These kids are without genuine affection, and their wicked hearts wax worse and worse. Parents won't discipline their children for fear of some government agency intervening; there are hundreds of media outlets, all feeding this gangland, gangster culture. Decency is going fast, and respect for societal order is disappearing rapidly. The institutions of natural order are in disarray as everyone sets their own rules in the home, the church, and human government. To quote "The Drowning Pool" song "Bodies", "Something's got to give..."

2 years later, are you happy CF purchased KI?

Very nice. I would hope they can one day bring back the band organ to the GC, and more awe-inspiring, "grand" music to the front gate/International street. -
^The one from the 1983 original "Yub Yub!", or the one from the 1997 re-release?

[Edit] Answered my own questions about 'Viper' and 'Venom'. Definitely snakey, though.

Especially the careful buying of lots of acreage, to avoid the kind of sprawl that butted up to Disnleyland in California.

[edit] posted the same time as ^ You're correct on the spelling with 'ie'.

Well, I don't think there was a "Coney Dominion" that got moved because of flooding, to a place called "Kings Mills, Virginia."
-
Although not in the park, I actually had a conversation with a BP employee this morning who said: "Kings Island was going to move somewhere else because of tax." I told her that it wasn't going to be a physical move, but rather a proposed de-annexation from Mason, to which she replied: "Well, they've had like 3 owners in the last 2 years, and now it's back owned by Hannah Barberra." I just smiled politely and walked away.

I-Team Investigates KI Foreign Worker Program?

I'm surprised to see someone feeling like they're "in prison" while here in the land of opportunity. I don't know the whole story, so I'll watch with interest this afternoon. I hope the fella can one day achieve his dreams for success, and can look back on his present situation as just one of the many steps along his path towards prosperity. -
"...hey Culligan Man!"

I think I remember it working on May 24th, but it was weak, like the helicopter scene has been lately.

I almost thought this was going to be spam for some new cell company, until I remembered "Wayne's World". ..I wonder how Mike Meyers' career is going these days? -post #500!

^It would be a good use for the former "Paramount Story".

We'll probably leave early and watch the fireworks from a "crowd safe" distance, if there's such a thing .

Death at SFOG

Sarcastic venting on... "It's the park's fault the fence was not made of 14' double-reinforced tungsten, and the sign was not flashing neon with multilingual audio. Furthermore, the park should have taken the responsible step of placing an armed bouncer every ten feet along the ride's perimeter, to ensure innocent guests don't get accidentally sucked into the danger area." It's always the park's fault. Hayall Yeah to Tort Reform! Sarcastic venting off. Just venting. I'm saddened for the tragedy; his family's in my prayers. -
Good report. The Rivertown fries are awesome, esp. with cheese and bacon.

July, 1978. It was my first airplane flight (we were living in Detroit at the time). Rode the Big Slide all morning long, and never got bored with it. Then our relatives had a huge barbecue in Mason, then we came back to the park, where I spent the rest of the day in HBL. It was the last time I ever rode in a parking tram. Lost forever is a great picture of my cousin and me riding the Helicopter ride that would one day become the Jetson's ride that is no longer in the park. I remember the hand stamp was fluorescent, and you had to hold it under a black light to get back inside the park. My aunt bought a dog leash that had no dog (something to do with HB's 'Ghost Chasers'). I got a marionette that had blue feathers. My brother wanted to buy an elongated 7-up bottle from the Glass blower, but it was either too expensive, or not for sale. I went back to Michigan with a lot of bragging rights about 'my park back home'. Best trip ever.

I like watching the fish from the tower, especially in the morning when they're hungry. It's a huge, firey blob schooling back and forth across the pond. Very soothing; like a giant lava lamp!
