  1. Beech Bend - Kentucky Rumbler Camden Park - Big Dipper Coney Island - Super Roundup Kings Island - Diamondback and Beast Stricker's Grove - Tornado
  2. Delirium went down a couple of times for reasons not known to me. Flight Deck also went down around 4:30 or so due to a problem with the restraints in one car.
  3. I believe they will be in the Coca-Cola Marketplace outside Coney Mall. There is a column on either side of the drink freezers which each had a random metal door on them a few feet off the ground. Considering that LCD displays don't work too well in cooler weather (if you saw what happened to the TVs in the DB queue later in the day, this is what I'm talking about), I'm guessing they weren't open due to the weather.
  4. Thanks for sharing! 1982 is the year I was born, so it's quite interesting to see what the park was like back then
  5. Yes they are. That show starts June 15th.
  6. Being a huge fan of oldies and classic rock, I recognized most of the songs in the show, some of which I haven't heard in years. Overall I thought it was good, though I was a bit surprised that they put "Pinball Wizard" in the Elton John set since The Who's version is much more well-known. I'm sure it was hard to choose the songs for the show though, considering the large number of great British songs that charted in the US in the 60s and early 70s.
  7. Yeah, I was surprised when they gave me a receipt for my parking. I guess they want to make sure you don't hand your pass off to someone else after you enter (though if they pay attention to the photo it'd be hard to get away with that). I also noticed that the Metro route no longer goes to the passenger dropoff area, though it's still a bit of a hike from the new stop.
  8. What Drop Zone sign? Posters say the darnest things! Fixed. That's what I get for posting when I'm tired
  9. There seems to be an overall improvement in accessibility throughout the park. In addition to the new ramp at the train, I noticed the following: Beast - lower-mounted handrail all the way up the exit ramp Racer - new exit area; swinging gate replaced with metal picket-fence-style magnetic gates Woodstock - swinging gate replaced with a sliding one I also noticed that several of the coasters have a metal device which appears to be designed to make it easier for wheelchair-bound passengers to get into and out of the cars - from what I can tell, disabled guests can slide directly out of the wheelchair into the coaster car, and then pull themselves up onto the device and pull themselves back up into their chair, removing the necessity for someone to assist them in or out of their chair. The accessible entrances are also clearly labeled with signs now, so there's no confusion as to where to go.
  10. In line for Surf Dog yesterday, I heard someone say "Try to sit on the right side. It spins you around more". I also heard someone called Drop Tower "Drop Zone" while looking right at the "Drop Tower" sign.
  11. I would think the guest amenities would have something to do with it as well. PNC Pavilion and Riverbend have individual guest seats which are covered (at least at PNC Pavilion - only part of the seats at Riverbend are covered). Those venues would be much more appealing to guests than the bleacher-style seats at Timberwolf.
  12. On the noon news on Channel 9, they were saying that the best chance of rain tomorrow will be in the evening. Their "Futurecast" thing was showing showers moving through around 5pm and continuing through at least 7pm, though I have absolutely no idea how accurate that is. Either way, it should be a fun day, and you might even get some unique experiences. Last year the most unusual experience was when a train full of mostly KIC people got stuck on the lift hill of the Blue Racer. One of the people assisting with the evacuation of the train is also a KIC member and knew several of those on that train
  13. More info here: http://www.wdrb.com/category/163829/fox-41-video?clipId=7049677
  14. Not at all related to the buyout, but a funny anecdote out of rural PA: http://www.poconorecord.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20120427/NEWS/204270344/-1/NEWS01
  15. Now both the NWS and Weather Underground are saying 80% chance of rain. Weather Underground still has a higher forecast temperature though (59, compared to 52 from the NWS).
  16. I heard on the radio earlier that it would be scattered showers and storms, so it probably won't be a total washout. Interestingly enough, the NWS forecast for Saturday has gone up 3 degrees to 54. Still, The Weather Underground is saying 64 for that day.
  17. From what I've seen they'll still have their usual fare as well.
  18. The odd thing about Saturday is that no two sources seem to agree on temperature. The National Weather Service says 51, two of the local TV stations are saying mid 50s and two are saying low 60s. Several other sites are saying mid 50s. All of them agree that it's going to rain though. Hopefully it won't be a total washout.
  19. I'm glad I renewed my gold pass back in October when it was still quite easy to do. It's ridiculous that you have to go through so many steps to get it renewed online now.
  20. They added the ability to renew them online recently, but it's still not that straightforward. Go to http://www.visitking...m/season-passes Click on the "Season Pass - Platinum" Tab Click "Buy Now" Click "Buy Now" for the adult platinum pass Click "Next" Choose your preferred payment option and click "Next" Choose the "Renew a 2011 Season Pass for this passholder" option Enter the info and follow the prompts from there.
  21. That's the shed at Peanuts 500 (or "kid pike" as we called it when I worked there). I believe that window is still there.
  22. There wasn't anything else between Beastie and Fairly Odd Coaster. In 2005, it was Beastie. In 2006, it became Fairly Odd Coaster.
  23. I remember that HB movie. That was one of the last times there was anything showing on that side of the theater.
  24. It is the water tower there by the station. My sister and I had the pleasure of experiencing this once last season.
  25. Tylersville Road is a few miles west of KI, but quite easy to get to - just head south on KI Drive, hang a right on Western Row Road and keep going west. I'm not sure when the Jack in the Box is supposed to open. When the news first came out a couple months ago, they were saying that it would probably open sometime in the summer. I'm sure we'll hear more about it as they get closer to opening since it's the first one in this state.
