  1. I was hoping for more detail than that, but I guess said detail hasn't been made public yet.
  2. Where is Maury County in relation to Nashville? From what they said in the article about Bluegrass Boardwalk, it sounds like it's not real close. Nashville itself is only 2 1/2 hours from Louisville. Also, what exactly is Dollywood planning for that area? I haven't seen or heard anything about it until now.
  3. That was during Nights of Fire, which was a spectacular extended fireworks show Paramount did on the 4th of July weekend. I believe that particular moment was from 2003 or 2004. That year they had them "in 3D" as well...
  4. The biggest issue I see with Firehawk is that they don't operate it efficiently. When one train hits the back brakes, they should dispatch the one in the station. If they could speed things up a bit, the line would move faster. I have seen things done that way a few times, but often they haven't finished loading one when the other returns, and even when they have, it usually isn't dispatched until the other starts unloading.
  5. Considering that the majority of their business comes from people renting out the park, I'm sure they make plenty of money. Otherwise they would not be able to afford to be open to the public 4 days a year with relatively cheap admission and free soft drinks. I know they used to hold those "meanest man" contests up there as well, but I have no idea if they still do (haven't seen any ads for them plastered to phone polls in several years)
  6. While that would make sense, if you hover over the number, it says "11 Jan 2012", which is a full month before this topic was started (and almost three weeks before the topic on Soak City construction was started).
  7. I'm looking forward to being able to get vanilla Coke, and am also curious as to what raspberry Coke would taste like.
  8. 16 different shows? Sounds like that was a really entertaining time at KI!
  9. No, that's not true at all. They'll teach you everything you need to know during training
  10. That figures, considering the two parks are only two hours apart.
  11. I don't know how that guy can call himself a "researcher". That article is full of stupidity, frequent subject changes and there are those glaring omissions which Terpy pointed out. And NASDAQ trusts that company to provide its clients with reputable information. I guess NASDAQ doesn't take itself seriously anymore.
  12. Maybe CF should send the bill for this situation to Kinzel, since it happened under his watch.
  13. Interesting quote from that article: Unique to a large urban park perhaps, but definitely not unique to his parks. Another "BB" just 90 minutes down the road also offers free soft drinks, free sunscreen and a "value-based, fun, family experience", albeit on a much smaller scale and sans free WiFi (except at the campground).
  14. Full version of that article, complete with video of the interview with Dan Koch: http://www.wdrb.com/...-for-ky-kingdom
  15. I'm not even sure they could operate one of those today without putting an awning over the entire thing, as the plastic would get so hot in the summer.
  16. I don't think you have to get it processed again if you renew, even if you renew online. I don't remember having to do so last season, but I could be wrong.
  17. Already being discussed here FUN 4Q Conference Call
  18. Stumbled across this on YouTube earlier. Don't know if it's been posted here before, but it's still awesome. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wj02zD0dJLs
  19. Contact Broadtexter about that... http://www.broadtexter.com/contact/ Also, FYI, it's "TracFone", not "track phone".
  20. The only thing KI is missing at this point are a few more good rides like The Beach has. Aztec Adventure and Twilight Plunge in particular are quite fun - a water coaster and a dark tube ride.
  21. This one also reminds me of KI since they started playing it in Flight Deck's queue and station:
  22. Given that it's popping up at area Larosa's, I would not be too surprised if it popped up in Festhaus.
  23. Back to your original post - yes, you can ride Slingshot by yourself. Just remember to get your ticket early to get the best price.
  24. Interesting note in regards to the Coke Freestyle machine. It seems that the Larosas in Newport now has one, as their sign says "Over 120 Coke Flavors!"...
  25. Speaking of Men at Work, I'm reminded of KI every time I hear "Down Under", which gets semi-regular airplay on WGRR here in Cincinnati.
