Yup, in the sad state we are in - you would have had a valid claim for damages. With no treatment you probably could have gotten a settlement of about $250. Trip and fall "garbage" claims are filed against businesses every day.

Yeah, heard about this on Friday. The flights are being canceled due to it being difficult for airlines to make money on leisure travelers, with gas prices so high. The bright point of this is that it's expected to severely drive down the prices at most resort locations. The only problem is in getting to the spots.

I think that the issue is him bringing the gun to work and leaving it in his car. That I think I could go with. If someone has a concealed carry permit I don't see any issue with him having the gun in his vehicle. Taking it onto private property such as the park is a different matter. I'm all for a property owner making the rules as to guest/employee behavior. I know the argument is that the parking lot is park property, but I certainly think that exception can be made as it is simply for his safety and protection to and from work. Now personally, I have no idea why parks continue the use of the metal detectors. I certainly don't see any change of operation of parks before or after their use. They certainly seem to send the wrong message to a visitor visiting the park. "Welcome to our park, now let me search you." On weekends, I wear a wallet that has a chain that attaches to my belt. One time while entering SFOG the security made me take it back to the car as it had a chain on it. So now, I take the chain and put it in the wallet - put the wallet in the baske - walk through the detectors and put it back on when I get in the park. Soooooo ridiculous.

OK That would explain why I know nothing about her. Sounds like an entire amount of nothing. If I want to see spoiled kids, I can go to any chain restaurant in Alpharetta.

And then just removing a ride for removal sake. ie - Flyers. You know, I would suspect that Shake, Rattle and Roll would be removed by Paramount by now.

It's quite possible that Paramount would have run out of second rate movies to name rides after. Can you imagine if they had to revert to naming attractions after some of their classic films?

I think that we need to start an award for the most worthless post. I nominate your post as the first contestant. 1) You state that Six Flags America is the worst but that you have never been. 2) You make this assumption that a park you have never been to is the worst but that you intend to go next year. 3) You take the time to make a post but state that you don't have time to go into your reasoning. 4) You make an assumption that anyone has a clue of what you are talking about. I'd guess that no one does. 5) You are assuming that everyone feels that SF's parks are crap. (I know at least one Interp that has his favorite park as a SF park.) 6) Then (and to top it off) you state that not every SF park is crap. .... Your post is precisely the reason that you should not do drunk posting.

It's exactly what it is. I don't know why CF has this assumption that the public can not handle legitimate reasons for some of the decisions that they make. Certainly, a business is going to want to put a good spin on something. ie - Turning The Racer around for Nostalgia purposes. But honestly, eventually even the least skeptical are going to come forward and say enough.

Actually his plan seems to be pretty well thought out. It's not just North Dakota that he's speaking of. It's the entire wind corridor from N. Dakota to Texas. It's also involving many other pieces. This is going to be someone that Obama and McCain are going to want to consult with.

I really wonder why CF some times feels that we can not handle honest answers for cancellations. If this were really something that they wanted to do this year, it would be done this year. One sponsor falling through is not something that should cancel an event such as this. Anyone involved in sporting activities knows how relatively easy that it is to obtain sponsors. Add in that this would have been a great form of advertising for any given sponsor, this just does not hold water.

I think the thing that was most disgusting about Paramount is how they took a theme park and dropped attractions in that had no relation to the area. Oktoberfest, gutted. WAH turned into a concrete playground. Rivertown, marginalized. International Street left to decay. The second hard hit was how a company that was built on entertainment all but eliminated the parks entertainment department. It's an absolute crime that the International Showplace sat dark for so long. CF is making some long needed changes and adjustments. Are they perfect? Is anything perfect? But it's a good bit better than the previous administration. Ok...while I certainly agree with the premise that GL's problems were due to SF's bad strategy (Burke's SF...not Shapiro's SF), let's not fool ourselves about why CF bought GL. (And, no...I don't believe it's because Kinzel pictures himself as some sort of gallant "amusement park savior" ) Cedar Fair bought GL for two reasons: 1) It was cheap, and looked at the time to be a good investment; and 2) It kept any other theme park operators from competing with CP in its own backyard. And, you really can't tell me that CF was too hurt to see competition for CP .... uhhhhh ... eliminated?
