Yes, there was a jet that shot up in the center of the helix on King Cobra. Nothing that would get anyone wet, though. And Monroe is right, there was the incident with the wheel but I am not sure I'd call it an actual derailment.

Some rumors never die. (So to speak.)

Teenagers rollover van on way to CP
WooferBearATL replied to Lake54321's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
A claim will settle within a given range based upon the facts. All parties know and understand that An entertaining fact is (and I know that it's similar with many reps) that if someone is not represented and is not rude, I will extend and settle on the higher part of my range. If the person is a jerk and or represented by council, I will stick to the lower part of the range. So in turn, they get the lower part of the range and the attorney keeps 33%, as well. The only time someone needs an attorney for an injury claim is when there are complex matters that need to be addressed. -
Ya know, all be it that besides the fact I'm not able to sleep tonight. (Oh, it's gonna be a hard day at work.) I'm very pleased with how well this thread has gone. In years past, it has degraded and reached a point that it had needed to be closed. Good On Everyone.

Teenagers rollover van on way to CP

The answer..... Many, Many, Many Rampant fraud is the prime reason that Insurance Companies have special investigations. Those units are composed primarily of people with backgrounds in criminal justice and former police officers. So much fraud just goes unrecognized because there simply are not the funds to appropriately address it. For every legitimate personal injury claim I settle, I'd bet that I settle 3 bogus ones. -
Thanks for reminding me why I don't like to post on here much anymore. Oh BTW, your opinion is wrong. Cranky day AZ?

No, I'm sure they'll be claiming soft tissue injuries with maybe some contusions or lacerations. If they get hooked up with an ambulance chaser, they'll be going to a chiropractor for about 2 months for about 18 visits. Their claims will probably settle for between 6K and 7.5K. That's a good amount of nickels. -

I would bet that personal injury claims have been filed against the vehicle owner's insurance already. -
Yeah, the site actually seems to be blocked here at work?

What are you thoughts on Flashback: Totally 80s?
WooferBearATL replied to BoddaH1994's topic in KI Polls
One of the greatest performers and entertainers of all time? (and no I'm not a Jackson fan) Being that Michael Jacksion helped define the 80's, I'm not certain how you could leave him out. As far as the quality, you're comparing it to a time when the entertainment department at the park was well established. You have to remember that the park appears to be trying to rebuild that area. You have to give them time to come back to the glory of old. -
Far too many. One of the most increible was the Supervisor's dinner at International Restaurnat before Dry Run Day. The food and company were wonderful. After dinner a bunch of us walked around the park and watched em testing The Vortex. I don't think anyone got any sleep before Dry Run. And, it was the start to an amazing season.

Ahhhh, may want to do a little research on what "Pride" is all about. June is traditionally recognized as Pride Month in most of the world. Though advances have been made well above what I expected in my lifetime, there are still great mountains to climb. A good place to start the research would be the Stonewall Riots. Stonewall

Yeah, I was a huge critic of when the event was changed from June as Red Shirt Day to Pride Night. I've actually come to enjoy the event. The Entertainment Department usually does some special shows and there is often other entertainment brought in from outside. Always a cool event.

Yes, honestly there are people that prefer Moe's better. I have a co-worker that is just so confused. When I moved to ATL (many moons ago) there was no Chipotle here. It was quite an adjustment for my ex and I as I used to pick up Chipotle for dinner at least once a week. Moe's just didn't compare. Now there are Chipotle's in and around Metro Atlanta and all is well in the world.

Oh Wow. Actually thank you for posting that. I keep being asked by buddies when I'm planning a group outing up to KI. I was pushing off bringing a big group of ATL folk to Ohio until next year (new coaster and all) but an August trip may work.

Great Wolf Lodge sued over 2007 illnesses
WooferBearATL replied to Lake54321's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
While that amount is very excessive, It really is not a shock that a suit has been filed. Quite honestly, if I was paying $250 to $520 a night for a room at GWL, and something they did (or didn't) do got my family sick, I would hope that GWL would compensate me so that a suit would not have to be filed. And what I mean by compensation is along the lines of the current stay being taken care of along with another weekend. While some people may consider that excessive, the way I look at it is: my first vacation to the lodge was ruined by getting sick, I believe I deserve another opportunity. Give Me Money, Give Me Money, Give Me Money. I suppose this is why a lot of folk don't go camping. Ya have a really hard time suing mother nature for bug bites. Being that we don't know what was or was not offered prior to this individual filing suit, I find it difficult to imagine that the guests were not offered a free stay. (And that even with the investigation being Inconclusive) -
Moes is a very very sad comparison to Chipotle. The people that love Moe's do not think fondly of Chipotle and vice versa.

Great Wolf Lodge sued over 2007 illnesses
WooferBearATL replied to Lake54321's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
And unfortunately, most plaintiffs settle these losses for some type of monetary funds. You wonder why prices and insurance tend to be so high some times? Take a look at all the attorney commercials on Jerry Springer. It all breaks down to lowest ultimate cost. Normally it's far less money to just throw some money at someone and have them go away. -
You are right. Tends to be a very claustrophobic feel when it's full of people. In fact, they normally opted to just let the line run out the station and down towards the Monster.

And Chipotle is the Skyline. Qdoba

Part of the old Que line for The Bat. I've only seen it open a couple times.
