And you would know......how? Because I was around when it was built. KCKC and WWC were both reservoirs. From time to time, it would even be used to water landscaping. Oktoberfest Lake, Monkey Island Lake and Swan Lake were designed as water run offs.
-
Well, WWC was designed to be a reservoir for the park. Sooooo.... It was designed to not be chlorinated. Yes, treating the water but not chlorinating it. Paramount took many liberties. It's very well possible that they would dump ample amounts of chlorine into a reservoir.

Ok Mark has done that, why not dedicate some money to the living conditons of the animals in the Discovery Kingdom park then? Alot of those facilites are disgusting, makes the Miami Seaquarium look like heaven having Tokitae the killer whale in a swimming pool, at least she is swimming around in clean water. If there is one thing that you can say about California, it is a regulated state in most every way. Certainly there is some regulatory agency that has and is monitoring animal control. Sooooo, the photo may be deceiving in that it may be an appropriate environment for the whale. Look at Shouka's at SFDK http://img512.imageshack.us/img512/8564/shoukakh4.jpg That's a good picture, despite the algea. Now at times you cant even see her cause the algea covers her viewing glass. Lots of dirt, some food, and some other really gross things. The bottom of the other two resting tanks are very gross where she is kept at. All of the observation glass of just about every animal facility is clouded up with water stains, hand/finger prints, and more stuff. Employees have the time to clean everything in the park, like the glass but i guess its not really assigned to anybody specifically, so nobody does anything about it. Theres cob/spider webs in just about every corner of the park, Is it so hard to clean them?

What do ya suppose he was trying to be? Like with most any situation, certainly there are additional details to the story.

Which is something that most people fail to understand. In the grand scheme of things, it really doesn't make a great deal of difference whether the attractions are themed after HB, Nick or any other characters. The attraction for most children are the actual ride and the fun that they have on the drides. For the most part, the actual theme is the concern of the adult.

You never know KIBeast. When I was about 9 or 10 years old, I went to see a podiatrist for what was then called "fallen arches." It was a problem with the way the bones of my foot were formed. The podiatrist said that there was not a lot that could be done and that I'd probably need the assistance of a wheelchair by the time I was in my early 20's. (Talk about something devestating to tell a child!) Well needless to say, I'm now 40 years old - remain fully active in sports and don't need any assistance. So the moral to this story - things may be ok down the road.

Please explain what exactly you do not understand? A question or rather a statement statement such as you've made just puzzles me. Why would you think that?

10 Scariest Rides On The Planet
WooferBearATL replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Yeah, cause that list is completely impartial. I've been known to make guys blush. And about TR:TR, not the biggest fan of the ride itself, either. But it's a solid ride and I understand why some like it. -
10 Scariest Rides On The Planet

Too Much Information! <G> -
It really boggles my mind when people complain about someone in a wheel chair going up the exit ramp. How amazingly petty do you have to be to complain about that type of accomodation?
-
And yet an absolutely amazing attraction. There are many plantations and historic sites that were built in the 1700's and 1800's. It would be an absolute travesty to destroy these attractions to create so called compliance.

I'll be 40 in October. Interp is right!! I don't know anyone my age who still rides coasters or goes to parks. They all tell me I'm "crazy." I'm glad I have kids so I can make a superficial excuse that always seem to satisfy them!!! And in turn, almost everyone I know enjoys parks, rides and coasters. In fact, I have many buddies headed to Disney this coming Wednesday for all the festivities over the weekend. There are parties at Disney & Universal. Certainly, they'll break away to ride some rides as well.

Kinda tells ya something about the HB Characters, now does it not? Someone is able to relate and understand HB Characters that predate them several decades but many kids do not relate Nicks shows that have been out of production a few years. Funny thing is that Rivertown was (at one time) the busiest area of the park.

And this is different from an illegal lottery exactly how? Oh, wait. It's Cedar Fair. And the Ohio Lottery is a sponsor. I am beginning to get it.... Similar to games that they play in bars all over the country. Except for the prize, it's nothing that could not be done.

Could Busch Parks Be in Play?
WooferBearATL replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Uhhh, I would say probably 100% that the Budweiser, Bud Light and Bush brands would die. Their target market is very US oriented and I do not think that they would take kindly to being foreign owned. Now granted, there are many other products that Anheuser-Bush owns that would survive. (ie - Bacardi, Grolsch, Bass, Beck, Michelob, Lowenbrau, Rolling Rock) But the Goose That Lays the Golden Egg, remains the core brand. That Golden Egg is laid in the US. I would predict that it would be a disastrous move. -

Can't see that this will ever go through. I can't see that they would go through with a hostile take over of the brewery unless they intentionally wanted to shut Budweiser brews down. Of all the brands that exist, I don't think they realize the importance of having these brands as American owned. -

Can't do anything more than give a big sigh. All so JonBenét Ramsey-ish to me. -
I think that it will probably be when we here a report that "Little Chef has gotten too old to ride SDATHC." Then we'll know what happened.
