  1. Then it would have said hours, not seven days. And even then it'd be 8, as you would round to the nearest day. My employer is frequently ordered by courts to do this or that in a certain number of days. Counting days isn't hard. Tomorrow is a day away. Keep adding, one by one. Next Saturday is 8. It is NOT 7. If it were 7, it'd be a week away. A week from today is next Friday. Why is this so hard? It isn't.
  2. Opening day is 8 days away. 7 days is a week. A week from today is preview night. When counting days, you don't count the first day, you do count the last. Counting YOUR way: Today, Friday: 7 Sat: 6 Sun: 5 Mon: 4 Tue: 3 Wed: 2 Thur: 1 FRIDAY: o LIFTOFF. Uh, no. At least you are consistent.
  3. Me, too. When that ride was at Six Flags Over Georgia, it ran even better. And the themeing there was among the best ever. Jungle swamp, Christmas lights, jungle music. I loved Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom, and I loved Kentucky Kingdom: The Thrill Park. It had such potential--but location, the Fair Board, and lack of capital investment post 2000 all helped do it in. Did I mention Swampwater Jack's incredible strawberry shortcake its opening year? Or the best shaved ice anywhere served in an upside down sombrero hat shaped clear plastic thingy?
  4. It most certainly did. It was largely a Dennis McNulty design. I loved his coasters with a passion. Strong negative g's, great pacing, wild rides. Not at all rampy. Stella had an AMAZING first drop. Especially in the back seat... Lola front left, Stella back right. That's where Terp was oft found.
  5. And Ringling losing its trademark elephants.., "It's a brand new world..."
  6. Lola was not boring. When it opened, it was one of the very best roller coasters in the country. That's one of several reasons that five of us rode it more than 100 times in a single day and that I visited Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom 33 times conversion year while living more than three hours away. Boring? Blasphemy. I don't even want to think about how that was almost two decades ago.
  7. "SeaWorld Slaps Its New Orca Allies In Face With Latest Lying Ads": http://crooksandliars.com/2016/04/seaworld-slaps-its-new-orca-allies-face Posting of a link by the poster is not to be interpreted as agreement of the poster with the views expressed therein, nor the converse.
  8. Certainly images without links have been removed in the past. Where an argument for fair use exists, it clearly does not where there is no attribution.
  9. Because of fair use and the Terms of Service here. Reposting others original works without a link is NOT fair use, and is prohibited here. Arguably each photo requires its own link. Thanks.
  10. The actual reasons that belts are typically removed before going through a scanner haven't been listed here. The same reasons that watches, coins, phones, etc., are. Metal detectors do best at finding unexpected metal when other metal doesn't interfere. And the removed items can be (but often aren't) inspected more closely. The level of security at, say, NJFTP, is usually far higher than, say, Holiday World. Had to take the belt off one of two times? Unexpected security actions. Not routine each time. Random. Yet, attackers like soft targets. Only metal detect on special events. Fine, they pick June 17. The best security is both visible and not. The attacker needs only one lapse. I feel far safer in most "sketchy" parks than I do at cultural iconic areas that are cherished celebrations of America. I fear the day that a park suffers a major attack. And whether or not a guest has to remove a belt will not be even a tiny factor going forward. Parks? Admissions? In some places, malls, stadiums... Too much said already...I'm out of this one, for now.
  11. Most belts have these metal things called buckles. I have never gone through security in any high security area without being asked to remove my belt (and dress shoes). And I'm probably in those areas far more often than most.
  12. Already being discussed: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php/topic/31887-disneyland-paris-death/
  13. Let's put it this way. Carowinds was slated for a bright and shining future. Mr. B. Kinzel didn't have an assigned role and responsibility in that future. He left Carowinds to pursue other opportunities.
  14. What? I hear Bart Kinzel is available.... Terp -- running for the door.

  16. Sometimes, people get tired of waiting for the boss to retire... And they move on...
