Just saw the image on their Facebook. I had not been keeping up with this topic so I thought it may have been a photoshop joke, but alas it is not. I personally wish that they would have just gave it a better red and yellow paint scheme. It is going to look strange at first walking up to the gate and seeing a newly painted Invertigo. Does anyone know if the trains are being painted as well. (Shucks, there goes any memories of Face/Off I had in my head.)

Does anyone remember the petition to save the Flying Eagles? Ah how I would love to be directed into the Theater by the Maestro just one more time.

I was browsing on KI's website and I saw no place to renew your Platinum pass like last year when you could just enter your barcode and you have a renewal, can anyone help me out here, is there a place to do this or am I going to have to buy a whole new pass?

I never even knew about the College Football Hall of Fame, where exactly was it located at in relation to Kings Island?

Thank you for at least explaining what it looked like. For some reason queue lines have always fascinated me, I do not know why.

Ah yes we are getting closer to a pic of the elusive queue line, great photo. I was able to ride the Cobra one time before they removed it, I really do not recall much about the ride being younger. One part I really do recall is the trick track, that section was truly a very neat experience. However, I do not have any memories of waiting in line, boarding the ride, or even the ride experience itself. At least I can say I rode it before it was removed I guess.

Cincy Company Producing Old KI Ride Logo T-Shirts
Jasper replied to WesReviews's topic in Kings Island
I love how the company didn't just slap a logo on a plain t shirt instead they used the distressed look, I actually might have to look into getting one of these. I hope more logos are to come around in the future. -
Is this perhaps a Skylab operators booth, because if you look in the upper left it appears to be King Cobra.

Doug Apple, head supervisor at BLSC, has passed away
Jasper replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
I had been seeing Ronny's updates on Facebook lately about this, I did not know him, unless I saw him working at the park while I was there. But this is truly sad to hear. After loving Kings Island so much and being on here it feels as if the employees are a part of your family as much as the people you spend time at the park with. Truly a sad story to hear but your all's write ups of those close to him really make me feel as if I knew him. May you rest in peace Doug, my prayers and condolences go out to your friends, family, and all those affected. As someone on this website once said, "May a path always rise to meet you, and a coaster be on your horizon." As I finished posting that I saw a picture of Doug on Facebook and do remember seeing him a couple of times. It really made me break down in tears, when you think about it this way it is really un-real. During the summer you see hundreds and hundreds of people pass through the gates at Kings Island and see only an amusement park, a place where only fun exists. But this truly shows that Kings Island is more than that, Kings Island can make bonds with people that are inseparable. It can bring people together to experience memories with friends that will last a lifetime. I am sure a lot of memories about Doug that will be shared involve time spent at Kings Island, once again, even though I did not know him, may Doug rest in peace. -
The more important thing besides the image is that I forgot that Vortex is indeed 25 years old this year. I wonder if we will see anything to commemorate that?

Watched this video on YouTube several times, it is really nice to see how calm the commercial seems to be and the views and angles from the park are amazing to see. Thank you for posting.

Intamin Plug and Play, or an Intamin coaster with a style like Maverick. However, one of these fancy new wing riders looks pretty nice too.

Great find. I am pretty sure that is the tightrope walk mark for Wallenda.

Did I read it correctly that I-Street had mimes?

Goodness gracious I had to switch from the tablet to the laptop so I could type this up. 1. I would love to see just some minor theming being added. Just here and there, the park could really use it. 2. Maybe put some more fans and misters in the queue lines like on Firehawk, those things really help out in the summer. 3. Give The Racer some TLC and make it look like it did in 1972. 4. Adventure Express, fix the theming and lighting in the last tunnel, at least one of the tiki men have been either out of light, or have one arm broken. 5. Offer more perks to Platinum/Gold pass holders, such as discounted pay per rides, maybe like a 5 dollar Thursday or something. Even have discounts in certain restaurants. 6. Theme the train, CP's train is a ride in itself. If I think of more I will post them later.

Is that shot of Amazon Falls cropped or something? Because if you look at the drop from that angle wouldn't the Eiffel Tower be more out of the shot to your left?

Correct me if I am wrong but isn't that Outer Hanks, present day of course?

Thank you for posting this link. My favorite shot is either the aerial view or the removing of the letters on the sign. The aerial view is stunning at that time.

Great photo! Notice the man with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth. He needs to be in a designated smoking area.....er or not.

In regards to the Delirium construction, look how bright and gleaming the paint is, wish it still looked like that. For the handbook, I love how you can tell how times have changed, I would love to see the inside of it. And what year is that when Viking Fury picture was taken?

Thank you so much for sharing those photos Shaggy. Really nice to see SOB line on opening day and seeing the old trains and the loop.

I am just going to predict that this year will be one of the most exciting years we have seen at KI in some time. New site, water park expansion and new name, new shows. I am really looking forward to 2012.

Keep em coming Paul. I love the photos that date back to the Paramount days and even before.
