  1. And how come there's no mother of Pearl?
  2. I think one of (many) I have heard was quite odd. When I was in grade school, I recall hearing about someone falling out of the Screamin Demon then landing on the bottom of the loop then the person was run over by the train. Very odd. Has anyone else heard this? Very odd. Never heard of this happening. Hey, how is it that the future quotes to this post talk about phyisics? Weird.
  3. Like the ones they used to make the Eurotunnel? Now, that's an interesting angle. You're digging a tunnel and stumble across an ancient tomb/mine/vault. That's cool....hmmm
  4. Flight Deck - TomCat Invertigo - Double Agent Drop Tower - Acromaniac Thunder Alley - Pole Position Back Lot Stunt Coaster - Road Rage
  5. With a generous budget, I'd find the geniuses behind the Vegas Freemont Street Experience, and New York's Times Square buildings (using that bright LED technology) to line the inside walls with High-Definition LED screens, and fill them with an immersive, moving starscape with planet flybys, comets, galaxies, etc. Hey, dream big! -tb
  6. Drop Tower: "20% Scarier than the leading brand." "If it were any taller, you'd need a pilot's license." "The quickest way to Action Zone from the sky." "Like bunjee jumping, without the messy cords." "I can see my house from up here!" "You'll never look at magnets the same."
  7. It would be cool to see the KI skyline lit up with a nice twister, painted bright yellow like the old Scooby Doo (FOC).
  8. If you get married in a Super WalMart, you could actually get all the catering done in house! Team that up with outfitting the entire wedding party! Seems like a win-win situation. Naw, shucks, I'd have the recep'n over't the Bass Pro Shop, yessir! ...what, wait? Where'd the cowboy emoticon go?
  9. But the 500+ acre tract of land is so happy, and full of fond memories! Sure, it's a commercial enterprise where people spend lots and lots of money, but it's like no such place on the planet! People get married in Wal-Marts for goodness sakes. Places are special to people because of the good memories they have there. Now, wanting to buried at KI...that would be unhealthy
  10. (We went to PKI right after getting married!) We'd probably renew our vows atop the Eiffel Tower, because it's a landmark of our hometown and favorite park.
  11. Purely speculation, but if they did, perhaps it would be one similar to "Excalibur" at Funtown/Splashtown in Saco, Maine (there are POVs on YT). Maybe it would be introduced during the "next great coaster era", sometime within the next 20 years? It's hard to guess. Harder still, is trying to guess where at KI such a coaster would go.
  12. But, of course they have eateries. Right there in between all the rideries! Come on!
  13. Kings Island: Take a Break from Ferris Wheels.
  14. Potato Works. Seriously, with about 25 packs of ketchup, a large Sprite, and slaw from Chick-fil-a. Everytime I hear the train whistle and I'm hungry, off to Rivertown I go...
  15. [[Trivia: My second post ever was a suggestion that KI should get a Skyscraper. ]] Four riders? Would be an up-charge, no?
  16. Vortex, because you can look down at The Beast from the lift hill, and because of the good speed of getting through the lines.
  17. "Kings Island, Where Else? What? Cedar Point? Well, Okay then."
  18. I gotta think that Kings Island is a brand new experience to at least a couple thousand people each year; people who are visiting a theme park probably for the first time in their lives. Even without new atttractions, the legendary ones instill awe to new visitors every year. I think that many regional folks don't know much about other parks and their rides, so attractions like "Beast", "Firehawk" and "The Vortex" become "first impressions" of world-class coasters to them (they probably don't care about how common, or how 'used' they are). It never gets old to hear first-timers' reactions to riding these classic (and sometimes newer) giants.
  19. I agree, Raptor. The closest things Ki has these days is Scrambler, Zephyr, Viking Fury and the Eiffel Tower. Pretty mild compared to the bigger, star attractions.
  20. More rumors: "The train used to feature audioanimatronic characters playing pioneers and Native Americans." (False: They were real people.) "The Eiffel Tower is really a water tower/unfinished restaurant/tv antenna." (False: the interior contains elevator equipment, and the tower itself isn't an antenna, although there are some weather and communications devices up there.) "The 'Banana Splits' was filmed at Kings Island." (False: Portions were filmed at Coney Island, not Kings Island). "Evel Knievel jumped the KI fountains." (False: He jumped 14 buses at KI; the fountains he jumped were at Caesar's Palace in Paradise, Nevada).
  21. To quote Mr. Krabs..."More!" Kings Island: Get All Loopy! Kings Island: A Very Brady Experience Kings Island: We've Got Blue Ice Cream! Kings Island: No Monorails! Kings Island: Come See Our Amazing Goose Exhibit! Kings Island: Ahhhhhhh Kings Island: Our Castle's a Green Tower! Kings Island: Come See Our Amazing Bumblebee Exhibit!
  22. [[Mimics Casey Kasem as "Shaggy"]] - "Like, zoinks, Scoob! This place sure has gotten weird over the last 20 years! Talking sponges? Like, babies flying around on green dinosaurs? A giant, bald skateboarder?! We'd better stay inside!"
  23. Not before I add another post to my count! Great info! Can't wait to see it.
  24. ^^That's scary. Now I'm reeaally interested in who's driving the key performance indicators! [EDIT] Whew...just read up on equity offerings...maybe not as scary as I thought, but very interesting none the less.
