  1. I agree with your assesment. Ryan the Ride Mechanic 3 hours ago posted on YouTube that he will have a "new Top thrills 2 video tomorrow" at 2:30 CST. He included a picture of a portion of what looks like a letter/email on Zamperla letterhead with the sent date of Thursday May 16, 2(it cuts off) to Ryan at his email and the Subject is Top Thrills 2 opening da(cuts off again). Plus over on PointBuzz there are multiple reports of 2 of the trains cycling today. I'm guessing they will move heavan and Earth to try and get this up by Memorial Day weekend next week. Although I think alot of people have already re-arranged their plans to later in the summer. Interesting times indeed.
  2. This post reminded me of Steve Martin in the Jerk when he's describing what prizes are available to winners. “Ah, anything in this general area right in here. Anything below the stereo and on this side of the Bicentennial glasses. Anything between the ashtrays and the thimbles. Anything in this three inches. Right in here, this area, that includes the Chiclets but not the erasers.”
  3. I'm not too sure about the wait time being exteremly long. Basically because of the restrictions. Most people will need to get a locker and those will be at a premium this year. My guess is it won't hit 2 hours untill word spreads or they do a SV type locker system.
  4. Well, with media day over it's encouraging that I haven't seen or heard of any issues with the ride itself. We'll see how this holds up next weekend but I'm pretty impressed with no "bumps" in the road. Nice job CP and Zamperla. Hope it stays up so I can get a ride on my 55th birthday when I'm up there May 29th!
  5. I have not yet found it. It's one thing that I'm missing from last year (albeit it was off). You can see how many days you have visited if you look at the terminal when you go thourgh the gate, After they click ok an arrow shows up with a number. That number is the number of days you have visited this season. It would also be nice for the app to track how many drinks and meals have been used. It could, for example, show the last TIME each was used therefore taking the guess work out of how long until you can have a meal/drink. Lastly there needs to be a way to tell the difference between the Drink Plan and the Drink Plan + on the app. Hopefully these can be suggestions they can take and put in to improve on an already improved app.
  6. Looks like NFC to me. Could be compatible with a watch or phone. Just make sure that your phone is secure when riding the coaster. They could include them in the season pass (like with your bank card). I think when prices get low enough they will just do NFC tags. They are cheap enough now to put in a type of "magic band" and would operate much quicker than the QR Code.
  7. Went yesterday and also had the beef and potatoes and it was good. Noticed also that burnt ends are back at Coney BBQ. Interested in trying the new "quick serve" at Juke Box Diner. With the lines last year it definitely needed it but am wonderinig if quality will suffer. Hopefully not as the double stack is my favorite burger in the park. There also seems to be some confusion on where the Drink Plan Icees are redeemed. Will try and find out more today, but I did notice some people not able to use the "deluxe" drink plan (the one that included icees and coffee/hot chocolate) at the icee stand next to the french corner at the end of I Street. I overheard people saying there were 4 other places. Hope to find out more today, although it will be a little chilly for icees
  8. Good I would hate to see them having to do an E-stop on the carousel for this.
  9. Didn't think phones were allowed to be used on rides at KI
  10. Looking at the cameras this morning (as I do every morning) noticing the landscaping around surf dog and behind it is being redone.
  11. Fantastic refresh. As a programmer myself I admire the effort and the (reasonably) smooth rollout!
  12. Were the Winterfest Wands a hint of this with their bubbles? Also can you use the Wands during the show
  13. Only during "Prestige Only shows"
  14. I agree but this show just seems to waste an opportunity for a proper stage producton. I'm sure the show will be fine, I just think it would be better in the small theatre in Planet Snoopy. Not sure how re-watchable it will be but I'll be willing to give it a chance.
  15. Another sign of opening day getting closer....Woodstock Whirlybirds are on the track!
  16. Looks like WindSeeker is testing this morning. Another sign that opening day 2024 is getting close
  17. Yea I would agree, unfortunately. In the past 40 years there has been too many mergers that create monopolies, mostly because of businesses giving influencing our politics on both sides (thanks citizens united). Toatally runining the ability of free markets to keep down prices.
  18. Totally agree. Part of this is the result of the passes being extended an additional year. CF won me when they made that decision as early as they did. Season passes are still the best deal around for the money.
  19. I can understand them looking into it but I would be worried about a monopoly being formed. SIX and FUN remaining seperate would keep the capitalist gear of competition going to help drive down prices. Remember the game Monopoly was originally invented to warn AGAINST the formation of monopoies. Capitalism completely falls apart without competition. That being said it could be seen that even with the merger competition would still exist between the new entity and smaller parks, zoos and other forms of entertainment. Just a thought.
  20. Alot of activity at Camp Snoopy this AM. Saw sparks flying at one point. Looks like we could be going vertical soon.
  21. I'm a little concerned about mixing CF and SIX IP's at the same park. With as often as parks seem to be trading hands the more IP's at a park the messier and possibly less lucrative the sale would be (having to re-name rides aka when CF bought Paramount). With CF and SIX being a merger I can see each keeping with their own IP's. (Can you imagine if they renamed Orion to the Blue Beetle? lol)
  22. Absolutely agree. Fantastic finish. I don't mind the coaster line-up for Winterfest. I'm going there for lights, shows, food and atomosphere. The coasters are just a bonus and it wouldn't bother me at all if they were not open for the event. That being said I do wonder if they will have Soapbox open for Winterfest next year. Havinig a kids coaster open for Winterfest, in my opinion, would be a nice addition and not leave out the kids on riding a coaster in cold weather
  23. My favorite offering at Winterfest is the Meatloaf burger at the Brewhouse. The tangy ketchup and cheese is amazing and it litterally tastes like a meatloaf in burger form. Went to the park twice this Winterfest just to have it!
  24. Actually 8 (theres one on the a six flags theme park)
