I have a lot of positives to share in my upcoming trip report but a few things could be improved on and the parking direction is bad and in my opinion VERY unsafe. In fact as we were walking across the street by the pedestrian walkway to the front gates, one guests was getting very agitated that a car was not slowing down as if he was not going to stop at the stop sign so the guy walked out any way, then the guy in the car acted like he was going to hit him anyway. Well that started some verbal jabs, I said to the guy walking do not let that guy ruin your day, he said your right and walked on. POSSIABLE SOLUTION; I would suggest if they are going to route guest west of the Gold Lot Parking, they should put an attendant at the west end of the Gold Lot and let Gold pass members in the lot from the west end while they are sending guests to the other side. I think that will solve most of that problem, and not force a lot of Gold Pass members to go all the way around and be forced to drive that center drive as guest are crossing the street(Very unsafe).

We went in to watch the show but as soon as we sat down my wife said “That pizza smells good I am going to go grab a slice” Now I am not a country music lover either but I do enjoy live shows of all kinds. I did enjoy the performance and really look forward to having more meals while being entertained there. After the show the performers came out and mingled with the crowd, I did speak to Josh (I think that’s his name) the one with the short blond hair and he said he was there to help fill in for another performer for a few weeks and he only had a couple weeks to learn his parts. I think that he did excellent since he admitted that County has not been in his past performances. I have seen him in other shows and think he is a very versatile performer. My family enjoyed the show very well and would like to share with you a 53 second clip of the show, Enjoy!!!!

Tickettoride08 – Welcome to the forums glad you are here. May I suggest to you to send Cornmaster a private message by clicking his name and clicking “Send Message”, I say this because I have read some negative comments from some fellow posters and I would rather Cornmaster or yourself to be more frank with each other without fear of others negativities. Again glad you are here and hope you enjoy your visits to Kings Island.

Mckensmom – welcome to the forums, we are always glad to see/hear from new members and their experiences. Thank-you for sharing your tip that will help others. I know Cedar Fair will be happy to learn that you will now be able to come to the park more often and stay later now that you have the right shoes on.

Disney Fires worker for grieving
Avatar replied to Avatar's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I wonder if someone from Disney tried to give her a time to return by notice otherwise she was under the assumption of taking all the time she needed. I till feel sorry for her lose in the video she just seems heart broken. I am just glad to her she can go back to work. Everyone grieves differently; I know my wife was devastated after the sudden loss of her seven year old son back in “93” there was no way she could have returned to work so soon and thank God for the support her job gave her emotionally it helped her get through the process. -
This is just a total Guess on my part and taking in consideration of the catch phrases “nostalgic, something old becomes new again”. I am starting to think they are getting parts and artifacts from old rides and attractions that have been removed and put them in the ride “The Crypt”. That would make sense for the new name, I guess well find out soon.

Disney's Facing A Ticking Time Bomb
Avatar replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Nice article, but the title of it could have been better. The general population of the elder population in Japan grew up with Disney and Disney has proven to offer amities to the elder crowds so they may adjust and offer some great experiences for their aging market. -
This is a sad article and the video in the article actually brought tears to my eyes, now it does have a decent ending. This just shows that Disney is not perfect but at least they realized their error. http://www.wftv.com/news/15902333/detail.html Bless you Dorothy Monroe

Wow to bad, but to be honest I was hoping that SFNE would cancel their plans for the dark ride and put it some where else. I see where city government should be prudent but they seemed to me to be arrogant to prove a point instead of serving the community and its needs, after all it was their fire protection who told them to move things around. Everyone losses here the park, potential staff and loss revenue to the city itself through taxes received from increased park goers.

Cedar Fair has done a phenomenal job in bringing back the entertainment to Kings Island so quickly. I do wish they did offer some spontaneous type of roving entertainment but maybe someday they will come through. I did notice that “The Country Line” will be playing on the first day of operation this Sunday at the Festhaus, I think that would be a great place for a group meet up. But we would need to be able to get the show times so it could be planned ahead of time.

