Flying Eagle!
-
Intimidator and DB are similar besides the scenery (DB wins that one!). MF is in a whole other category though! I agree. I prefer Diamondback and Intimidator.
-
Mt. Olympus? They have 4 wooden coasters. 10861 Feet, I think.
-
The trains are NOT the same ones. They are both PTC trains but different regardless.
-
That is completely false. Behemoth and Leviathan provide completely different ride experiences. I have ridden each of them at least 25 times and can say that Behemoth and Diamondback are very similar rides. Leviathan is completely different. This ride is more of a twister with occasional airtime (extremely strong floater air). Think Millennium Force with much, much stronger airtime. This is most unique B&M coaster I have been on. Diamondback, Intimidator and Behemoth are airtime machines. Think smoother versions of Magnum XL-200. To be honest, I prefer Intamin Hyper/Giga coasters. A giga version of Bizarro would be perfect.

Why would KI relocate rides within the park? Why spend the money for doing this?
-
Sounds painful. My ride on Dominator or Batman Knight Flight did anything to my behind. Bizarro (SFGAd), Batman (SFNE), Scream, Hydra all seem more or less similar experience to Inverted coasters such as Afterburn or Raptor. This is not a bad thing but nowhere near the thrill I get from Leviathan, Diamondback or Intimidator. Who know. This may be a launch 4D winged stand up coaster.

That is a relief. Yes. The red Racer is really running well. The Beast is actually smoother this year.

70 year old man takes 7,000 roller coaster ride
Rustbucket replied to khaoskat's topic in Kings Island
Gary. I usually see him on Diamondback although I have not seen him that much this year. I guess that is around 2000 times a year. I am not sure if Darlene still counts the rides. She has not talked about the counts for over a year. I stopped after 2500 which was earlier this year. -
I remember seeing the Travel Channel show. That was the year I rode Drop Zone around 600 times. Son of Beast around 500 times, I still miss SoB. The 214 feet drop on the wooden coaster was incredible. The rose bowl was the jack hammering monster, however. I do not know of any wooden coaster that has over 100 feet drop into a banked turn stood up well over the years. The loop was probably my favorite and possibly the smoothest part of the ride.

Nice. We recently did 6 parks in 4 days trip. Adding KI on the 5th day. Lakemont, Delgrosso, Hershey, Knoebels, Canada's Wonderland, and Conneaut Lake Park. It was tiring but well worth the trip. Leap the Dips was quite a treat.

Most of the coasters, I prefer the back or near the back. The Beast? The next to the last row. Most wooden coasters I ride in the MIDDLE seats. If not available, I go for the front seat of the last car. There have been only 3 coasters that I truly felt were the best front seat rides: Shivering Timbers, X or X 2, and Dragging Iron (or is it Iron Dragon).
-
Not sure about this. Suspended coasters have rather short life span. Long live Eagle Fortress and Big Bad Wolf.
-
I must be a hyper junky. I LIKE(d) THEM ALL. OK, I have not been to Fujiyama, yet. Magnum, Diamondback, Bizarro are all on my top 10 steel list. Also, I really really did like Son of Beast although the time has passed to save this woody. Sonny's Revenge, anyone? Not to be technical, Millennium Force was the first to open but second to be designed. Steel Dragon 2000 was the first to be designed. Due to extreme engineering requirements for Japan's building code (earthquakes), SD 2000 took longer to be built.
-
Really? Somehow, I always thought Steel Dragon 2000 is a Giga; Bizarro (SFNE) and Ride of Steel (DL) is a hyper as well as Son of Beast. BTW, Magnum, Phantoms Revenge and Desperado are Arrow design. Steel Dragon, Mamba and Steel Force are Morgan (although related). Bizarro and Ride of Steel are Intamin. Raging Bull, Diamondback ... are B&M. Of course, they have different designs.

What is your Backlot Stunt Coaster Expirience?
Rustbucket replied to mccarthysnerd's topic in KI Polls
I agree completely! I still ride the Eagle at Carowinds though. They let you "rip" the cords. -
I have not been very impressed with Winged Coasters. I hope that Cedar Point one will be better than Wild Eagle or X-Flight.
-
Bizarro at SFNE. The auction ride was today. I will post the pictures later today. Season pass day tonight. It is rather cold so not very busy. I have been on it 12 times so far.
-
I was on the 3rd train of the auction ride. I was on 3-1. The lift hill took around 55 seconds. The drop of 308 feet were quite smooth. I think this drop is better than MF's. Technically, tHe seccond hill is an inverted bank. The third hill is a small one yet is the best air time hill. It is also a slight turn to left with a head chopper. This is the favorite part of the ride. The fourth hill is the air time hill also. The hammer head and bank turn was really unique. Overall, this is the most unique B & M coaster I have been on. Not Bizarro but better than Behemoth or Diamondback. Very impressed indeed. This is my favorite B&M coaster.

Leviathan Auction Ride
Rustbucket replied to Rustbucket's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
The auction minimum bid went from $175 to $255 in 15 minutes. My $235 bid was gone around 11:57 am. My final bid was $261. This was 76th. I will post the review on Friday. The auction ride is scheduled for 2 pm. EDT. -
Anyone going to Canada's Wonderland for the Leviathan auction ride?

What are your plans for the 2012 Season?

Thanks. I will definitely put these on my list. Leap the Dips is a must. -

Already Done Planet Snoopy - January Dollywood - March Carowinds - April Planned Canada's Wonderland - Auction ride on 4/27 Dorney - Knoebels - Hershey - Kennywood in June SFGAm - September KI - Many weekends BTW, anyone else going to Canada's Wonderland on 4/27? -
There are many coasters I have ridden that were more uncomfortable than SoB (to me anyway). I rather enjoyed SoB. Once I rode that BEAST 15 times in a row.
-
To me, Wild Eagle was not as intense as I hoped it would be. Left side was a far better ride that the right. It was quite interesting that my arms were hitting the tree branches when I was on the right side. This ride was less intense than Hydra at Dorney Park. I still much prefer Thunderhead over Wild Eagle. I will check out X-Flight at SFGAm for a comparison.
