  1. That line is even funnier for those of us who have met you in person before
  2. It's an entertainment website owned by The Onion (though it's not a satirical news site). I'm really not surprised they used a headline like that.
  3. http://www.toledoblade.com/business/2016/06/09/Cedar-Fair-CEO-Matt-Ouimet-gets-indefinite-contract-extension.html
  4. From greeter to driver in a week and a half? I find that hard to believe...
  5. Having the park closed most days during the busy summer months certainly won't help - especially with Waldameer just a short drive away.
  6. Odd move... Why move the VP/GM of KD to Charlotte and send someone from Charlotte to KD to replace her?
  7. They're both Arrow loopers... Close enough right?
  8. That's my point. $5 to ride the lazy river when nothing else is open. And they wonder why nobody was taking advantage of it. Sent from my LG G5 using Tapatalk
  9. Of course they're going to see limited use of the lazy river during the week. Who's going to come to the park just to ride the lazy river - especially when they likely have to pay to do so?
  10. Latest update from the park. CP will reopen tomorrow. Tickets and Fast Lane passes dated yesterday or today are good any other day at CP or today at KI and Michigan's Adventure. https://www.facebook.com/cedarpoint/posts/10153659829481463
  11. Seats aren't bad, and at least you don't get your ears boxed off like on Invertigo, but I certainly won't be riding it again. Sent from my LG G5 using Tapatalk
  12. T3 is now my least favorite Vekoma. I got stapled halfway through the ride. Sent from my LG G5 using Tapatalk
  13. Storm Chaser is indeed running. Great ride! Sent from my LG G5 using Tapatalk
  14. It was as of when I was driving into the park. I haven't made it back there yet though. Sent from my LG G5 using Tapatalk
  15. Just arrived at Kentucky Kingdom. Lots of people here. Overhead someone say there would be lots of coaster enthusiasts here today because of Holiwood Nights. Sent from my LG G5 using Tapatalk
  16. Snake Pit was still open and selling cheesesteaks as of Coasterstock weekend. They were closed by the time I made it over that way tonight (around 7) but many food places closed early tonight, likely due to the weather scaring a lot of people off, but the sign still said Snake Pit and there was no evidence of anything changing there as far as food offerings go.
  17. Virtually no wait for Vortex. It's only running 2 trains and I was still on and off in less than 10 minutes in the front row. Sent from my LG G5 using Tapatalk
  18. I love how he deleted the tweet after the backlash started.
  19. I'd blame RCDB for so many sites getting it wrong. So many people consider them the definitive source of information on roller coasters that people would rather believe what they say than listen to someone who might know better. For the most part RCDB seems to be pretty reliable, but they're certainly not always correct.
  20. I think it will be pretty popular. I'm just not crazy about the location as it appears it will be going right between the Aquarium and Mitchell's Fish Market, blocking the great view of downtown Cincinnati that you can currently get from that location.
  21. According to the press release from Koch Development, it will be manufactured by a company called Dutch Wheels. http://kochdevelopment.com/2016/06/01/the-skywheel-coming-to-newport-on-the-levee/
  22. An actual expert weighs in on the gorilla's behavior: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1203379103029809&set=a.136952966339100.18704.100000731932790&type=3
  23. Lots more news on this, so I'll try to keep it all in one post this time... From National Geographic - Harambe's Behavior May Have Been Normal Gorilla Play: http://news.nationalgeographic.com/2016/05/harambe-gorillas-behaviors-zoos-animals/ WLW reports that a group called Stop Animal Exploitation Now is filing a complaint with the USDA against the zoo, claiming the barriers were unsafe: http://www.700wlw.com/articles/local-news-119585/animal-activist-group-files-complaint-against-14765459/ CNN has reached out to animal expert Jeff Corwin who wants to let everyone know that the zoo isn't your babysitter: http://cnn.it/1O0cjbX
  24. Cincinnati Police Department is reviewing the facts of the case regarding the actions of the parents/family,"consistent with department policies": https://twitter.com/CincinnatiPD/status/737746953111506944/photo/1
  25. I also don't understand why they're complaining about amusement parks choosing private settlements to end lawsuits. That's common practice in the business world these days. It brings a quick and quiet end to a lawsuit without requiring anyone to admit guilt.
