  1. I highly recommend not leaving anything valuable in the bins. While most of the time things will be safe, leaving anything valuable in the bins, especially in plain site, is very risky. Ride ops cannot pay attention to who left what where, and will not notice if someone takes something that doesn't belong to them.
  2. This is a great idea and sounds like a lot of fun. Makes me wonder how much Don would go for if KI did something similar...
  3. Thanks for the info. My dad has a copy of that 1972 book, so I'm quite familiar with it. Great book, though likely not worth what some people are asking for it on various websites...
  4. I find it funny that they recommended the same seat that Terpy recommended...
  5. Just because Holiday World does it doesn't mean it'll work for the large chains. HW has a lot less overhead - no corporate salaries, no "sister" parks to share profits with, no big-wig executives to pay... Plus, considering that they're in the middle of nowhere and advertising opportunities are limited in that part of the country, I'm sure Pepsi is quite happy for the advertising, especially since RC is a competitor in that area (they have a bottling plant in Evansville).
  6. http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=393074486948 Anyone know what he means by Green Room?
  7. What's the title of that Coney Island book? I checked Arcadia Publishing's website and it doesn't look like they've published a book about Coney Island.
  8. My preferred seat on Vortex the past year or so has been 4-2 (which I know many others on here also prefer). I'll have to try 5-1 next time I'm at the park.
  9. They should definitely do one for KI, but they need to do one for Coney Island first as you can't really tell the history of KI without mentioning Coney.
  10. Mine would have to be my first ride on a coaster. I rode Beastie on a family trip to KI with my parents, sister and uncle back in 1988. Nothing like the sinking feeling going over the first hill (and I believe this was before it had seat belts). I don't remember too much about it since I was only 6 at the time, but it was a lot of fun.
  11. I guess they were really busy yesterday... They never answered any questions from yesterday, but posted a note for today this morning.
  12. Apparently, getting on and off ASAP isn't all that important. Every time I ride, I squeeze past the crowd and find a row with little to no wait towards the back of the train...
  13. No offense, but there isn't a whole lot of Peanuts music to begin with, and the only song that would really be recognized is "Linus and Lucy". You could maybe throw in the Royal Guardsmen's Snoopy tunes, but most kids wouldn't recognize those.
  14. The fact that SF is only saying "he's no longer with the company" seems to indicate that he did not leave on good terms. I do agree that it's rather odd for them to say they're looking at possibilities for expansion so soon after emerging from bankruptcy. You'd think they would be more interested in trying to further reduce their debt and settle the issues with Kentucky before looking at expansion.
  15. Glad to hear they'll be doing this again. I also skipped the KIC train tour due to the weather. I will definitely be taking advantage of this, unless the cost ends up being ridiculously high (which I doubt it will be).
  16. The reason your score is higher when you're by yourself is because there's nobody else in the car competing for the same targets you're trying to hit.
  17. There is still a large concrete footing behind the driver's station at Zephyr. I've been wondering what that was from. Still trying to get them to answer my question about the carousel organ (plus it's the only question I can think of right now )
  18. I believe they're playing "Kidz Bop" songs or something similar in Planet Snoopy now - basically pop/rock tunes recorded by kids. Not the original versions.
  19. How about some "modernized" classical music by Bond? (based on Brahms' Hungarian Dance No. 5) (based on "O Fortuna" from Carmina Burana by Carls Orff)SeƱorita (based on "Toreador Song" from Carmen by Georges Bizet) (based on part of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake)They've also done a lot of other great tunes that might work well on I-Street ("Viva!", "Victory", "Scorchio", "Explosive", "Shine", etc.)
  20. Yesterday some girls were discussing what would happen if CF changed the entire park to Snoopy stuff... The name "Snoopyback" came up during this conversation
  21. It will be interesting to see how this park does, being that it's likely one of the only ones in the country (for those unfamiliar with it, UAE is about the size of Maine). The ironic thing is, with oil being the major industry there, some of the park's guests may very well own a Ferrari or three...

    DB ERT

What is your record for most rides on DB during ERT? Mine is 10 rides - despite DB only running two trains during ERT and opening 13 minutes late due to technical difficulties with the red train. I only had to get off and get back in line 3 times - the other 7 times I either stayed where I was or found an empty seat elsewhere on the train.
  23. Thanks for the correction. I'd heard someplace that they were GCI trains.
  24. Things got posted fairly late again, so here are the questions... http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=391623666948
  25. Heard after one of my ERT rides yesterday: "I CAN'T FEEL MY FACE!"
