Phantom Theater: Opening Nightmare New in 2026
johnjniehaus replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Has anyone confirmed who is doing the voice acting for the characters in the new ride? -
I meant aesthetically with the Western style buildings, shops, etc to feels like Dollywood. Dollywood does have better ops. I've never personally seen Aftershocks have more than a 15-20min wait. Timber Terror does need a second train. They just put a second one on tremors this year and it helped ALOT

Absolutely love Silverwood and said first time I visited that it felt a lot like Dollywood in some ways. While I worry a bit about hershlend growing too fast, I do think this will be a positive thing for Silverwood considering it will be one of their flagship parks considering its size and location with next to no competition. It pulls from Washington, Idaho, Canada, and Montana markets which is something alot of parks don't do.

I don't see six flags selling parks to hershlend especially in any market that there's any opportunity to compete in. Did they sell SFA or CGA to other amusement operators? Absolutely not be because it's a better strategy to eliminate competitors or "unneeded" parks. They didn't sell geauga lake either. If six flags is looking to unload more parks through sale to another operator like hershlend, it'll be ones that don't compete in any way with the properties they want to keep. For example Valleyfair is a good candidate for that. Is a sad day in the industry when parks close because of too many monopolies and big corporation bottom lines. I get that parks have to make money I'm just making the point that competition helps the industry and monopolies don't

Most Beautiful Carousels
johnjniehaus replied to johnjniehaus's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
For some reason the midway carousel at CP hasn't done much for me in the past. The pavilion is super ugly which doesn't help. I have never ridden the kiddy kingdom one. Will have to check it out next time I'm at the park -
Did they run Sol Spin during Winterfest last year?

Most Beautiful Carousels
johnjniehaus replied to johnjniehaus's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Just an update on the carousels, I did get to ride the one at Santa Cruz about a month ago and while I did enjoy it very much it's hard to place. The clown mouth is definitely more difficult to throw a ring into than the Knoebels lion. The carousel itself looks a bit more dated and less pristine as the Spokane Looff Carousel. I did enjoy the fact that it was 4 across and all were jumpers Another pretty one I rode recently was the PTC at Elitch Gardens. Had very beautiful artwork and jumpers that were pulling the chariots -
If it's running at full staffing and all the coasters are open like the day I was there it's a very enjoyable park! Their PTC carousel is very petty as well!

100% this. You don't get that whip over the airtime hills on a 4-accross train like what they put on Mako and Candymonium

I'd say Gwazi is my #2 RMC after SteVe but I don't criticize anyone who puts it at #1. I think steVe ending going through the support structure is unrivaled but Gwazi does have relentless pacing and doesn't have the somewhat painful bunny hops Montu is my favorite invert as well for sure I actually ended up liking Griffon at BGW better than Sheikra. I like the bigger trains and the layout was better with the extra inversion but sheikra is for sure the #2 dive over any of the ones with vest restraints. I think BGT is a decent park but I've always had issues with multiple coasters being down when I visit. For example first visit it was Gwazi and Shiekra that were closed all day, second visit it was Shiekra and Kumba, and this visit it was cheetah hunt and Grover. I also think that park suffers from a lack of flat rides. I personally do prefer the Williamsburg park as I think their ops, ride collection, and food is all superior. I think I'd like BGT better if it actually performed 100% but it always seems like it's running at 80% when I visit
