Topic already being discussed in great detail here.... http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?...&start=1110 I would add your above post to the discussion.

Did you work there when they had the foot barrels installed on the bottom of the lap bar restraints? It's kind of hard to put a back pack on the floor there. I also never understood the backpack at the park idea unless you were a parent or something, if I ever have a bag with me, it's usually a camera bag and I reinforce the padding around the camera inside so I can take it with me on a ride (depending on the ride of course), not to mention I secure it, having first hand seen what happens when even a small point and shoot camera gets away from a guest and goes backwards.

Brown, before you criticize anyone for making a typo, maybe you should read the article first.... The article is talking about the renewed popularity of Draughts, or more commonly called "checkers". It was really bad last season, but this season Carowinds officials are so worried that so many folks will be staying at home to play Draughts that they won't even have enough guests in their park to warrant opening the water park. You know its an off day when The Interpreter makes a typo

My only problem with the name Flight Deck is that I think of an actual Flight Deck....an aircraft sitting on the top level of an aircraft carrier. Sure, that works fine for Top Gun's theme....but what theming did Top Gun really have anymore? Some billboards with the planes on them I guess. But I think it would have been better just naming it a generic CF hawk name like "Skyhawk" and giving it some new paint.

I can answer yes to both of those... (Although, I usually think of "Congo" in terms of the Michael Crichton novel first, and the Paramount movie second...) To add to your polling, though, I wonder how many know what a "Risk" board is! I can answer yes to both of Elmer's questions and I can accept your challenge to play Risk JZ!

Sure, they're routinely revamping the site to be in line with the other Cedar Fair websites

haha thanks KIBeast. We're all pretty busy this of fseason, I'm sure everything will be taken care off shortly. -Gordon Bombay, who, on 3 hours of sleep, is waiting for a philosophy test to begin, then will fix names in the photo gallery.

As stated, twice, on page 2 (of 3) in this topic...

Well, now that we're all getting along. I'm with you KIfan......back to the discussion at hand... I know recently Valleyfair had some trouble with folks they found in some tunnels underneath their park.

If I am a park owner investing quite a good deal of money in a new product such as B&M's new (at the time) stand up coaster, I'm expecting it to be a good product that will draw guests and keep them coming back, guests don't do that for a ride with a rough, crappy reputation just as B&M did not go around at the time saying "Hey we got a cool new design, but its our first so EXPECT it to be bad". You have a lot to learn.

Well someone's gotta babysit the 13 year olds when their parents aren't watching what they do on the net

Thats a matter of opinion. King Cobra was great, sky rider at wonderland is also really good. Their slightly modified cousin at King's Dominion is not the smoothest ride. Vortex at Carowinds is smooth, yet pretty boring, while B&M stand ups like Chang and Mantis are horrid.

And you still seem to have some trouble following them. Topic Closed.

Hey, your the one who asked.

Cory wasn't here in 72, and he learned that.

Delorean Rider, do you know the guy who took that photo set on Flickr?

^Thats, where the King Cobra track used to be. I recomend it, its a pretty scenic area back there. As you start to drive along Western Row Rd. you start to pass some really nice and really big houses... Wouldn't you love to have Kings Island in your backyard? Then you eventually reach Little Miami State Park... Which has some picnic areas and such. It's really nice down here especially with how close you are to the river, a nice change of pace from all the comotion of the park... The noise from the above bridge is a little loud though, but if you like architecture, it's pretty cool. I don't know what road takes you to it or where the bridge goes but I wonder what kind of view you can get of the back of the park from it. And, if you head up river on the other side of the park, you can see the historic King's Cartridge Company factory while walking along the bike path... Mike, are these the kind of huts you are referring to... Most of the King Cobra track is now gone, there were never plans to rebuild it or sell it as a ride after it was scrapped. The trains still remain at the park though.

Back when Paul Brown Stadium was being built there was an idea for a light rail, above ground, train line that would run around Cincinnati/Newport/and eventually out to Kings Island/Kings Mills depending on how tourist destinations developed. The plans for this were canceled and I believe are being reviewed as part of the Banks project. In 2002 Cincinnati had on their ballots a plan to approve a light rail system around the University of Cincinnati that would eventually span out around downtown/uptown, then in another phase around sections of I-275, then in a third phase, a rail line out along I-71 to Kings Mills/Mason. Even the first phase of this was defeated horribly on the ballot.

No, to do so is tresspassing. You can drive back to the river landing where Western Row ends but thats about as far as you can go.

I think you mean farmhouse and silo? That sir is no farmhouse . That's actually the remains of one of the old Wild Animal Habitat buildings and the silo was used to store grain to feed the animals. If you look at the similar barn by the ghoster coaster parts out behind Son of Beast, that too was an old Wild Animal Habitat barn, but was retrofitted with steel siding in 1999 to house spare parts and supplies for the wood coaster department to provide quick and and easy access to the Son of Beast without having to travel all the way back to one of the other wood coaster shops when they needed spare parts. emobeaver, I'm not sure what creepy old hotel you are referring to? Perhaps a picture or some coordinates... For anyone looking to to go walking along those paths today, I don't reccomend it. Much of that area by the river is people's backyards and private property, I drove down there with my camera one summer and ended up talking with a gentlemen who was out on his front porch and had this huge transformer station on the edge of his property, he pointed out to me where Kings Island's land ends and where you can being to see the KI fence. Kings Island is nestled into a very interesting area.

Depending on whenever this thing actually opens, I'd consider applying as an operator depending on what I'm doing in life (I love my current job). Boddah and I were discussing what would happen if a car struck a pillar how it would affect the monorail. I bet its a common occurance with how close some people were flying across the parking lot and almost hit us. -Gordon Bombay, who just saw the Giant's miss ANOTHER field goal and will respond to PM's, IM's, and email after the Giants (hopefully) win in over time. Even though it doesn't matter cause the pats will crush whoever wins this game.
