I will probably head for Diamondback or Beast, though it depends on what other rides they're offering ERT on as well.

Keep in mind that this is the first full season under new management. They likely didn't have time to do anything with the building between the time the decision was made and opening day. They won't even start hiring for Haunt for another 4 or 5 months, so they've got plenty of time to decide what they want to do with the building for that. I would not be surprised to see that building used for something else entirely next season. They've got at least 8 1/2 months yet to decide what to do with that building for next season.

The dog I most recently pictured does have something in common with Muttley though. He was the first to use the "snickering laugh" that Muttley made famous.

Or, y'know, maybe they'll take video of it and add it into an opening day compilation video, along with a shot of a flood of people rushing through the metal detectors. That worked out well last year. I'm with Terp: I'm also gunning for consistent dress code/line jumping enforcement, too. I'd settle for "smoking in designated areas ONLY" enforcement.

Especially if the weather this year is like it has been the past two years - cold, rainy and breezy. Excuse me? Unless my memory is failing me, last year's opening day was an absolutely gorgeous day, with temperatures in the 70s, little (if any) wind, and not even the slightest hint of rain. Lines were correspondingly long. As for the poll, I haven't decided yet. You're right. It was nice last year. For some reason the only one I really remember is from two years ago when it was bitter cold and windy all day.

Snake Pit is one of the few places where the food is actually worth the price. Their footlongs are delicious, as are their frozen lemonades. I look forward to trying their cheesesteaks.

I certainly don't. I'm still waiting for the "Top 5 at 5" feature to come back.

Ed Alonzo’s Psycho Circus- Magic and Mayhem

It'll be odd not seeing an ice show there this year. I've always enjoyed the shows, but hopefully this one will be good as well. -
Kings Island 70's Campground brochure
Oldiesmann replied to standbyme's topic in Kings Island History
Wait... Year-round camping? Who in their right mind would go camping in the middle of winter in Ohio? Sounds like the campground was a magical place back then! -
Well, I take back my original answer. While watching assorted HB cartoon clips on YouTube, I found another dog that I somehow overlooked (possibly because he's the last one listed on that site). I'm now thinking that's likely Precious Pupp: That would also explain the "thing on his head" question. I have no idea who that other dog is.

I think a wild mouse would be a great fit for KI, as it would appeal to coaster junkies and families alike

Comparing that with a list of Hanna Barbera dogs I found, that appears to be "Elvis" from Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kids.

The only Haloween-themed saxophone song I can think of is this one:

Thanks for clarifying. That was one of the rides I operated when I worked at KI in 2005, but I couldn't remember where it originally was.

I took three years of German in high school and wouldn't have known to pronounce it like "Hoos".

If I'm remembering correctly, that ride was located approximately where the Snoopy/Woodstock bench is now. You can see the bumper cars in the background. The ride itself is still there (sans original Hampton vehicles). It got moved over on the other side of the kiddy cars for the 2006 Nick Central expansion. It's now called Peanuts Off Road Rally.

GREAT AMERICA STADIUM DEAL!

I'm assuming once the move is complete they'll be changing their name to the Santa Clara 49ers. Let's just hope that they don't end up like the Angels did (I don't know why it was necessary to have "Los Angeles" in their name if they couldn't drop the "Anaheim" part for legal reasons). -
Soak City Construction Continues

I could be wrong, as I haven't been there in several years either. I just remember that in 2006, when I worked at Dippin Dots, their small Dippin Dots was cheaper than the equivalent size at KI (though at the time, that was also the only size they offered - they started selling three sizes in 2007 as I recall). -
I vaguely remember seeing that show as a kid. Any idea when that was taken out, or where it was in relation to current rides/attractions?
-
Apparently that happened in 1977. A Google search for more info turned up this blog post about it from 2006: http://booksteveslibrary.blogspot.com/2006/01/dinah-at-kings-island.html

They're all like that. They "stand up" like that mostly when confronted.

Why does it matter if you can't find it in your local area? Dixie, Goldstar and Skyline can all be ordered online and shipped straight to your door. If you're really hungry, you can also order Blue Ash Chili by the gallon or half gallon, but that's not exactly cheap, especially considering they charge you $78 for overnight shipping...

King Cobra was put in before Paramount owned the park. The colors mimic those of the coaster's namesake:

Soak City Construction Continues

The Beach still seems to be doing quite well, though they don't release sales/attendance figures (at least not that I know of), so it's hard to say. I doubt CF would be interested in the park though - there's a lot more money to be made at KI, and The Beach would go broke if they tried some of the stuff CF has done (overpriced food/lockers, turning the waterpark into more of a concrete jungle, etc.). As far as adding new stuff, they just opened a new area last year where "Snake River Rapids" was (back corner of the park): http://www.fox19.com/story/14910661/new-attractions-open-wednesday-at-the-beach
