  1. Love the outfit! I had the pleasure of seeing Al last year at PNC Pavilion at Riverbend. I'm hoping he'll make a return visit to the Cincinnati area this summer.
  2. One thing I don't understand about those brochures. Why did they have separate toll-free numbers depending on whether or not you were calling from within Ohio?
  3. The link I posted earlier in this topic has more information about the situation, but I don't know where they got that info.
  4. That's a shame. I can only imagine what a full-sized one would be like at full speed.
  5. So are there any remaining whips that run at their original speed, besides the kiddy ones?
  6. The only one I've ever ridden is the one at Camden, and it was quite fun. It is a shame that so few of the full-sized ones still exist (the kiddy ones seem to be more common for some reason).
  7. Thanks to Google Translate, I was able to figure out at least in part what they're talking about and dig up more info... http://rideaccidents.com/ Apparently a 14-year-old girl fell from the ride and died after her harness came unlatched.
  8. The one thing I remember most about it is the view from the top of the hill. You could see most of the campground from there as I recall. It was a fun ride, but I don't remember much else.
  9. It is possible they've done more in that area, as the former ball field that used to be next to that part of the lot is now part of Soak City.
  10. Thanks for posting. I am already hoping to make it to HW this summer... Now I'll have to see if I can make the trip on that particular date :-)
  11. Interesting indeed. I like that they addressed the "really high horse" thing as well. Should be fun to see where this goes.
  12. Apparently Brandt-Connector Drive now has a new name:
  13. Glad to hear they've improved things out there. Now if they can find a way to better cool the pavilion on hot summer nights...
  14. I was hoping for more detail than that, but I guess said detail hasn't been made public yet.
  15. Where is Maury County in relation to Nashville? From what they said in the article about Bluegrass Boardwalk, it sounds like it's not real close. Nashville itself is only 2 1/2 hours from Louisville. Also, what exactly is Dollywood planning for that area? I haven't seen or heard anything about it until now.
  16. That was during Nights of Fire, which was a spectacular extended fireworks show Paramount did on the 4th of July weekend. I believe that particular moment was from 2003 or 2004. That year they had them "in 3D" as well...
  17. The biggest issue I see with Firehawk is that they don't operate it efficiently. When one train hits the back brakes, they should dispatch the one in the station. If they could speed things up a bit, the line would move faster. I have seen things done that way a few times, but often they haven't finished loading one when the other returns, and even when they have, it usually isn't dispatched until the other starts unloading.
  18. Considering that the majority of their business comes from people renting out the park, I'm sure they make plenty of money. Otherwise they would not be able to afford to be open to the public 4 days a year with relatively cheap admission and free soft drinks. I know they used to hold those "meanest man" contests up there as well, but I have no idea if they still do (haven't seen any ads for them plastered to phone polls in several years)
  19. While that would make sense, if you hover over the number, it says "11 Jan 2012", which is a full month before this topic was started (and almost three weeks before the topic on Soak City construction was started).
  20. I'm looking forward to being able to get vanilla Coke, and am also curious as to what raspberry Coke would taste like.
  21. 16 different shows? Sounds like that was a really entertaining time at KI!
  22. No, that's not true at all. They'll teach you everything you need to know during training
  23. That figures, considering the two parks are only two hours apart.
  24. I don't know how that guy can call himself a "researcher". That article is full of stupidity, frequent subject changes and there are those glaring omissions which Terpy pointed out. And NASDAQ trusts that company to provide its clients with reputable information. I guess NASDAQ doesn't take itself seriously anymore.
