Rarely, Rarely, Rarely are any medical bills paid until an injury release is obtained or litigation is resolved. No General Damages (Also Known as General Damages) are paid until the loss is resolved.

I don't think any of us know the facts around this well enough to make that kind of assumption. I've evaluated and determined the value of injuries for going on 10 years now. (Oh Man!) There are so many factors that may never be known to the public. I'm not certain how you assume that anyone is being "lowballed."

I don't doubt that at all. It is just that everytime another story comes out, it is like tearing off a scab to an old wound. SF may be trying to save as much money as possible by prolonging the investigation and settlement, but in my eyes they are also increasing a very bad light on an already delicate situation. The more the incident is mentioned, the more customers they can be losing. They can try and save (hypothetically) $50 million in the settlement, but if they lose $50 million in customer spending, they gain nothing. That is a common misperception in that the longer something takes to settle that it saves money. 1) The company (or rather their insurance company) already has the claim reserved at what they feel it is worth. - Generally, these estimates are very close to correct if not a little high. 2) Litigation expenses are very high. 3) No Company Wants To Prolong Settling if It is At All Possible.

This made me sick to my stomach. This kid knew what happened, yet they forced him to sit on the ride while this girl was recieving medical attention? I am surprised that SF still has not settled to quiet down all these stories. It can't be good for business. Much can be going on behind the scenes.

Only problem ever stopping the ride was if it was raining. If it was raining, the brakes would not catch property. That's why the ride would not run in the rain.

And is not in CF's plans, per Mr. K. Now Kings Dominion, that is in the plans ..... if there were money to do it.

OK, so it's not fair to make someone wait an extra train while someone in a wheelchair boards a ride but it is fair to make someone walk from overflow parking?

Where as someone that is overweight is not necessarily a protected class of people; somone that is blind is. I'm with Interp on this one in that I hope the park has a good attorney on retainer.

I was thinking the same thing. Post 2 used to be open to no one. But remember, we used to have the employee shuttle running in the employee lot, too.

I'm not sure that I even know where to begin? Do you really feel that way or is this just sarcasim? Disabled are able to go up the exits for a variety of reasons. For some it is difficult or impossible to go through the que lines. For some it's difficult or imposible for them to stand, walk or be confined for long periods of time. There are so many different reasons that it's difficult or impossible for some disabled that your comment is not only insensitive but ignorant. And being that I'm not sure that I know what a "normal person" is, I think the issue is that Everyone is owed and deserves respect.

Well, I can tell you that this should not be such an issue. I used to do Volunteer work for Stepping Stones Center. (Yes, WooferBear is a good guy. - Just don't tell anyone.) Anyway, we'd take people from Stepping Stones to Kings Island once a year. The higher functioning individuals and certainly the ones that were simply blind had few ride restrictions. Never a problem.

Well Mr. deerhunter, if ya had a Harley it probably looked perty but it's not likely ya road it. Harley's are nice to look at. But when you're lookin at em they're usually in the shop being repaired. LOL, thanks for the support Boddah but it's not a sport bike. I'd hate the thought of taking a cruiser up to 130. Not sure how anyone can ride them crotch rockets.

While in the past there has been a lot of abuse of the disability policy, I can tell you that this year it has greatly improved. Having personally taken someone around the park who has a disability and is wheel chair bound, I learned first hand how the system has greatly improved. First off, you can no longer just go up to the exit of a ride and hop on, you first must visit guest relations and receive an Attractions Boarding Pass. There at Guest Relations, my friend notified them of his physical limitations and they helped him consult on what would be recommended for him to ride and what wouldn't, then you receive your Attractions Boarding Pass. This pass allows you to go up the exit of a ride, however, once you get there you must present the pass to a ride attendant. If the line is under a half an hour they will let the person with the pass and one additional rider (until this year it was three additional riders) board the ride. If the line is over a half an hour they will write you a time on your pass, stamp it, and you are free to come back at that time (Note: you can not have any other active times written on your pass when you go to get a new time, in essence: you can only wait in one line at a time). Now if you have more than 2 people in your group, you can have your group wait in line while the person with the pass and one other wait at the exit, then just notify the ride operators and they will help you all get paired together, thus everyone waits an equal time. I was really impressed with how the system was executed this year. Consulting? That is a dangerous position for the park to place itself in. If the person in guest relations does not have some type of medical training; the park is just asking for problems there.

No years ago it used to be a restaurant where waitresses would serve you - oops showing my age!! And there were even times, believe it or not, that Waiters would wait on you as well.

I remember when that happened in Newport. He actually was a very good mayor. That's before things went to hell in the city. The man is actually very bright, apparently. I remember when his show started out locally. Was nothing like it is now.

I remember a story that my grandmother had told me. She worked in the Regency Room at Shillito's when she retired from Millicron. Well, Jerry came in to buy some dresses for his wife. Dropped a few thousand dollars and she said he was one of the nicest people to wait on.
