Cedar Point has 3, so they would still need one more to even tie them. I am not even sure what the record is.

Well money to blow, probably not. I do not mind SPENDING the money to get more and more rides. That is why I fear getting a Fast Lane, I mean don't get me wrong an hour wait is better than a 2 hour wait, but is it 55 dollars worth of getting an extra hour knocked off, probably not. I might just see how Monday goes and how crowded the park is and then see if I want to get one on Tuesday.

I probably miss the overall atmosphere of the park. Found some old pictures of my first ever visit in 1996 and an old button promoting Flight of Fear. Ride wise I have to say King Cobra and Phantom Theater. Only got to ride Cobra once so I vaguely remember. Other things I miss are the Hanna Barberra characters in HBL. Never forget Scooby Doo, Captain Caveman, etc. running around. Viva La Paramount!

I will be taking a trip to Cedar Point starting Sunday the 12th, and leaving on Wednesday the 15th, and I was wondering if Fast Lane really cuts down the line that much or is there still a long wait even with the Fast Pass. I wanted to get peoples thoughts and experiences before I go out and spend 55 dollars on one.

For a Wing Rider you have to take into consideration that Cedar Point is building one next year. They are also removing Disaster Transport. As bad as I hate to say it, I would not put it past Cedar Fair to bring us another used coaster and put it in SOB's place with new theming and what not. As for my vote it goes towards a Plug N' Play. El Toro looks simply amazing and the air time looks like it is in abundance. I would not mind however a Maverick style ride, with a custom layout and maybe a slightly taller lift hill, or a Voyage type ride. Anything is an improvement on the hunk of wood sitting there right now though, a GCI also would not be a bad replacement. As long as it has it's own custom layout I will be happy with anything that goes in there.

Flight of Fear has seen better days do not get me wrong, but they added some new features here in the past couple of years and seeing as it is always backed out of the hangar area, I cannot see it going anywhere.

Vote For Kings Island in the Travel Channel's Insane Coaster Wars
Jasper replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
All I saw tonight was the wooden coaster show, having ridden 3 of the 4 being shown in the show I think for the most part the got it right. I would have loved to have seen The Beast win more than anything in the world. Did anyone else find it funny that 3 of the 4 coasters were within driving distance of each other? -
We went on a Monday and Thursday and I would recommend a Thursday due to the fact it being in the middle to late part of the week and families leaving to head home or those just arriving and not going to the park just yet.

Yep, my shift would start about 10 pm. In the winter it was pretty dead, no one in the parks at night. That was back in the days when they still had the fiberglass indians, they would store them in the fiberglass shop which was the building on the top of the hill on the other side of the fence from HB land. You'd be going thru the fiberglass shop at night with your flashlight walking thru all the indians with their hatchets and arrows and wondering which one was going to get ya! In the summer the park was busy all night, maintenance, people hosing down the walkways and cleaning the shops etc...always found people doing some interesting things on third shift...the motor house on the Flying Eagles ride comes to mind. Going thru the Enchanted Voyage you'd walk along the "canal" thru the building and check the doors and other areas. The perimeter check was interesting too, that was during the Lion Country Safari days and you'd have to go around the perimeter and check all the gates for the safari. You could shine your light into the lion pen and see all the eyeballs glowing at you. What I would give to see a point of view video of your experiences back then. I have always found Theme Parks at night when they are either closed down or closing down to be fascinating.

