  1. This is what worries me. In a true professional environment, animals could not be stressed past a certain point. Moving animals too much in an unfamiliar place certainly qualifies in this category. Very simply put, so does throwing animals out on display. In an aza environment, for example, animals would undergo a minimal 30 day corontine before ever being placed in view of the general public. ( at least without walls or glass ) This is typically to ensure the animal is not sick, and cannot spread disease to other members of its species if it is. I am curious to see where the animals are coming from. Private owners, or a zoo. I am highly doubting that it is a zoo. And if they are private, what are their licenses or certifications. I would also like to know what animals are going to be used for the petting zoo, and especially for the mazes. I am not trying to start argument. I am just saying that I am curious to know these things. Sorry, but it's just me being..well, ME.
  2. This and animals being used in mazes. And everyone said Cedar Fair would never have anything to do with animals. I'm just sad nobody invited me to assist in this. Of course, the manner in which they will be used would determine if I would want to. It will also influence my decision as to if I choose to attend Haunt this year or not. I will certainly be watching this one very closely.
  3. Tear it down. Use the wood to build a que entrance to something else. Or a maintenance barn. Or a Haunt attraction. Who cares. Just tear this piece of junk down.
  4. I'm a little late making this post. I have been really busy lately, and have not had any time for such things. I visited Kings Island a couple of weeks ago with my mother. It was the 1st time in over 4 years that I have gone with her to the park. I admit that the trip was quite pleasant, and she would agree with that statement. And the reason that I am making this post is to give the park quite a compliment. We both attended the Endless Summer on Ice show, and I admit, I did not know what to expect. Granted this has been around for a while now, this was the 1st time that I had taken the time to watch it. As far as expectations go, I am now 30, so my memories of the old skating shows ( or all of K.I.'s old shows for that matter ) are very fond ones, and I was afraid that watching this new show might ruin my opinion of their ability to put on excellent ice shows. I am pleased to say that I was wrong. This show is splendid, and in every possible way. From the choreography, and the narration, the song choices, and the use of Scooby Doo. It is the single greatest compliment that I can give to say that it lives up to my memories of their previous shows of years gone by, if it does not even surpass them. Good job to everyone involved with this event. It was great for me because it was with my mother that I watched and enjoyed these shows as a kid, and it was amazing to be so impressed by something like this with her as an adult. Maybe instead of "Good Job" what I really should be saying is "Thank You!" Yes thats it, "Thank You!" m.f.21
  5. Either Expedition Everest at Disney's Animal Kingdom ( great theming ), SheiKra at Busch Gardens ( amazing design ), or Swamp Thing at Wild Adventures ( exact same ride as K.I.'s Reptar, only GREEN and over a lake of Alligators!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ) Simply Amazing!!!!.
  6. I have been thinking the same thing since 2000. I do not see SOB surpassing The Beast's eventual lifespan, or even coming close to its current life.
  7. I had the opportunity to visit Kings Island this week, and I could not help but to notice that all of the Nickelodeon merchandise was marked down to 50 percent off. Have there been any more rumors or any confirmations about the fate of Nickelodeon next year at the park?
  8. I have quite a few shirts from over the years. My favorite is a Hanna Barbera T-Shirt, displaying nearly every HB character you can think of.
  9. uuuuuummmmmmmmmm....Our National Anthem!
  10. All that I can think of is Diamondback. Here is what I mean. Most people thought that there would be no room for a massive expansion in Rivertown. And when I think about there being a long boring walkway to X-Base, I second guess that thought.
  11. I agree that The Racer is a landmark and classic wooden roller coaster. The idea of tearing it down is pointless, in my opinion. I don't think that Cedar Fair is going to invest in tearing down a piece of coaster history. Not without there being safety concerns, or if the ride proved to be diminishing the parks profits. And since neither condition is a factor, I believe that Cedar Fair is going to keep it around for a while. If anything Cedar Fair is consistant about keeping older roller coasters going, and successfully expanding a park with minimal space to build. And in Kings Island's case, they have a lot of room to build, which probably makes it even more less likely to happen. I believe that the chances of The Racer coming down are as likely as Cedar Fair purchasing 250 to 300 acres miles away and building a second park, in which Trams provide transportation to and from, and hotels are abundant with resort specials.
  12. I think that this is great!!!!! This is why I am so happy that Kings Island now bears Cedar Fair's name. They just keep getting better and better, and they keep bringing back that old feel of the park, and making it seem so alive again, and so much like a temporary escape from everything. I was hoping that they would announce something like this. Although the Warren County Guide in the McDonald's nearest to Kings Island already mentioned this event, it is nice to see that it is now officially on K.I.Central. I just hope that Cedar Fair surprises us with even more events throughout the year!
