  1. They could build a diving coaster or a new log flume ride and call it "Stock Market Plunge" or "Wall Street".
  2. The associate is doing what they are supposed to do. Ensure YOUR 100% safety. Have you considered that the associate last year maybe, just maybe wasn't fulfilling their entire responsibility. I hate to think of it, but it's possible.
  3. There is a rather interesting article about it on the front page of yahoo.
  4. Brilliant! I love the pictures. Now find a way to resurface this former glory to life and I will return to Ohio to assist in it's rise to fame.
  5. Well won't that look nice. This is a very long awaited paintjob, and very overdo. I always take the time for this ride when I visit the park and I can't wait to see it.
  6. Of course the WindSeeker looks impressive, but I'll stop with that. Sadly, for me it is going to be much like the Son of Beast when it was operational. It will be moving but I won't be getting on it. The park could benefit greatly with some adult attractions. This wouldn't even necessarily need to be anything to do with rides. Great landscaping could be a plus. I know it's exceedingly unlikely that K.I. will ever visit the Zoo concept again. Even though I have always believed that it could be done the right way. But maybe they could consider a garden. Even a....botanical garden. This would certainly attract adults to the park who would normally never go. And it would give adults something to do while the kids go off and play. I can even think of an excellent place in the park to place a garden. Right where the shadow's of Son of Beast currently lie.
  7. Honestly, If I am planning to spend a day at an amusement park, I plan on having everyone I want to talk to right there with me. As a result, the cell phone simply gets to stay in the car.
  8. This is a BAAAaaaad deal for Kentucky. Kentucky Kingdom is better off forgotten. The struggling economy in the state is too fragile for local citizens to deal with this garbage. I agree that amusement parks can be great for employment, especially for students wanting to balance school and work. But unless one can accomplish a fulltime year round position ( rare ) such employment would not justify claiming to assist the economy. Not in this unique situation.
  9. Sorry KI, you have more hits than misses. Really you do, but this one, for me personally, is a serious miss. I will likely watch people ride it, and think to myself....( I honestly have no idea ) but I will not choose to ride this. I don't have fear of heights, or of spinning, and I trust KI to ensure safety, but it just doesn't seem like something that I would be willing to wait in line for. Maybe a nice electric car that operates like the old time cars would have been more inviting. You know, dig up some concrete, lay down some grass, plant some flowers, and some trees, and maybe construct a small pond. Yea....that would be nice. I rather enjoyed the old cars at both Dollywood and Holiday World this summer. You know what else would be nice...A Ferris Wheel. That's right, back to the basics, simple, yet enjoyable for all ages. Ooh, a boat ride would be cool. Not a log flume, just a themed boat ride. With what, I don't know, maybe Peanuts, or maybe something along the lines of Epcot.....( fun but educational ) scenes featuring Ohio's history. YES..that would be very nice. Just giving an honest opinion. Thanks for the opportunity to speak it.
  10. Taller than Diamondback.....that could be any number of things. Will change the skyline of the park and location yet to be announced. ( Just Kidding )-> Nothing would change the skyline of the park more than SOB coming to the ground.
  11. Well, this is more for information. Granted I have been to K.I. several times, I have yet to see the park in 2010. This will change on Saturday August 14th. I will be in the park, and I want opinions as to the best thing to look forward to in Planet Snoopy. ( I will be bringing my niece and nephew, ages 3 and 5 ) I have had a great summer, visiting Gatlinberg, Pigeon Forge, Dollywood, Holiday World, and The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo and Rainforest. This weekend is my annual stop back in Ohio to visit family and Kings Island, The Reds vs. Marlins and The Bengals vs. Broncos are on my list. ( As a Gator, I had to get tickets to see Tim Tebow! ) I will hopefully have time to let you know how the trip turns out.
  12. I would just like to take a moment to thank everyone who has replied. I've printed out everything! Your responses will be taken seriously, and hopefully somebody out there will read this and provide even more. If I may ask another question to add to my topic, For those of you who have been there, What trails would you recommend at Smoky Mountain National Park?
  13. We are making our 1st visit ever to Dollywood and Pigeon Forge. We will spend a day at the park, and 2 days in the immediate area. For those of you who have been there, what should I absolutely not miss in Dollywood, and what would you recommend for the surrounding area as well? Any input would be great!
  14. I would really enjoy it if they gave Flight Deck some much needed attention and appreciation. I've noticed it doesn't look so great when walking down that long path to get to it. And SOB being beside it makes it look more lonely somehow. But I absolutely love that ride. It is one of the few that my mother will even ride. ( mother's day pun ) And I enjoy that about it! I ride it every time I go to the park. And I will continue to do so, so long as it is available to ride. In a final note: GREAT FAMILY RIDE!
  15. Well, I broke down and purchased a platinum season pass, but i have not seen the park yet. I have however seen my sisters pictures. My favorite picture by far is of the Kite Eating Tree. Looks very cool for both kids and adults. And I love the pic of Snoopy kissing Lucy's nose.
  16. Seriously, thank you for posting that. This is one of the coolest things that I have seen on KICentral. I especially love the pictures of the animal safari. I wish that K.I. would go back to having animals again. And I would love to see a new skyride. Busch Gardens ( for example ) is especially nice when you just want to take a small break from walking, and just hop on the skyride. I agree with all of the posts that find the theming to be off the chart. Honestly, I think that Wild Adventures in Valdosta Georgia has some of the best theming in today's parks. It reminds me of the eighties K.Island in many ways. I even think that they made better use of the characters Like Yogi and Boo Boo than Kings Island does today, be it Scooby, Nickelodeon, and so far, what I have seen of Snoopy. And just check out that monorail price. WOW!
  17. Might be a smarter idea to place all roller coasters under the thrill ride category. Lets not forget pointless lawsuits like the woman who wanted to sue Starburst because the package says chewy and she thought they were too hard. Imagine that woman on a family ride that turns out to be thrilling.
  18. You can add me to that list. SOB never did cause me any issues, and I usually rode in the very back seat!! If it eventually re-opens, I'll be on it. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Mr. Kinzel, tear this woodie down. Sorry, this is the 1 and only thing at KI I am truly evil about. I don't care what they invest into it. I will never ride that thing again. so, if on the off chance a rehab makes it the number 3 rated wooden coaster on the planet... you still wouldn't ride it? I would personally not ride the Son of Beast if it was to become the #1 rated coaster, wood or steel. But that is a personal decision. If a specific book or a specific movie is rated to be one of if not the best ever made, would you necessarily agree with that, just because it is rated to be so?

  20. Just in case you dont like clicking on the links I'm trying to be polite, but this does have an immediate grasp on me. Not everyone is going to be knowledgeable to the true nature of the animal. Or any animal for that matter. It's just moderately rude to say stop calling them Whales. Someone like myself could sit here and preach on the animal, or in my case, almost any animal, but I don't feel it necessary to demonstrate that knowledge here. I assume that you have some relation to the field, or maybe even the park itself. My position places me with a unique point of view, but as I currently am not authorized to reveal information or to represent the park in any way ( I always speak for myself ) I choose to remain silent. Be wary of what is said here, you never know who may be watching.
  21. Get involved. Volunteer at your local zoo if possible to gain some AZA experience. Take a jr. keeper class at a local zoo as well. You will get an invaluable class experience as well as hands on experience for a relatively very affordable cost. This will give you the opportunity to find out 1st hand if this is the field for you. If you love it, there is a good chance that it is. Keep your background clean, and your grades high. Choose your school wisely, and take a major in Biology or a related field is what people will tell you, however most of the trainers that I know majored in Psychology.
