  1. Saturday night before closing day I would guess to say it was about 38 degrees and Diamondback was still operational and running.
  2. Thank you Kings Island, for another great season in 2011!

  3. If The Crypt is on it's way out then personally I would love to see a Screaming Swing that would match up to or even outsize Skyhwak at CP. Those things do not take up quite that much room and give a great ride experience. However, everyone who is saying an upcharge attraction will probably be right.
  4. Well for me this was one of my most remembered seasons I have had in a while. Opening Day was a little bit rough due to the rides going down and it being crowded with no WindSeeker, but non the less it was a good day. WindSeeker opened w/ Dino's Alive so right there is 2 attractions that were added to the park, take em as you can get them. I also shared so many memories with my friends and even my family this year. Some of my most fond memories include trips to Kings Island this summer. From the blazing hot June/July days, to the cold, 38 degree nights at Haunt. Also got the last ride of the year on The Beast, and the first one of the year on Flight of Fear. It was a great season and I look forward to seeing everyone in Spring 2012! Thank you again Kings Island.
  5. Wouldn't mind having a KIC meetup in the off-season, I would actually love to attend that.
  6. Good to see progress for the new expansion. Saw the bulldozers and back hoes and what not today in BB's parking lot. Cannot wait to see the Soak City expansion begin!
  7. Seems like just yesterday they were announcing this ride at the Fireworks festival and now look at it. I must say it does look impressive, Dollywood is starting to build themselves quite a collection of thrill rides.
  8. You should actually have two options for The Beast, the regular ride, and the night ride. I still say The Beast anyways, but at night that ride turns into something else.
  9. It's almost closing day, where did the season go?

  10. Looks like today the park relatively dead. Sunday's in October are by far the best days of the month to go.
  11. Sorry to hear about the loss of your father flightoffear, thank you for posting those pictures, those are some really great shots of the park.
  12. Can't say I ever really saw a maze with a huge line, we did stay in AZ for the majority of the night.
  13. I went through Club Blood, Slaughterhouse, and Wolf Pack last night. I must say the best was Wolf Pack, by a large margin. Club Blood did not even have one moment where it startled me, Slaughterhouse sometimes got loud and borderline annoying, but it was still worth checking out.
  14. Went last night and it really was dead. Hardly any lines at all, except about an hour for Skyflyer because it was so cheap. Other than that, did 3 houses and about 5 rides I think.
  15. I will be going to Haunt tomorrow night and I am not expecting light crowds so I guess you can say I am going in with an open mind. The best days to go in October, if you are wanting to experience the park itself and not the Haunts, are Sunday's. I have found that Sunday's in October are simply the absolute best time to visit the park.
  16. I am going to give a speech for my College public speaking class on roller coasters. The speech is meant to be informative and my three main topics are the safety, what goes into designing a ride, and how the coaster has evolved over the years. I was wondering if anyone could give me any information, any websites to go to, or even anything you might have in your own collection pertaining to the safety of the rides and what goes into the design. I have a lot of information, well over enough to write an effective speech, but I would like to know if anyone can give me some more information. I knew this would be the place to come for help, thanks guys.
  17. I credit the legend with getting me really into wanting to design coasters and really my love for coasters and parks in general. He really was truly a genius and is one the most influential designers to ever grace the earth. In my honest opinion he gave us the greatest thing to ever glide over steel rails, Magnum XL-200. May a path always rise to meet you and a coaster be on your horizon Mr. Toomer, heres to the legend.
  18. Well I apologize for not looking in the Kings Island forum on a non-KI related topic.
  19. I searched and found nothing is why I started it here.
  20. http://www.coaster-net.com/news/1602-industry-legend-ron-toomer-dies/ Truly a sad story. I just heard about it today while I was listening to Monday's In The Loop podcast. He was one of my favorite coaster designers ever and he really inspired me to get into Roller Coasters and some day aspire to be a designer. I also believe he created the single best roller coaster on the face of the earth in Magnum XL-200. His lift chain has taken him to a place no coaster can ever climb, RIP Ron Toomer.
  21. I love those videos, really great to see a different park than Kings Island from a time like that. It is amazing how far that park has came.
  22. Twister Rodriguez from Rocket Power, then Arnold from Hey Arnold, then Grandpa from Hey Arnold.
  23. I actually have Growing Up Brady, Barry Williams' Autobiography and it has a whole chapter entitled "The Fish Bowl" in it. He said that people were giving The Bradys dirty looks when they would get to the front of the line and that the guests were told to not acknowledge them in filming at all. He also mentions the guests coming and peeping in Maureen, Eve, and Susan's window in the hotel. It is actually a very interesting book, I recommend reading it.
  24. I am really excited to see the Fright Pass feature is so cheap, 20 dollars when you buy 5. This to me is really worth it if you want to experience all the haunts. Waiting in line for Haunts can get excruciantingly long and you probably won't get to do everything all in one night. Using this, I can now hopefully breeze through the Haunts, and still have time to ride some rides afterwards. Haunt looks promising this year, I hope to see a bunch of KIC coverage and photos.
  25. I actually have this audio ripped off the YouTube video and on my iPod.
