  1. The article I linked to above says to "check back for the link to the documentary Friday afternoon", so I assume it hasn't been released yet. The website for the documentary is http://www.legacyofarrow.com so I'd watch that site for the link as well.
  2. While I do understand that they'd want to know what was going on, planting an employee on the other side and trying to convince those on the other side to do things that are illegal is highly unethical at best. I can't imagine what the consequences would be if they had actually succeeded in getting the activists to partake in the illegal activities.
  3. ACE has apparently made a documentary about Arrow Development which will be premiering on the net sometime tomorrow... http://coasteraddict.com/the-legacy-of-arrow-lives-on-today/
  4. That "wherever" is Carowinds, according to RCDB
  5. Speaking of Conneaut Lake Park, I just realized it's only an hour from Waldameer. If by some chance it actually opens this year I might have to swing by while I'm up that way.
  6. I've never stayed at any of the CF properties (last year was my first trip up there), but it seems nice enough. It's on CP Drive a couple minutes south of the park, not actually at CP like the others are. It does have some perks (discounted tickets and one hour early entry to the park), but like the other CF properties it's still more expensive than surrounding hotels (for the dates I'm going this year it's $139 a night just for the room itself). It does appear that the three-day tickets are only available for resort guests as well.
  7. I too miss the more realistic map styles from the Paramount era. They're not entirely realistic, but they're far less exaggerated than the current ones are.
  8. In terms of where to stay - I would highly recommend staying at one of the many hotels on Route 6 in Sandusky rather than on CF property. Staying on property is more convenient and does offer some perks (at least for those who aren't passholders), but you'll pay considerably more. I stayed at Knights Inn in Sandusky last year and was quite happy with the experience - nice large room, free breakfast and just 5 minutes from CP. This year I'm staying at Econo Lodge because Knights Inn was sold out for at least one of the dates I wanted. I'm still only paying around $80-$90 per night though.
  9. I'd imagine neither company is eager to have multiple locations within two hours of one another - both Kalahari and Great Wolf have locations in Sandusky, and of course Great Wolf is also in Mason. If you make them less common, they'll be more attractive to potential guests.
  10. Preview night info was mentioned earlier in this topic... Important to note: The Preview Night in the spring is for passholders who renewed by the November 6 deadline in the fall. Only passes renewed by the deadline will be valid for admission to the preview event.
  11. The crowd size depends largely on the weather. If it's as nice this year as it has been in recent years it will be quite crowded. If it's cold and rainy it won't be as crowded.
  12. Here's a construction picture of the Rivertown funnel cake stand courtesy of the KI Twitter account (posted a few days ago): https://twitter.com/KingsIslandPR/status/700487529162788865
  13. I got The Beast. The 2nd question was fun since I can truthfully say I'm "out all night" on a typical Friday - at work.
  14. Was any reason ever given for wanting to chop the cars up like that?

  17. Translation: Licensing agreement expired, and the chain didn't feel it was worth the asking price to renew it. That and Tony Hawk retired in 1999 according to Wikipedia.
  18. When I went to ride Scrambler a couple years ago there was a sign saying single riders would be paired. I rode it with my sister last year so I didn't pay much attention then.

That might help draw in some end-of-summer crowds, but by August people are winding down summer trips, especially as kids get ready to go back to school. That won't help them a whole lot in my opinion (that is of course if it happens at all).
  22. Sounds like the new owners really want to see the park succeed. I may have to take a weekend trip out there this summer if I can.
  23. I rode Holidog Express last year. Snooze city... That said, I still find Holiday World to be a fun park, though I don't like their "no single riders" policy for the antique cars and Scrambler.
  24. I particularly liked all the strange looks we got from other park guests
  25. The splashdown area was dug out specifically for the ride. There used to be another pond in that area though, with a lot more trees. It wasn't used for any rides, though there were swans in there. I have no idea what happened to the birds when the lake was drained though.