Sorry to hear your demise deerhunter. I would like to ask those who may know here, Do I turn in my voucher at the ticket window or guests services or?

The new Kings Island sign in the front of the Royal Fountain looks really nice, I looks like that they raised the sign higher which is great as when we take pictures the sign will now be above us.

That green patch that is where Swan Lake used to be (according to the new map) should be all brown according to rumors and some posted pictures. If the rumors are correct then I don’t think we’ll see much green in that area at all Also just for pun, “in an effort to be consistent with other Cedar Fair parks” shouldn’t all the Cedar Fair parks have the same style maps?

Now, now. They've given you the facts, forwards and backwards. I just get this image of a certain movie line: Kaffee: I want the truth! Col. Jessep: You can’t handle the truth! Woofer I can see either group playing either role Kaffee or Col Jessep, (KICentral members or KICentral Admin/KI management) There is at the time of this post 3,210 register members here at KICentral and somehow I can not fathom that everyone would agree on everything or decisions that Cedar Fair/Kings Island makes. Hence the reason I read regularly to see all opinions expressed; young, old, informed, uninformed or just guessing/speculating. When some member’s opinions differ from my own but they back up why they feel the way they do, I respect their opinions and can understand how they came to their conclusion. This is a unique group of members and I believe KICentral is so successful because of the mix and I for one hope it last.

Mom charged in fight at Disney World
Avatar replied to Browntggrr's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Guilty! Although on a lesser charge the jury did find Victoria Walker guilty of battery. Here is a link to the story with a video of the verdict and the convicted batter Victoria Walker. http://www.wesh.com/news/15845445/detail.html -
Best cocktails in the nation?
Avatar replied to Avatar's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Well the fact that they did not rush right out and celebrate the honor with an announcement speaks volumes; I think this is an honor they would rather celebrate with little fanfare. I do think that Walt would be glad to see them being imaginative and being the best at it. Also Walt did approve of club 33 in Disneyland. Well if you have wondered what the imaginers have been considering to attract more business to Downtown Disney then read the article in the link. You won’t be sorry! http://www.mouseextra.com/2008/04/01/rumor...a-turn/#respond -
http://www.orlandosentinel.com/business/or...0,2338663.story Well heres to Disney, oh wait which drink should I drink cheers with their featured drink the very strong Hawaiian drink in the coconut or my favorite Lapu lapu served in a fresh hollowed out pineapple.

Well something I noticed was that at their theater they left the second set of pillars up and put up their sign where the old Paramount sign was. I think this is inconsistent with the “an effort to be consistent with other Cedar Fair parks” theory.

In my Tennessee Mountain Park... Dollywood Trip Report
Avatar replied to Shaggy's topic in Trip Reports
Wow – it really sounds like you had a great time on your vacation, thrilling as well as relaxing. Usually really long trip reports without pictures lose my attention half way through the report, but yours was well written and I enjoyed the read. You explained what you did and what you enjoyed all the while describing and giving me a taste of what the roses smell like around Dollywood (I enjoy that too). We have thought that we should cut back one week of Disney this year and go to Dollywood this summer or during Christmas break your report could have not come at a better time for us as we are still debating. If you feel up to it and like to share I would love to see some pictures/video you took with your new camera (since you’re so proud). Thanks for taking the time to write your report. -
Dane you have always taken great pictures but I think this is the best I have seen this far, Impressive!

Actually I was hoping for a t-shirt with one of your cool custom designs. I clicked the link and another link popped up and offered to send me more information as it comes available and asked some general questions. Many of the Disney fan boards has a section/forum that runners for running in any of the many Disney marathons have a place to talk about the event, meet-up locations, training techniques ect. Well this got me thinking that maybe KICentral could offer KI that they could host such a forum and they could pass a link to KICentral’s board when they send out information to prospective runners. This may be a way to boost new membership to KICentral.

Maybe KICentral could sponsor a group of runners.
