Thanks for clarifying. That was one of the rides I operated when I worked at KI in 2005, but I couldn't remember where it originally was.
-
I took three years of German in high school and wouldn't have known to pronounce it like "Hoos".
-
If I'm remembering correctly, that ride was located approximately where the Snoopy/Woodstock bench is now. You can see the bumper cars in the background. The ride itself is still there (sans original Hampton vehicles). It got moved over on the other side of the kiddy cars for the 2006 Nick Central expansion. It's now called Peanuts Off Road Rally.

GREAT AMERICA STADIUM DEAL!

I'm assuming once the move is complete they'll be changing their name to the Santa Clara 49ers. Let's just hope that they don't end up like the Angels did (I don't know why it was necessary to have "Los Angeles" in their name if they couldn't drop the "Anaheim" part for legal reasons). -

I could be wrong, as I haven't been there in several years either. I just remember that in 2006, when I worked at Dippin Dots, their small Dippin Dots was cheaper than the equivalent size at KI (though at the time, that was also the only size they offered - they started selling three sizes in 2007 as I recall). -
I vaguely remember seeing that show as a kid. Any idea when that was taken out, or where it was in relation to current rides/attractions?
-
Apparently that happened in 1977. A Google search for more info turned up this blog post about it from 2006: http://booksteveslibrary.blogspot.com/2006/01/dinah-at-kings-island.html

They're all like that. They "stand up" like that mostly when confronted.

Why does it matter if you can't find it in your local area? Dixie, Goldstar and Skyline can all be ordered online and shipped straight to your door. If you're really hungry, you can also order Blue Ash Chili by the gallon or half gallon, but that's not exactly cheap, especially considering they charge you $78 for overnight shipping...

King Cobra was put in before Paramount owned the park. The colors mimic those of the coaster's namesake:

Soak City Construction Continues

The Beach still seems to be doing quite well, though they don't release sales/attendance figures (at least not that I know of), so it's hard to say. I doubt CF would be interested in the park though - there's a lot more money to be made at KI, and The Beach would go broke if they tried some of the stuff CF has done (overpriced food/lockers, turning the waterpark into more of a concrete jungle, etc.). As far as adding new stuff, they just opened a new area last year where "Snake River Rapids" was (back corner of the park): http://www.fox19.com/story/14910661/new-attractions-open-wednesday-at-the-beach -
You two don't know what you're missing.... Dixie is best (though I haven't had Empress or Blue Ash yet, so I can't comment on those )

The building in the middle on top is currently home to I-Street Larosas. That looks a lot like actress Ann B. Davis, better known as Alice from The Brady Bunch. You couldn't see it very well from the riverfront either. The smoke was hanging low over the river, so you couldn't see a whole lot. I've heard that the TV production was exceptionally bad this year (I never got around to watching it), but I do agree that there's nothing like watching it from the riverfront.

Knott's Berry Farm Windseeker POV

I don't understand that either Terpy. A falling camera could do far more harm than a falling pair of eyeglasses. I've always wanted to visit that park, but I'm not sure I could deal with having to take my glasses off on every ride (by comparison, the only rides at KI that I take my glasses off on are Crypt, Firehawk and the water rides). -

Interesting. I didn't know TwitPic supported videos.

Should be interesting to see what these guys bring to the company. Interesting that both have sports experience as well. As far as the discussions tab on KI's Facebook page - blame that on Facebook, not KI. Someone at FB decided that "the best way to encourage conversation and feedback is through posts and comments on your wall", and they're killing the discussions feature at the end of the month.

Partly because Holiday Fest is cheaper and is included for anyone with a season pass for either the current or the next season. When KI brought WF back, they charged for everything they could and season passes weren't valid.
-
Note that the description says "fanpage for winterfest". As it isn't an official page, I don't see how the number of "likes" will impact whether or not it's brought back. I honestly don't see it returning.
-
It was likely moved because of the new Honda plant in Indiana. KI is closer to that plant than CF is.
-
I still have both of my KIC shirts. I really wish KI would do another RWCW event too. That weekend was so much fun!

While I'm looking forward to the changes, I'm not sure the "compare for yourself" page was necessary. Each of the three parks offers a different experience. I am also a bit surprised that they're going to completely overhaul the lazy river for an "adventure river". I recall one day last summer when the Lazy River was so crowded that they were making you get out after one trip around because there was a long line of people waiting to get in a tube. The ride clearly is quite popular, especially with those who aren't necessarily fans of the more "thrilling" things in the water park. Should be interesting to see how this all works out though.
