Motley Fool: Don't Sell Disney
Avatar replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Wow – not only does he hit the nail on the head as far as looking at Disney’s whole picture of diverse revenue sources, but he also drags in Great Wolf lodge and dumps on Cedar Fair and six flags. Good find Interp! -
"Confirmed" Information vs. Speculation
Avatar replied to BoddaH1994's topic in KICentral Footnotes & Small News
I can understand that KIC does not want its members to use the word “confirmed” unless it is backed up which will never happen, It makes things a lot less confusing. If I am correct KIC is not an official site for KI or Cedar Fair therefore everything on here is not or should never be taken as official unless an employee of KI or Cedar Fair with authority comes on here and makes a statement themselves or designates someone to do so. That goes for every forum board out there unless it is an official company site then everything is unofficial. -

First of all Ms Montana and the High School Musical are products of Disney and second judging from my own 7 year old daughter Disney has nothing to worry about. My daughter and her friend still like the old classics and also like the newer musical entertainment that Disney has tapped into. My wallet has been pulled out to spend on those products at the request of my daughter many times and I would haftto say they got her young and continue to keep her interest with more mature offerings.

Risk - sure do and one of my favorite memories was sitting around playing a game with some friends watching Gulf War one; it added another dimension to the game. Oh the good old days.

Dubailand: To Be Or Not To Be?
Avatar replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I agree Interpreter, when HH Sheikh Mohammed says lets do something everyone goes to work and focuses on how to get it done with money not being a problem when it comes to making it a grand project. Funny how money can make things happen in some parts of the world. I did find a quote on Dubailand website http://www.dubailand.ae/news_details1.html So like you said Interpreter “time will tell” -
Dubailand: To Be Or Not To Be?
Avatar replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I am always glad to see new parks coming into the industry with fresh new looks and ideas. I think that helps the rest of the industry to look for ways to keep up in ways that the appeals to the audiences they are trying to attract. With the money that Dubai has they can give Disney a run for their money and get them to stay on their game and even be more imaginative while staying profitable. The writer is somewhat confusing; Walt Disney World Resort in Florida is 47 square miles, the size of San Francisco or twice the size of Manhattan NY. This includes 4 theme parks 2 water parks, numerous golf courses, entertainment/retail shopping/restaurant district, sports complex, race track lots or resort/timeshare hotels and a small town and on and on. The writer says they are adding a lot of projects to the project but then says it will be the largest theme/amusement park in the world. So is Dubailand a theme/amusement park or is it a tourist entertainment district that also includes a theme/amusement park? Then which is larger that the writer refers to the theme/amusement park or the tourist/entertainment district or both? -
Happy Birthday Ryan I think one comment I would like to make about Ryan was; One evening last winter Ryan was helping a local hockey team which gave him some flexibility in planning events for them as well as making sure operations went well on the off ice side of the team. Well Ryan asked if I could help and I got to say I was very pleased to see Ryan really took his role very seriously and professionally. I then realized that Ryan is one of those people who really puts 110% in everything he does o matter it be his job, team volunteer or even running a Amusement/Theme park fan web site/forum. Ryan I just know one day down the road I will be saying I know that guy we used too……. Funny stories/moments there are many one was the Chicken noodle soup is good for the soul, not for your windshield. Follow link to read about it. Chicken Noodle Soup Is Good For The Soul The other memory was at a park meet and during the time that the picture mentioned above was taken, you can read all about it by following the link Thank You Ryan, for your sharing ways Sorry Ryan they made me do it. I do have a few more but I will give Ryan a break since it's his Birthday

Back to Orlando in March
Avatar replied to PKIVortex's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Keep in mind that you’ll be going during spring break for some and the guides are saying that the dates that you are traveling they predict the crowds to be 4 out of a 5 ranking. Spectromagic parade (night parade) at Magic Kingdom only goes certain night and it will be going on March 9, 10, 12, and 13th of March. Also note that on the 11th and 14th Magic Kingdom closes at 7 pm for the Pirate and Princes Party. Plan your Magic Kingdom date around these events. -

Actually there was a season pass holder only day at Boomerang Bay spring of 2006. We where there most of the day and they had a band playing, unless I am just imagining things.

