  1. Dangerous, hazardous chemicals! So that's what they use to make the ghosts in the Haunted Mansion!
  2. I did neither this year and last - I had no money coming in to save and no money to pay credit cards if I had charged anything - so I stayed home and took virtual rides on YouTube and such. It certainly wasn't as fun, but, like Harry Callahan once said, "A man's got to know his own limitations"!
  3. I own that tape. Yup - good old skid brakes! And no on ride photos yet!
  4. May you only know good times!
  5. There's a spellcheck at the top of this reply box - it says ABC with a checkmark under it.
  6. Does anyone ever use spellcheck? Eye thinck knot!
  7. Hey - they could get rid of Congo Falls & Timberwoods and move Top Gun to that site! (just joking)
  8. Every week there is a new story in the paper or on TV saying that people in the USA are getting heavier and heavier - not exercising, eating too much fast food, etc. Maybe we should start ordering coasters from AMERICAN companies instead of the skinny Europeans. But, then again, my KIA Rio has more room than my Chevy Cavalier!
  9. I must also add that one's torso size can affect the fit. The distance from my shoulders to my tailbone is quite long and therefore some of the restraints simply won't fit - making me too tall to ride. But like I said, somehow Runaway Reptar accomodates me with no problem, as does Flight of Fear, Fairly Odd Coaster, and everything else (I haven't tried Firehawk yet).
  10. I can't ride MF, TTD, WT, Mantis, Raptor, Sky Hawk, Maverick, or MaxAir. (I'm 6' 4" and 280 pounds) I used to be able to ride MF, Mantis & Raptor, but they chnaged the restraints. At KI, I fit on everything, even Runaway Reptar. Go figure!
  11. At amusement parks in communist countries, if you light up in an area other than the designated smoking area, the shoot you! Just kidding. I agree - there is more to the story...hence the refusal to comment by the park.
  12. I guess you're right, Delirium_Guy. What I should have made clearer was that this pay fast pass is yet another way for them to make money. And don't get me wrong - I love Disney World and I really enjoy doing the whole Disney experience - staying "on grounds", park your car and ride the shuttles, DownTown Disney, etc. - I just don't like being taken advantage of because I had to stay at their "value resorts".
  13. I am hearing a big sucking noise coming from Orlando - not unlike that made by a thousand Hoovers and Eurekas all running at once!
  14. I can walk a little bit. I usually use a cane when I do so. I also have a wheelchair and a motorized scooter (three wheel). When the day begins, I can walk from the parking lot to the store (or the ticket booth) and that's about it. After that, I need my chair or scooter. As the day goes on, I could probably wait in line for a couple of rides - probably. Then, I would be dependant of the vehicles. To look at me, even when I'm standing or walking a few steps, you'd think there was nothing wrong. I can even walk into the restrooms by myself without anyone knowing I have a disability. So let me stand next to you in some line and I'll knock you over when I collapse on your ass! Then will you know I have a disability? Sure, I would like to ride The Beast more than once, but I realize that my disability allows me to board right away without waiting in line. So, I don't abuse the system. Matter of fact, the rest of my party goes thru the regular like and we wait for them to reach the station before we board the train. See - I'm actually waiting for my turn just like everyone else. I can imagine that the "urban folk tale" of people renting/bringing wheelchairs to breeze thru queue lines is true. Just remember, you don't know for sure what a person's problem is. I pray to God that you people never have to suffer from an auto accident like I did. Drive carefully and wear your seatbelts and don't drive if you've been drinking.

    eek! Top gun!

First of all, I wish you people would get off the "just get rid of something" kick (a shame we live in such a disposable world!). Top Gun is one of the only suspended coasters still around. There is a certain pride a park has for variety of rides. Secondly, the license for the name can come and go - it will have nothing to do with the ride having to be removed. Thirdly, anything can be repaired and that's what the ride needs - a little sprucing-up. And lastly, some of the old suspended coasters have received new trains - ski lift type ala Face Off. Even a few of those have been turned around so you ride backwards. Lots of life left in these classics. (or maybe we should remove The Racer because the lines are short, it's old and needs paint ----see how ignorant and stupid that sounds!!!!)
  17. My biggest gripe about the park is the overabundance of asphalt, which tires your legs out quickly, and the lack of shade trees, which provide relief from the glaring sun. I could forgive the park back in 1973 because it was new, but those trees should be big by now and a little concrete could go a long way.
  18. New name...PITA (pain in the ass)! Or, better yet...Big Nothing!
  19. As I've said before... I think it will be Richard Kinzel worship spaces, complete with statue (11 ft. tall). Canada has never seen anything like it. O, Canada! And Hershey will build a huge Hershey Bar slide - with and without almonds! What a sweet idea.

    Abnormal Lines

I have always felt that the water rides - Wild Thornberrys, Kenton's Cove, Congo Falls, and White Water Canyon - always have extremely long waits. Anybody else think the same?
  21. White Water Landing at Cedar Point was the same ride.
  22. If people quit going to the parks and quit spending money when they do go, you watch - CF will come up with something to make it work better - for us and for them. (Maybe they'll have to outsource the ride operator positions to people from India or China)
  23. Why does the park close so early in August? Has this always been the case? Will they stay open, but just advertize that the park closes early?
  24. It's all because they took out the loop!
