Announced last night, the Ark Encounter will begin construction this summer of Phase 1 and will be open by 2016. Phase 1 will include a full size version of Noah's Ark (well Ken Ham's vision of the Ark). http://arkencounter.com

The New Kentucky Kingdom will be lucky if it turns out like Geauga Lake after CF purchased it.

^ Exactly, not only is it a bad choice but then to promote it in one of the few news segments the New Kentucky Kingdom has had. Once again their lack of knowledge or denial of the past history of KK is baffling to say the least.

Where at KI, SC is not the draw but a nice addition or break during the heat.

^ That show does not fit with the family friendly atmosphere of KI

Not a single mention or image of Lightning Run or its construction site during the video or article. Which is to be the signature attraction/coaster this year. Instead the focus is on FearFall. A new drop ride at a park that had a very tragic accident with its previous drop ride. Good work Kentucky Kingdom, your PR and Marketing department are doing a stellar job. Lets focus on this new drop ride that the majority of the general public will think is the one that maimed a young girl only 6 or 7 years ago. I find this all very sad, I wish the park success, but the decisions they continue to make are very questionable.

People had the same doubts regarding the Creation Museum, but it has done very well. I see no reason this will not be as successful.

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at WDW

Love how this ride is coming together. -
Is it just me or does that track look very tiny, especially the rails? Then again watching something the size of Banshee unfold may skew my judgement.

82 Pages of discussion about the New Kentucky Kingdom and like Terpy said they were upset with some well deserved criticism. 82 pages of discussion is more generated PR than "They" have done for their park... Some may say what is the value in a site like this? Ever wonder why KI PR is very interested with the goings on within this site? Sites like this and others can be a great asset for parks, if properly managed. This is not the Field of Dreams, just because you build it does not mean people will come: See Hard Rock Park...

Just some Windex on the giant mirror. Welcome back chef...

Hope the weather holds out for them. I am amused that a member of this site has done more PR work with these photos than the entire KK staff when it comes to Lightning Run. I find it all very strange.

Cheetah Hunt leaves riders stuck
RailRider replied to Browntggrr's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Good job on the fire departments part on getting everyone out safely. At that height, plus 30 degree angle, during a thunderstorm is not an ideal situation for a rescue. BGT needs to work the PR machine now, because news outlets are too willing to spin a situation like this in a very negative way -
My wife and I went on our First Date Friday October 13th, which was at FearFest. Best part of the night was her holding on tight at the top of the Torture Tower. Maybe that is why I have such fond memories of that attraction.

Speaking of containers shipping trains. What do you think the shipping bill is on the trains? Something interesting to think about.

Disney Fastpass+ at Walt Disney World
RailRider replied to bkroz's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Rumor has it that FastPass+ has been testing with the original 3 reservation limit with a + 1 option once you use those 3 in the park. Will be interesting to see how this develops. -
When I saw these two hot sauces, I thought there should be a Banshee Hot Sauce and Frostbite from CaJohns would be perfect for a Banshee branded hot sauce. Plus it is made in Columbus Ohio. Image provided by https://www.cajohns.com/store/Frostbite-White-Hot-Sauce?search=frostbite

2 things from the picture posted. First time I have noticed that tree sitting so close to the track. Nice to see it was kept and Second I love the Arch the train goes under as it exits the station. Very cool detail.

^ This is great news for the park. I hope vertical erection goes smoothly for KK. Still amazed at the lack of a web cam or even pictures during construction. This is what it would feel like if a coaster was built at Area 51. Maybe they need volunteers to set up the web cam and take pictures?

Loaded the home page this morning and through Chrome the Most Recent Forums on the side did not load, also the formatting is off. Loaded the page through IE and it looks better. New layout update?

Disney Fastpass+ at Walt Disney World
RailRider replied to bkroz's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Least crowded times to go to Disney. It is a bit of a false statement, because even a less busy time of year will have certain days where certain parks are packed. But the best times in general are when kids are in school. Which given the fact your wife teaches makes that difficult so her are some other thoughts. Early May is still good, avoid Memorial Day. October is typically less crowded, but special MNSSHP can raise crowds to the Kingdom. Also November and December are less crowded but avoid those 2 big holidays. But if you must visit in the dead of Summer it is still vary doable. The crowds at the 4 parks will vary on any given day during a week. For example we visited the World last year in July the week after the 4th. While it is one of the most crowded times to visit Disney we did it by scheduling our park visits on days those parks were not going to be as crowded. Got there early and were ahead of the crowds all day. The longest line we waited in our entire trip was for Rope Drop at each park. Never more than 5 or 10 minutes for a ride. There are many sites out there that will help you plan what days to visit what parks like Undercover Tourist and easywdw.com. I use to be a subscriber to TourGuideMike but that place went under quickly so now I do a lot of planning from past experience and advice from easywdw.com Let me know what questions you have. Send a PM with any. Also check out the PTRs in my signature for some great Magic you can create with a proper Disney plan.