Got to go to Dollywood this week twice and Splash Country once and had a blast. Thunderhead has seemed to gotten a bit rougher in certain seats on the train but is still one of my overall favorite coasters. It embodies everything a classic twister woodie is. Mystery Mine has gotten a lot more rough but still a very innovative ride and the last drop is still amazing. Tennessee Tornado, one of my favorite arrow loopers. Blazing Fury actually took me by surprise as I had not rode it in a while and it is a very neat little dark coaster, very fun. Barnstormer was excellent, it was nice to ride a Screaming Swing outside of Skyhawk at CP. I was also very impressed with Dolly's Splash Country. Got to do all of the slides and each of them were amazing. Park was very hot on all the days we went, reached almost 100 degress yesterday which made for a very bare desolate Dollywood, multiple rides on all. Dollywood is an awesome park with something for everyone to enjoy. Now for the review you probably all came to this page to read, the Jurassic Jungle Boat Ride.....seriously though Wild Eagle. On the first day, Monday, we only got to ride once due to the fact they were only running one train on a very busy day. The wait was 90 minutes and we rode on the left wing second to front. Yesterday however we got to ride 4 times and could have easily gotten 10 in I would say. Rode it on each wing in the front seat and on each wing in the back seat. I have to say my favorite seat on the whole ride was the back left wing. You can really feel some floater air when it drags you over the hill and you really feel the elements of the ride. It was a unique experience riding a winged coaster, for those of you who have not rode it yet, I strongly recommend you getting to Dollywood and checking it out.

Silver Dollar City 2013 Coaster
Jasper replied to Captain Nemo's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Heard about this on In The Loop this week, I for one am going to try my hardest to get out to Branson and ride this. -
Well I have visited the park 6 times, paid for parking with my pass every time (Which I am not sure if that counts or not), and spent about 25 dollars in food and drinks at the park. Zero rewards still, I guess visiting doesn't add up as much as buying something.

Ah I love seeing the old maps from about 99-2004, really brings me back to the days when Kings Island seemed like a place that was so far away and when I got to go it was like I was on a vacation.
-
When you are in line or Flight Deck and the que line goes under the track and station look back behind the props and you can see where the old que line used to go as well.

Never knew AE had a different sign or an on ride photo. Where was the latter located at?
-
With the re-tracking I will gladly take that, The Beast is running amazing this year.

Well this would mark the second straight time for me going to Kings Island and Diamondback being down so as for what park to attend on Monday I feel as if this has made my decision pretty clear, I will be taking my talents to Santa Clause Indiana.

Me and fighting31irish were planning a visit to Holiday World on Monday but we do not want to pay the full 45 dollar gate fee. I have been looking but cannot find any websites that sell discounted tickets. Does anyone know where I can get tickets for a lower price at? I have read that Kroger sells them and maybe one other retailer.

Convo with Don Helbig 5/6/12 -- Fast Lane Question
Jasper replied to Joncars05's topic in Kings Island
Don was at the FunPerks booth today from 6:30-8 according to Twitter, did not make it out in time to talk to him but he is really going to extreme lengths to work things out for the park. He even replied to a Tweet I tweeted about the park, class act and a great guy. Keep up the awesome work Don, Jasper is behind you 100%. -
WindSeeker was testing all day today, full music and full ride cycles with no water dummies or anything.

UPDATE 5/22/12 Went to the park today from Richmond and was surprised to see that the marquee included Diamondback and Drop Tower with WindSeeker. I thought this was going to make for a miserable day due to 3 rides being down and other lines suffering. Drop Tower was up and running fully functional by at least 11-11:30 I think, got 5 cycles on it no problems. Diamondback still had 3 trains in the sheds and showed no signs all day of anything. Turned out to be one of the best days I have had at the park. WindSeeker was also testing all day going up down full ride cycles, music and all. Thought it might open later in the day but it did not, just test cycles all day.

Word to the wise for iPhone users, turn your 3G off and go to Edge, slower but the signal always goes out.

Read the first one about 40 times probably and really enjoyed it even though the plot is a little cliche. As for the second one I believe I have read it before once but for the life of me I cannot remember what the plot is about.

It would be really nice to see this rolled out chain wide so you could use the perks for all the parks if you had a Platinum Pass like I do. With visits to both Cedar Point and Kings Island the points would really start to add up. Plus a free or even discounted Fast Lane Pass for Cedar Point would not be too raw of a deal.
