  1. Can we go back in time and make that happen(somewhat)....Carolina Cyclone has developed some interesting wobbles in the train or structure. My wife went deaf for a couple days in one ear after riding Cyclone, she won't get back on it. Replace Cyclone with a new Thunder Road....
  2. Just noting that Zamperla has announced that this is Not one of their rides, it is a copycat that bears some resemblance to their Disk-o.
  3. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/files/dw131.jpg Just noting that Arrow's track changed over the years, I read on a old CoasterBuzz topic that you can Id Vekoma track by two bolts just outside the rail. Well, Arrow done it too....here is the proof.
  4. Arrow manufactured Vekoma designed in the United States, Vekoma manufactured Arrow designs in Europe at one point. To my knowledge some of the early Boomerangs(like the one at Knotts) had both the track and trains made by Arrow. The Bat at Canada's Wonderland has an Arrow train. I also suspect they shared designs for their other rides like the Arrow Magic Room, Arrow built one for Carowinds and one for Hersheypark.
  5. Hmm, Cedar Fair didn't install gates on the new toll plaza at Carowinds. Emerald Pointe(NC) let me drive through the parking lot without paying the first time I went. I didn't have anything but a debit card(which the booths didn't take) and wasn't aware of a parking fee. Rather than go to the ATM, get money and pay for parking, I simply drove home by my choice.
  6. Nighthawk pushed Carowinds over 2.1 million in 2004, attendance went to 2.14 million in 2005. Attendance went flat in 2006 and stayed below 2 million in 2014.
  7. I think it will, sorry I hope I am wrong. I really love Log Flumes because they don't get you soaking wet like Shoot-The-Chutes style rides do.
  8. Reinhofter Shows pays 7.25 an hour for anyone to to assemble and disassemble rides, no experience required. They randomly pick from what ever locals show up on time at each location. Half of those that showed up when I went one year were on drugs.
  9. Carnival rides also fail state inspections more often that rides at parks in NC, one year half of Reinhofter's rides at our local fair failed NC Dept of Labor Inspection. Several rides had needed welding among other repairs. To my knowledge, Ricochet at Carowinds is the amusement park ride to ever fail state inspection. NC failed the ride because the cars didn't stop in the station, the state forced the park to reprogram the ride to stop in the station. Most Mack Rides mouse coasters are programmed for continuous movement during loading and unloading. Boomerang Bay also had two waterslide towers fail state inspection one season.
  10. Temptest or Hustler also called "Storm" http://www.flatrides.com/rides/tempest.html http://www.flatrides.com/rides/hustler.html
  11. Hmm, I was wrong about who bumped this thread. I guess that means nothing to see here.
  12. Is the Florida Tower of Terror going to be rethemed like California..... Of course, there is that contract between Marvel and Univerisal..... Contracts can be broken for a price.....
  13. I worked this ride during Winterfest 2005, we had to do an emergency evacuation after an E-stop for a similar reason. During the evacuation everyone has to be careful of the power rail, even with the power off there could be enough residual current leftover to give you a good shock or worse.
  14. Disney's Florida Adventure? I suspect there is a lot more changes coming to this park than we we know about.
  15. Maybe why WWC is closed or is this normal every season?
  16. Which would still require land clearing and digging...
  17. Possible key hole reference?
  18. Carowinds doesn't chain down their Arrow coasters, in fact We used to have push Goldrusher some morning to get the train roll on its own out of the station and brake run.
  19. Yep and I am finally going to sell the first Onerail coaster I designed in High School, that looks similar to RMC Trex track except the rail of 1/3 the width of the car.
  20. Meanwhile said visitor is holding an iPhone in his hand taking video, other than the visitor's hand(and this is stretching it) there is no safety device to keep said iPhone from getting loose and injuring him or his son let alone an innocent bystander. "Judge not, that ye be not judged"
  21. Welcome to KIC!At this point, anything is possible... but I don't think many would be disappointed if whatever it is ends up being as good as Tbunderbird. I think Ryan and Don switched places.....
  22. How did the park know how many people played that day?
  23. Preparations for 2018 Giga coaster? I am pretty certain that the 2017 window is out the window. Carowinds starting moving Skycoaster after the 2013 season, Skycoaster opened for 2014 in a new location replacing the Peanuts Meet and Greet.
  24. Carowinds had the entire fiberglass flume redone with Rhinoliner which is a fiberglass material that is sprayed on. I have it in the bed of my S10, Carowinds done this as a rehab for the Log Flume in Winter 2003, Flume was removed after the 2008 season. I am unsure as to what Hopkins did to Kings Mill Flume, however I would love to know.
  25. Doesn't mean that is all they are getting.....Would they really start teasing flats this early...
