  1. Well you should be glad that there was no draft beer because there may have been more fights. How do you suppose? Statistics? Facts behind that statement or is it just opinion?
  2. Most people forget that the IR is able to be accessed via a service elevator. But it is not convenient to go through the kitchen. I'm not certain that I've seen any guests go up the elevator. I'm certain that it's been done, but never seen it myself.
  3. They don't listen to Clark Howard's Travel Tips! Clark Howard
  4. I actually had thought about that. Maybe the 10 Year Anniversary shows used smaller shells. ... [edit] or maybe they used bigger fuses?
  5. Above and beyond. Sometimes it's the little things that make parks like Kennywood stand out. It's a classic!
  6. You hit on it! I've loved the Crown Colony for years. The food is actually really good and the surroundings are amazing!
  7. Ya'll are so lucky to have a John Mataresse! There is no one else to save any of the rest of us from The Unthinkables!
  8. The thing that is great about Florida is that you can often eat very inexpensively. You can go to a restaurant and get fresh catch and not spend a fortune. Stay away from the chain restaurants and hit the early bird specials and it really stretches your funds. Myself, I'm partial to the Gulf Coast, but Daytona - Ft. Lauderdale and Key West can also be great locations.
  9. Well as park veterans, I think that all most of us need to do is look at the various carnival rides. When I go to a carnival and see rides propped up on wood blocks and just rocking back and forth, it's just a disaster in the making. Mental Note, do not buy roller coasters from WalMart.
  10. Ahhhh, mini golf is the best! And Florida has some great chains. Inexpensive and a blast to do with friends or family. The key is, ya really don't have to spend much money to have a good time.
  11. You are correct, the pictures don't show things like that. And that is the point I am trying to get across. Is it's KI's fault that the apartments are like that, considering the glowing specs given through apartment search sites that I found; or is it the apartment managements' fault for letting people live like this and giving false descriptions of the living conditions? If you think about it, the amount of KI workers living there is a very small percentage to all the residents there. Why did the TV station make it look like a KI issue, and do an "I" team investigation, when it really was not a KI issue but (according to you, and I am not disputing what you have seen or know) a slum lord issue? The quick answer I can see is that the "I" team has done slum lord investigations in the past. So another "I" team investigation on slum lords would be just that. But now if you put "Kings Island" in the title, it sounds like a brand new story, and a shocking one at that. That would be sensationalization at its best- gripping the viewer with a catchy title. According to the links I found, it sounds like a great place. We really don't know what kind of time constraints KI was under to house these internationals. We also don't know if the entire property is like you described, or, if it only a few units. For all we know a KI representative could have actually looked into the apartments, saw some good looking ones (like the ones in the pictures), and felt satisfied with the conditions. And here is the real kicker: we are just a bunch of internet fanboys of a certain park. Look at the information we thought of, and the information we found. I find it difficult to believe that this so called "I" team could not think and do some of the same things. And they do these "investigations" for a living. Unless they had ulterior motives... Not only is it a "new" story, but it's a much bigger story. I think that it's pretty obvious that the I Team found the information that they wanted to find. My guess is that this story and the conclusions that they were to find were in the tank before any reporter or camera person hit the pavement.
  12. I didn't badmouth anybody. I simply supplied the facts that were neglected from the WCPO report. I am curious as to why when 4 employees say something negative it's fact, but when 200 disagree it's hearsay. Woofer hit the nail right on the head -- you can go up to anybody's work and the happiest employees can make it look like Disneyland and the most disgruntled can make it look like Auschwitz. Exactly. And what I'm saying is that I don't think that anyone can surmise by the I Team report that there is or is not anything wrong. Yes, maybe the park has done wrong. The only thing that we do know is that WCPO continues to create tabloid television with very little concern for those pesky little things call facts.
  13. The fact that we've spent thousands upon thousands of dollars already, and the fact it's 2 hours away, My parents aren't to enthusiastic. Well, BGA has something for absolutely everyone in the family. The coasters and rides, yes, are amazing. But a huge part of it is the atmosphere and entertainment. Any time I'm within a couple hours of Tampa, I do not miss BGA.
  14. Regardless how many were there, that is simply not at $1,200 apartment in that area. For $1,200 it should be very, very, very impressive for that area. And to do that would be just as effective as the sensationalized I Team report.
  15. Now Boddah has told us that assumption is not true. Many people look towards this in their travel plans.
  16. Lost Legends
  17. Hold On! Let's not lose our heads about going over fences!
  18. Can not see any plaintiff approaching CF or CF for anything such as that. In fact, I've never seen any private owner approached for such things. Can you imagine how many issues there would be with hotels, restaurants, shopping malls. Simply said, it's not gonna happen.
  19. Not true. I once handled a claim that happened in Cedar Point's parking lot. An insured struck a kid that had run out in front of the truck. Pretty serious injuries. The kids actions were the proximate cause for the loss. We agreed to pay the medical bills to attempt to resolve the incident. Cedar Point was not involved at all. But they did do the most detailed police report that I'd seen in some time.
  20. Sadly, there is nothing unusual about a fatality on any road. Its not just any road!! its the road of nickels =)! Well .... I think that CF will only be calling it Nickel..odeon .... for a few more months.
  21. Sadly, there is nothing unusual about a fatality on any road.
  22. And the fact that there are actually rally's in decent numbers speaks volumes. It's difficult to get US Citizens to rally for anything in sufficient numbers. I think that this should be a wake up call to InBev... And it's good that it is getting coverage in the UK.