  13. It's sad to see how society functions sometimes. Granted this has always been around. Does anyone else recall the gum trees at White Water Canyon? Society has driven many young people into a seamingly subconscious destruction spree. Not to say that everyone contributes. I was taught in zoological park management at the University of Florida that only 1% of the entire population is willing to cause these types of problems. And another .5% is persuaded by their actions to follow suit. If these statistics are true, then 98.5% of the population has to suffer for their mistakes. Very Disappointing when you think about it. And again, if these statistics are still relatively accurate, how much money should be invested to control such a small percentage of guests in any one park? I don't pretend to have the answer.
  14. As a guest: 1.) Walt Disney World ( All 4 ) 2.) Sea World 3.) Busch Gardens Africa ( Tampa, Fl. ) 4.) Kings Island 5.) Cedar Point As an employee: ( Only Top 3 Available ) 1.) Sea World, Orlando : By far the friendliest and most rewarding, while providing park and professional benefits 2.) Walt Disney World ( Animal Kingdom ) : Extraordinary Benefits 3.) Kings Island : Straight up fun, park benefits as most of you know aren't that bad either.
  15. I don't know what would be the best theming for the Crypt. There are so many places to go with it. But like so many movies gone wrong, most of these places need specific talent and research to be done right. ( Example: Compare 90's Batman movies with Batman Begins or The Dark Knight ) I think that a Dinosaur excavation would make a good theme for the Crypt. It would not fit the name though. With the proper special effects and visuals, time travel could be a good theme. A really cool planetarium would be another good idea, especially if it looked like you were traveling between the stars with some amazing visuals. In other words, a virtual reality ride with the best motion seats ever!! Just a thought m.f.21
  16. In five years. A renewed Zoological facility. I am dreaming. Otherwise, I would like to see a brand new ferris wheel in the park. They could put this back in X-Base, and in a way make it blend into the theme of this area, without completely spitting out the nearby Coney Mall theming. A mouse coaster would be a great addition here as well. And with a few new games, another restroom, a shop, and a place to pick up some food, X-Base could be a another dandy! ( it feels weird to type dandy..lol ) A new building for a live show would be a fine contribution as well. That would be expecially great for older folks, and a cooling zone would be nice too. As for other rides, I would like to see a large to medium sized wooden coaster go back there as well. Something between the size of The Racer and the size of The Beast, that made use of the natural terrain. And if I could add one more thing to this area in my head, it would be a larger version of Avatar. At least 30 to 50ft high. In a final note, steel coasters are sweet ( YES, I LOVE THEM TOO ) so if there was a budget to allow for another steel coaster, I would build something between the size of Flight of Fear and Vortex that had seating like "The X", or a diving coaster...that ( Again! ) has seating like "The X". After the 5 years, another giant, to top even Diamondbacks height and speed.
  17. I could choose one of the MarlFox covers to put onto a t-shirt. I love to draw, and I have enough time to make it very detailed.......Maybe I will.
  18. How could I define Kings Island for you. Honestly I would describe it as the kind of place that you can easily fall in love with. You will create memories here, no matter what you do. Fond memories. It's the kind of place that offers something for everyone, no matter what age you are. And you will most certainly develope your own likes, no matter how you approach your day. Look at it this way, everything you try on your 1st trip is something that you have never been able to experience in your life before, and for one reason or another, it took this long for it to happen. So make the most of it! I could try to tell you that The Beast is an unforgettable riding experience, and I could tell you that Firehawk's uniqueness makes it worth it's wait. I could tell you that you can watch an ice skating show and leave being in a better mood than you were prior to viewing it. But these are just opinions. I could tell you that White Water Canyon, is as good as the similar rides that you will find at Disney's Animal Kingdom, and Busch Gardens, and I can tell you that The Vortex will be on your top 10 list for a Kings Island visit, but again all opinions. I think the answer that you need is to visit the park, find attractions that interest you and your party, and try them all out. I guarantee that you will find even more along the way that was unexpected, and that this place will be a fond memory for the rest of your life. You might even want to come back for more. Until....this last part is kinda scary.....Until....Until you become one of us!!!!! Really though, that is not a bad thing either.
  19. In my humble opinion, anything pre-paramount, and Cedar Fair. Cedar Fair is bringing back what I remember loving about the park as a child. And this is not just to mend my longing for childhood. I am referring to cleanliness, descency, quality, value, and mood. If only Cedar Fair had owned the park for the last decade, goodness knows how it would compare with their Flagship park by now.
  20. Back a few pages, something was mentioned about a confirmation e-mail. Do we need to do something special for this, or just wait for it? Or did I miss something in entirety?.........( could be )
  21. I got it too. Very dissapointing and distasteful to receive something like that, especially through KICentral. What mentality says, o.k., today I am going to send adult material to a family oriented web page? And to those that did it, I certainly hope they are reading this, though I doubt it.
  22. It's very true. With minimal action, isn't the park allowed to confiscate the camera? Because the camera holds images of copyrighted material.
  23. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEAST!!!!! ( Why do I feel like a straight to D.V.D. sequal from Disney? ) It's good to share 30 with The Beast!
