KI Should Get This Ride!
There is no problem. KI designed and built one of the best roller coasters in the world on there own, why can't they design and build one? If a park like Knoebels can do it, I would think KI could do it. In other words, finding a designer and or manufacture is not the problem, financing would. http://www.rcdb.com/ig3458.htm (You beat me angrybeaver, but they had the same problems with that coaster that KI would have if they built one right now. That would be financing, they had the know how and the crews but they kept running out of money. A project like that ALWAYS runs over budget. Besides it has only been 3 years not 70, you were close though)

A Few P's and a TR by IndyGuy - 4/26/09
Thanks IndyGuy for posting this. It reminded me to get the internet cam out and call home. Boy do I miss the times I had when my daughter was that little. She is 15 now and swears that she is not a Daddy's girl any more, but will not go to KI and ride DB until I get home. They think I am coming home on the 5th, but I will be home Thursday night, so I think Friday will be the big day for us. Well I did not mean to make this about me, just got a little excited when I saw your beautiful family together having such a great time.

the thin black line
I don't mean to make your headache any worse Terpy, but getting pulled out of line by a line attendant to check for fit is embarrassing, but blabbing it out on the internet is not?

Ashers & kjkjkj PTR/VTR Opening Day!
Carnac the Magnificent says that you are the master of taking statements out of context. Your future is bright to be a reporter, defense attorney, or comedian. (Monroe who thinks all 3 are funny)

Ashers & kjkjkj PTR/VTR Opening Day!
The pleasure is surly all mine when it comes to reading trip reports. All of them on this site are always great, because they have one major thing in common, family and friends. You and your brother remind me of my sister and myself, we do an awful lot together still. When I am away, as I am now, it is always nice to read about some one having a great time. I always pull out the web cam and call home, my wife and daughter will sit and talk with me for hours. This past week has been one of the best weeks, because it felt like I was home with all of the trip reports, and all of the cam talks (as my daughter calls them) we had. I just have one thing to say to close out: Never stop being you brothers/sisters best friend, to have a family is one thing, to have a friend is another, to have both in the same person is irreplaceable. Thanks to all who have written trip reports this week and keep them coming PLEASE.

Avatar not updating
I learned a new one with "assume". Tell people that they should "assu" that way they leave the "me" out of it.

Some times it takes a while to update. As of now, I see your on ride photo on Diamondback. I think what I am trying to say is: Patients young padawan.

Single Riders on DB Line Rocks
I like the wizard of oz, I like the tin man Leave him alone, he's trying to think. (Of how he will shoot his eye out Christmas morning.) Thought you'd get away with it did ya, well think again buster. There are too many snake eyes in this here town. Now go down by the river and see if you can find Black Bart.

Diamondback's Entrance Sign!
In actuality, there is a mine about 3 miles down the road on Columbia Rd. near 48. It is a quarry mine for concrete aggregate, but a mine none the less. Also the Little Miami river was covered with mines for salt peter and other materials to make gun powder, i.e. Peters Cartridge just down the road on the river. The Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana area is rich with mines, every thing from salt to slate and we can't forget about coal just to name a few. I'm not trying to nag on you or any thing, just answering the question. Actually if you look up the history of mining in the area, it is a fascinating read.

Six Flags Great Adventure - Nitro Gets Stuck
There are several ways. They could use a crane and remove the train from the track: or pull the train up the next hill with the crane or a series of pulleys and wenches and let it finish the run. The latter is done only if they are sure it can finish the run. I am sure I have missed different ways of doing it, when it comes to this it seems that every one is an engineer.

What's the Majority age group here in the Ki Forum
I'm in the 0-80 bunch. because that is what my Aston Martin dose in 4sec. and my Nano dose in about an hour.

Bolliger and Mabillard at opening day?
There will be a rep from B&M present, but I do not think it will be Walter or Claude. The thing that most do not realize is that B&M is an engineering and consulting firm. The actual construction of materials, and ultimately the ride itself is done by contracted companies. Some of whom are owned by B&M, and others that are not. I would guess that one of the junior partners could show, other than that it would be a sales rep.

Right Now a Cloudy Opening Day
It's not until other variables are introduced does the chances change. If all we know is that a blind man is throwing a dart and Cincinnati is on a map, then your chances are 50/50. If we know what direction the man is facing, how far away is he, and so on...... then the odds would change.
-
Right Now a Cloudy Opening Day
That actually boils down to a 50/50 chance. I was involved in a study at MIT and we came to the conclusion that: If there were not enough sustainable variables or set facts, then there would be a 50/50 chance that any outcome would occur. In other words: The map is there, and the blind man is throwing the dart, it has a 50/50 chance of hitting any point on the map, or any where else in the area around the blind man. It is not until the dart hits the map or any other area around the blind man that the chances would change. So to put your statement in a meteorological sense, there is a 50/50 chance that any weather condition could occur. Monroe, just trying to straiten things out.

Indianapolis PTR
That is the World War Memorial building. Indianapolis has such an interesting history, and it is good to see people like yourself out and exploring it. Good job, and I can't wait for the next trip report of yours. (Avatar beat me, but he has that bending air thing going for him. All I have is a Merlin engine.)

Diamondback Construction Thread (Updated 3-19-09)
It's not about what enthusiasts think or know, it is about the general public. Also I would like to remind employee's and others of this: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=10464

Diamondback Construction Thread (Updated 3-19-09)
Wording does not matter much, just what people perceive. For instance: I was able to ride Firehawk on Tuesday and received a T-shirt. Well that shirt was going to be saved until I found out that 2 weeks later you could buy one. The shirt did not mean any thing then. This is the same, it's special until you find out that it's not.

Diamondback Construction Thread (Updated 3-19-09)
I would just like to remind people that there is a public auction going on for the first ride on Diamondback. Also If you work for the park, there is such a thing as privileged information. In other words: How would you like it if you paid $3,000 to be the first to ride and come to find out that some one has ridden before you. Employee or not it does and will affect what people think. I would not be happy if I was Don.
