  1. NoLimits either 1 or 2, it means diddly.
  2. Did Turnpike ever reopen like they said?
  3. Beast was built in house I believe. That also explains the red color of Beast that I figured was wood stain. What about Racer? Looking unpainted wood, looks like it ain't redwood.
  4. Just noting that Thunder Road was Southern Yellow Pine and that it was likely grown in the Carolinas..... I do not know if PTC used SYP for all coasters.
  5. I went to YouTube after I posted....Wow, that is a lot of steps!
  6. I am confused, wouldn't the elevator be required for ADA or is it not that kind of elevator?
  7. Goodness ain't no shortness of rides like Winterfest had. That was one of the complaints I heard at Carowinds..."why ain't ___ open?" Carowinds kept a small handful of rides ready for Winterfest but never had the crowds to open them. I think Goldrusher, Peanuts Pirates, Crabbie Cabbie and Whirlybirds were on the list. Woodstock Express had it's trains left on the track but I think they decided it was too cold.
  8. I wonder if maybe they over expanded the park too quickly.
  9. That is sad, I was really cheering for this park especially since Starliner used to promoted as being rebuilt.
  10. Sad to see it finally go, but hoping on ride it's replacement in a few years.
  11. I never blamed Cedar Fair, as a matter of fact I have stated before that I believe the paint removal in the 90s is where it started. Is their a Tarheel in this house like a certain Carowinds fansite? I blame Carowinds, point blank.
  12. Lack of proper maintenance.....which caused structural issues. The lift hill need millions of dollars of repairs. Has Racer or Beast ever had whole sections of their structure replace all the way to the footers?
  13. Carowinds is my home park and I am quite disappointed/upset/cross at the park over the removal of so much history. Thunder Road is absolutely unforgivable for me, so much that I refuse to renew my family's season passes. I went 12 times last season(mostly because of Thunder Road), only once since Thunder Road closed. We normally go 6 times a year but I wanted to feel like I got my goodbyes to Thunder Road. Each visit(minus this last one)I always made to eat in the park atleast once but since I don't agree with the decision to remove so much history, why should I support them by buying food and gifts from them? In addition to Thunder Road, there was the Plantation House, the riverboat, log flume(atleast Intimidator was worth losing Log Flume), the shortening twice of the Crown Metal Products 2 feet gauge train. I might get discount tickets next year and go, but it will only be once. Fury 325 and Intimidator are wonderful coasters but Thunder Road held a lot of memories. Now all there is.....is memories. #NeverForgetThunderRoad Ok, end of rant.
  14. Nighthawk's biggest flaw is the lack of flying track. I imagine Firehawk is way better thanks to the improved ending.
  15. Probably Goldrusher, Cyclone or Woodstock Express.
  16. http://www.enquirer.com/editions/2000/09/06/loc_kings_island.html I dug up this article. Torture Tower sounds interesting, anyone remember information about how that worked?
  17. Carowinds rented the SCarowinds props for 2000-2002 seasons.
  18. Supposedly Dorney Park as GM before and now after Carowinds.
  19. Nope, one side was used as parts to keep the other side running until 2013 when the running side was remodeled for Dinos. Apparently Cedar Fair thinks they can get Carowinds attendance on the level of KI/CW. I think they are overpromising to the shareholders.
  20. Knotts has bounced back from Cedar Fair doing more harm than good, I believe it is like a pet project for Matt Ouimet. Plus there is more and steeper competition.
  21. I want a GM that can get Carowinds a good wooden coaster, Hurler is just crap poor.
  22. If I was renewing my family's season passes I would get the dining plan.
  23. I heard management at MiA had a falling out with Chance, so I wouldn't count on it.For a park that had a "falling out" with Chance they still have a lot of their products including one roller coaster. I count 8 rides atleast(including their D.H. Morgan(now a part of Chance Rides)) that are Chance Rides products. Carowinds on the other hand has one with another two more than were recently removed plus one or two removed in the 80s.If I had a "falling out" with a company I would be dumping my products of their that would cause me to interact with them.
  24. Hmm, a toilet bowl maybe?
  25. "What you talking about" Mr. Interp(In my best Gary Coleman voice)
