Not actual guests saying things, but this past Friday when my sister and I were at the park, I saw a group of about 10 teenagers crammed into the Family Dryer. It was quite funny, especially considering that it was still 83 or 84 outside. Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of it.

Did some more searching on these... According to several sites (all of which have the exact same quote but no source), they're no longer street legal as of a couple years ago. Here's a slideshow of them from Flickr (a feature I didn't even know we had here!) http://www.flickr.com/photos/mr38/sets/72157622677941791/ The description from that set has the exact same quote from the DMV as well.

Ed Alonzo’s Psycho Circus- Magic and Mayhem
Oldiesmann replied to TylerRider's topic in Kings Island
I saw the show for the first time this past Friday and enjoyed it. Sure, the girls may not have been as "family friendly" as the ice shows have been, but it was still a funny show and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. -
Invertigo was running fine all day on Friday.

Unfortunately, the government doesn't always think logically...

Diamondback did indeed reopen to the public sometime yesterday morning. The work that was done is near the last turnaround (right after they take your picture). Look to your left in that area and you'll see cleared dirt as well as fresh concrete.

Still on level one after a 6th visit to the park (and another $9 purchase - this time a chesseburger basket at Jukebox Diner), but I've now unlocked a few more rewards and can choose from two rewards now instead of one. The additional rewards are 50% off Fast Lane, 15% off total food purchase, bring-a-friend for $9.99 or one free game play. My sister also got an instant reward for free cotton candy yesterday, though the cashier at Juke Box Diner wasn't quite sure what to do with the receipt at first (JBD takes the receipt that shows what you ordered and gives it to the folks in the kitchen so they know what to make, and crumples up the FunPerks one that prints off... The instant reward receipt almost met the same fate until the cashier looked at it more closely).

You should probably add an "other" option since Dixie, Gold Star and Skyline are not the only chili parlors in town (and the poll would get quite lengthy if you added an option for every one). My favorite by far is Dixie. I first had it in 2009 when they were offering 80-cent coneys to celebrate their 80 years in business, and it's been my favorite ever since.

Visited the park for the 5th time yesterday and spent another $10 (burrito + souvenir cup refill at the Burrito Shack). My visit has been counted, but nothing else has changed yet.

At White Water Canyon yesterday, a boat full of screaming teenage girls was coming by the water cannons. One of the guests who was soaking people on the ride said "If they scream, I'm going to get them!".

Weekdays are better crowd-wise than weekends. My sister and I have been to the park each of the past 3 Wednesdays (because I'm always off on Wednesdays) and have both been able to ride everything we wanted to ride in the 10 hours the park was open (the park, prior to this week, was only open until 8 during the week). Last week it was noticeably more crowded than the previous week, but the lines were still pretty short.

Guess I'll be having another Surf Dog marathon during ERT again this week, assuming it's back up (it wasn't running this past Wednesday and my sister said it was down the previous Saturday as well).

Disney Scammers= free 4 year vacation
Oldiesmann replied to Browntggrr's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I hope a judge and/or Disney makes them pay back all those fraudulent charges they racked up. I'm assuming they'll also be banned from Disney World for life after that stunt. -
I would recommend sticking to the "ultra tame" rides - Boo Blasters, Carousel, Sally's Sea Plane, Shake Rattle & Roll, WindSeeker, Woodstock's Whirly Birds and Zephyr. However, as others have suggested, it's best to get the advice of the folks in Guest Services as well.

Coasting for kids event song ideas for 2012
Oldiesmann replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Kings Island
Since there's going to be a large group of you, maybe you can do this rendition of "Crazy Train"... Back on topic, here are a couple of other ideas: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wfOwmiGp0bo -
Considering that it's only supposed to be 65 today I'm surprised it's opening at all.

A couple more things I've noticed recently... Just before the national anthem plays (at 9am now instead of 10), they blast "Today Is Gonna Be A Great Day" by Bowling For Soup (better known as the theme song to Disney's Phineas and Ferb apparently) and all the admissions employees run out of guest services cheering and high-fiving the guests. Also, guests now get to assist with "officially" opening Kings Island, though I'm not sure how they choose who gets to do this. The guests count down from 10 and after getting to 1 announce "Kings Island is now officially open!". I would assume both of those are due to new management. The last one seems especially Disney-esque.

Overheard in line for Flight of Fear: "Diamondback is WAY scarier than Drop Tower!".

My account has now registered 4 visits, which includes both opening day and today. I spent a bit at the park today as well (2 cheese coneys and a souvenir cup refill), but have not leveled up or received any new rewards.

Stricker's Grove 2012 dates released
Oldiesmann replied to jcgoble3's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I emailed them about that Labor Day date. I was told that it is indeed supposed to be Monday and they're going to contact the appropriate person to fix the date on their site. -
Yes you can. It's a bit tricky to get a souvenir cup under there though.

You should be able to get the wristband from the FunPerks booth near the front gate between the season pass building and the ticket/lost and found building. Most (if not all) food stands sell the same drinks, with the exception being Hank's Burrito Shack (due to the Coke Freestyle machines). You order a drink like usual and show them your wristband. It is only for the smaller sized fountain drinks, not for the bottled soda.
