Drop Zone by far. It is the only ride that has ever made me cry.

I wonder if we need to enter through the BB passholder entrance for the early ride times since the gates don't open until 10:00. Any thoughts?

I sent them an e-mail yesterday about this and here is their reply: "we have just released our first news letter. we have made some new changes in the park due our situation and all the construction we are presently doing to make our park better in every way. on opeing day you will receive a owner's mauel for the gold season pass holders and this will inform you of all the perks and everything. any further questions please let me know."

I have a question about the theme of of Avatar. I have not seen this show so it may be a silly question. Does the show have anything to do with skateboards? It seems to me that Rocketpower would have been a better theme for a skateboard ride.

Have we had official word that the gates won’t be open at 9:00? I know that the calendar says 10:00 – 8:00 but it also said that on last years schedule and the gates opened at 9:00. The wording that got everyone worked up this year has been taken off of the PKI website so maybe we got worked up over nothing. Did anyone ask at the winter tour or was it addressed at all?

Yep. I remember that. Scooby Doo was my first coaster! NU will not impact me because my kids are big enough to ride the big coasters so I won't be over in that area. I am however so sad to see a part of my childhood go away with HBL.

Just out of curiosity, if you are hired as a seasonal employee do you have to reapply every year and go through interview process or do you get to skip it?

The crowds at the gate at 10:00 are going to be really bad now since the hour before is gone. There wont be time to spread the crowd out. It would almost be worth coming an hour later just so you don't have to stand in line just to get in.

They sent me the same one about a week ago.

According to the Capt. Screamscape is very unreliable. How is the reliability of Thrillnetwork? He didn’t say anything about Screamscape. Looking at CP’s track record it wouldn’t be far fetched for them to put in a big coaster. They like to break records with big coasters, not “family coastersâ€Â. This family would really like to see a new big coaster come to Ohio. We are in need of a new one!

I have to vote for The Racer. It is my LEAST favorite coaster at PKI. Not everyone thinks that SOB is a bad coaster. Some of us can ride SOB and not complain about it.

I find it hard to believe that they would put in a night club type of thing since they stick to the family theme so much. Putting in a night club would take away from that. I also think that that staffing would be a nightmare if they opened year round.

I would like to go but it will be to expensive to take the whole family and knowing our luck we would drive all the way from Columbus and it would be sold out!!

PKI also posts outside before you enter the park which rides are running and which ones are not. If they are that concerned that their favorite ride is not operating they can come back another day. It may be disappointing for them to get all the way there to find out their ride is not running but they have a choice if they want to enter the park or not.

How did you find so much information on this??? You must be a really big fan of the Brady Bunch and PKI. Wow, I am going to have to go back and watch this episode again so I can look for everything that you pointed out!!

I just watched the episode and I did not hear them mention the name of the park. They said the plans were for an amusement park in Cincinnati Ohio, but didn’t say Kings Island. They did show the Kings Island name on the front of the log ride, but that was the only reference to Kings Island that I saw. They did show names of Monster, Wheel of Fortune and they showed Red Racer on the front of the coaster.

We called PKI about this today and they said that the passholder doesn't need to be there for the friend or family to use the ticket. I think they can just scan the ticket that is printed out so they wouldn't need to stand in line at the ticket office. You can call them to inquire about it if you have questions.

Actually he did ride it, He simply refused to ride without the camera being tested. No he did not, he did not like to ride coasters, the actior not the charecter. If you remember they race while Mr. Brady is at the meeting, I remember seeing this epsiode with "pop up Brady" and it stated that he did not like riding rollercoasters. I have the pop up Brady on tape and you're right. Robert Reed would not ride the coaster. I'll have to watch it tonight and see if they mention the name of the park. I don't remember them calling it by name though.

I agree. It is too expensive for us to drive down from Columbus and then to pay for all four of us. I guess we will have to just go to the Columbus Zoo lights. It is free since we are members. I wish Winterfest was that way too. Hopefully someone will post pictures so we know what we missed.

I voted for TGIF nights becuase it was the start of the new season. I remember going and being so excited becuase I knew it was the start of such a fun year at PKI. The crowds were small and we rode everything a few times. It seems like a really long time ago now.

Now that might be interesting!

This may be a silly question, but I noticed that there was a Spongebob movie or ride of some kind. I thought only Paramount had Spongebob. Six Flags can have rights to Spongebob also?

We rode it right after it reopened this summer and it was perfect. This was the first time we noticed it not going as high as it used to. Hopefully it is fixed before the end of the season.
