  1. This looks like fun http://www.dailyitem.com/news/knoebels-announces-new-ride/article_e6cc3d04-d502-11e6-9e49-27233e6df90a.html
  2. Any word on when/if the remaining notification options will be enabled? The only way I'm getting notified of people liking my posts is through Tapatalk.
  3. This could be interesting... http://www.ocregister.com/articles/knott-740497-park-auction.html
  4. The old mobile layout was a separate theme entirely, so it could have been different. The new version uses what's called "responsive design" to properly adapt to a variety of screen sizes, rather than using a separate theme designed for mobile devices.
  5. I'll be signing up as soon as signup is open.
  6. Tapatalk appears to be working fine for me. I switched to the lighter theme as well, which isn't as narrow as the dark one. I'm hoping notifications for likes will be re-enabled soon as well.
  7. KI has officially announced that opening day will be April 15th this year.
  8. Nice to see an upgrade again. Hopefully we won't end up accidentally locking Terpy out like we did when the software was (briefly) upgraded last time. So far I haven't really found many issues except what's already been mentioned - some notification options are disabled, no signatures, etc. Also, a couple things that I don't think have been mentioned yet... Is there a way to get rid of the "topics" sidebar on the main page? I would prefer to hide it and have the main forum stuff take up that space instead. Will there be a "widescreen" option? I'm not a fan of fixed-width layouts (again space that could be occupied by content)
  9. If everything works out the way I plan I should be on track to add 4 new parks to my list this year... Major events planned this year: Coasterstock Holiwood Nights (with a stop at Kentucky Kingdom on the way home) Whirlwind week-long trip in July (Lakemont, Dorney, Knoebels, Memphis Kiddie Park and Cedar Point in that order...). Other things I'm considering: Return to Holiday World in late August for Rock the World (Skillet is playing this year) Weekend trip to Indiana Beach in September In addition there will be the usual trips to KI (probably once a week during daily operation like I did last year), a few trips to Coney at some point (hopefully at least one being for Balloon Glow) and hopefully at least one trip to Stricker's Grove, especially since my niece can ride all the kiddie rides there this year.
  10. Here's the most recent statement from the park, posted to both Facebook and Twitter at approximately 10pm Pacific last night (1am this morning Eastern time): https://twitter.com/knotts/status/815078361374461952
  11. More live coverage from the NBC affiliate in Los Angeles: https://www.facebook.com/NBCLA/videos/10154380993211028/ Firefighters will now be using cables to take riders down to the ground one at a time, children first. Apparently this is caused by the ride's brake system malfunctioning, and riders have been stuck for close to 5 hours now.
  12. If anyone wants to continue following along, here's live video from Fox 11 in LA since the one from KGTV ended... https://www.facebook.com/fox11la/videos/10158003915170553/
  13. The Sky Cabin ride at Knott's Berry Farm is stuck 125 feet in the air with 17 people on board... http://www.ocregister.com/articles/air-739902-feet-firefighters.html Live video from San Diego TV station KGTV: https://www.facebook.com/ABC10News/videos/1362021357173676/
  14. At least that one should run on most modern computers. I may have to check that out at some point since I don't see myself being able to play Planet Coaster anytime soon (I can't justify spending that kind of money on a new computer just to play one particular game when my laptop works fine for all my computing needs at the moment).
  15. You're going to need a pretty beefy laptop for Planet Coaster... https://www.reddit.com/r/PlanetCoaster/comments/52v6yu/minimum_and_recommended_system_requirements_for/ Minimum: Intel i5-2300 / AMD FX-4300 processor, 8GB of RAM, 2GB graphics card (nVidia GTX560 / AMD Radeon 7850) Recommended: Intel i7-4770 / AMD FX-8350, 16GB of RAM, 4GB graphics card (nVidia GTX980 / AMD R9 380) It's definitely possible to play it on a laptop, but make sure you're aware of the requirements/recommendations before buying one so you're not disappointed.
  16. I'm seeing video on Facebook that the Chalet Village area is completely engulfed at this point (search for Michael Luciano if you're interested - the videos contain adult language so I don't want to link to them here). Nothing has been posted officially from them at this time.
  17. Pray for everyone involved. This is seriously scary... http://www.wbir.com/news/local/gatlinburg-neighborhood-voluntarily-evacuating-due-to-fire/357115866
  18. Definitely going to try to make it out there next year. I got busy and didn't get a chance to this year. Sent from my LG G5 using Tapatalk
  19. I think we need to have a KIC meetup at CoastersRZ's house Sent from my LG G5 using Tapatalk
  20. There's a deal available on Groupon at the moment. $13 for one person, $25 for two people or $47 for four people. Snow Tubing for One, Two, or Four at Beach Mountain (Up to 41% Off) https://www.groupon.com/deals/2590-water-park-drive-llc-the-beach-mountain Sent from my LG G5 using Tapatalk
  21. Trains have been revealed... https://www.facebook.com/BuschGardensVA/videos/10154223896308315/
  22. Thunder River Rapids to be demolished: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-australia-37916546
  23. I rode it a few times. It wasn't very forgiving to adult males...
  24. Looks like it should be a great display, but the price will turn a lot of people away unfortunately. Get three or more people over the age of 3 in a car and it's cheaper to go to Sharon Woods.
  25. Not a lot of updates on this at the moment (which is understandable given the seriousness of this situation). According to various sources, the park had planned to hold a memorial service for the victims last week and reopen this past weekend, but those have been put on hold until the investigation is complete. The park is currently closed until further notice according to their website. A CNN article from Wednesday said the park was supposed to release a statement on the rescheduled memorial service and when they planned to reopen today, but that didn't happen (it's currently 2am Tuesday morning there).