At Disney World, a real Cinderella story
Avatar replied to Browntggrr's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
$587.00 which everyone who stays on site regularly knows that for all you get in that package $587.00 is way under priced. They do that to get around taxes or something like that. A Day (and a Night) in the Life of the Cinderella Castle Suite Each morning, a magical time and place is randomly selected from anywhere on Walt Disney World property to find a winner of a night in the Cinderella Castle Suite. A Disney Dream Squad of cast members is advised of the selection, heads to the location and identifies the winning guest from the selection criteria. The Disney Dream Squad informs the guest of their prize, explains the details of the prize and asks if they want to accept it. If they accept, after a short verification process, the fanfare begins. (If the guest does not accept the prize, the computer randomly selects another lucky guest. The computer will select up to three guests each day.) The winner and up to five guests head back to their hotel to pack an overnight bag. Then it's on to their day of royalty. First event is a photo session on Main Street, U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom. They are proclaimed royalty for the day and led down Main Street to their suite. The Royal Concierge checks them into the suite and gives them a formal tour, regaling them with the history and spectacle of the suite's royal heritage. After a bit of free time to explore their imperial quarters, the winning family is awarded one of the highest honors bestowed on guests of Magic Kingdom as they become Grand Marshals of the "Disney Dreams Come True" parade. Following more luxurious relaxation time in the suite, the winner's magical evening begins with dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table, a feast fit for a monarch, with a meet-and-greet with Cinderella. Dinner is capped with VIP viewing of the "SpectroMagic" nighttime parade and "Wishes" fireworks spectacular. * For up to two hours after the scheduled close of the park, the family will have access to Magic Kingdom with a VIP Guest Relations cast member. This will allow them to enjoy the atmosphere of the park before they retire for the evening. Suggested after-hours tours will be available which include modified versions of "Art of the Theme Show" and "Keys to the Kingdom," which are tours that explore the history and creativity behind Magic Kingdom. This special "after hours" opportunity gives these guests an amazing opportunity to see Magic Kingdom in a way that few guests have experienced. Then it's back to the suite for a night of "suite dreams." At the suite, they discover their beds turned down with royal sweets, and their room stocked with a variety of snacks and drinks. (The Royal Concierge is just a stone's throw away should the family require anything during the night.) After a glorious night's sleep in the royal chamber, the winning family is awakened by a personalized wake-up call from Cinderella. Then, as with every fairytale, the clock strikes and the family returns to their magical vacation, checking out of the Cinderella Castle Suite, which is then readied for the next day's royal visitors. -
At Disney World, a real Cinderella story
Avatar replied to Browntggrr's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
This has be going on for almost a year now and man my DD7 would love to spend the night there (me too). Well if you not lucky enough to win that one night sleep over in the castle you can always have your own princess made up in the castle at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique by a fairy godmother in training. Or meet Cinderella in the castle to have breakfast or lunch with all the Disney princesses. Or you can ask one of the PhotoPass photographers to help you get a brief Tinkerbell sighting in front of Cinderella Castle. Here is a link to another forum thread of an actual winner of a nights stay in Cinderella Castle Suite, she tells about the experience as well as a ton of photos. My Visit to the Cinderella Castle Suite! Enjoy! -
Sorry for the bug scare and the flat screen damage everyone, I just thought you all could appreciate a little humor in it. I was asked on another forum by a company that host all my pictures and Videos to try out a new beta system of a dramatically new version and to report any bugs in the program. I came across this bug gif and thought I would report a bug sitting to them and to also share it with you all. On that note, because of my involvement in the Beta trial all my former picture and video links are broken (****) I had put a lot of work in some past posts. Oh well the new program is great and I will try to go back and fix some of the past links to pertinent threads.

I live to far away to work at KI but would if I could, at least part time, just for fun. I agree about the one line clutter posts it's getting out of hand, ditto to all other posts about this subject in this topic as well as others. Also ditto to the second post directly above.

WDW's Swankiest Restaurant Bans Kids
Avatar replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
This is great news. It’s not like the parents have no where to leave the kids while the parents dine at $125.00 and up per person not including drinks. Right next door at the Polynesian Resort they have a child care center called “Neverland Club” it costs $11.00 per hour and includes a kid’s buffet, enough activities that most kids beg to go back. It takes about 10 minutes to get drop off the kids get your pager, hop on the monorail and check-in for dinner. The wife and I have been in the area the past couple years for our anniversary and have chosen to use the child care facilities during those dinning times and have eaten at Citicos also a very nice atmosphere restaurant at the Grand Floridian. We are going to try Victoria & Albert’s on one of these trips and look forward to a kid free environment, but since we are on the Disney Dinning Plan it makes better sense to take advantage of the restaurant’s that are on the plan. When we are at some of the nicer restaurants at Disney we do see very few kids in the restaurant and they look very bored and are usually asleep before the main course comes to their table. I know during our trip it’s nice to get away from Miss Rea for a few hours for some adult time. I know she is in good hands and I swear I think see looks forward to us taking her to The Neverland Club to get some serious kid time even more. -
Unfortunately I think Woofer’s explanation will probably be the way this case turns out, but I can only hope that if these young men caused all this that the jury either awards them only $1.00 or a larger amount but subtracts out enough to cover the cost of the tiger, investigative fess and losses to the Zoo then after alls paid they could split the last $1.00 between them and their lawyer.

I agree, your report was a great and interesting read. I noticed that in your hockey picture it looks like the rink is a Olympic size rink, I have always enjoyed watching hockey games played on the larger ice slabs. Also is that a catapult that you are standing by in one of your pictures, if so man that thing looks huge. Well thanks for sharing and I hope your time home is blissful for you.
