not "a deal" how exactly? What is the manufacturer's suggested retail price for the item in question? Terp, who works with cost estimators, engineers, project managers and consultants every day...among others...and who likes to ask questions.

  3. As the season looms... Will Camden Park open? Conneaut likely will, but either park is touch and go. They NEED your support. Sadly, don't expect much these days.
  4. Note the upper case and lower case... Short, simple language.... None of these.... Terp, cross threadin'
  5. Possible? Sure. Likely? No. Volume Deal? Sure. Likely? Certainly. But of what---and where? 'Helpful' Terpster
  6. There SHOULD be a designated driver ticket available, including food samples only for a reasonable price. DC REQUIRES this. The park should WANT to do this, for many, many reasons.
  7. And if I manage to get back East this year, I's paying cash....
  8. Decades, too. I'm in my seventh decade of life,..
  9. Why? By all accounts, Kentucky Kingdom was essentially empty most days during the fair. Dispatch times matter little if there are no lines.
  10. And Thunder Road was a far larger coaster, as is...
  11. ...and likely artificially flavored both. With WAAAAY too much dye. Safety of artificial colors is suspect, at least by some. As others are eliminating artificial flavors and colors....
  12. It can be unbelievably busy. That's the time to do other things, things most don't. The rides you usually miss, the people watching, the shopping, the walking around aimlessly. So much to do.
  13. Let's Twist Again Like We Did Last Summer! Terp, more likely to Putz around As He Did Last Summer (try the chili dog!)
  14. And that's just the ones you know about. Friday's coming. So is Saturday.

  16. There is little doubt in my mind J. Falfas was pushed aside at FUN by one D. Kinzel in an attempt to try to install a B. Kinzel. Thanks to the attempted Apollo Global giveaway, instead two Kinzels eventually 'voluntarily' retired and left to seek other opportunities, respectively. And FUN got a much more involved board. There IS such a thing as staying too long.

  19. Is it easier to maintain a fleet of Subarus, or some Hondas, some Fords, some Saabs, some GMC pickups, a Jeep, a Crosley, four Vespas and an International Harvester? Is it easier to deal with 1 manufacturer or 26? Is it easier to get quantity discounts and better service when you do almost all your business with one company? Is it best to buy the most reliable? Is it best to buy the product with the best safety record? Is it best to buy the product easiest to operate? Is it best to buy the product that pleases virtually all your customers or is it better to buy the product that thrills a small segment (when it works) but is too extreme for many? Is it best to buy the product with the most capacity? Is it best to buy a product your competitors realize is the Cadillac of the industry but for budget reasons may not be buying much anymore, as the competitors have lowered their capital investment per location because they decided to put something in every location every year? These and many other factors...
  20. This year Legend. Next year...
