So with the threat of snow Thursday and Friday, and the Winter Wonderland currently seen on the Diamondback webcam, I was wondering how much snow, if any, everyone is experiencing at the moment. In Harrison we have a slight dusting, but in Northern Kentucky, (i.e. Florence, where i work) there was upwards of one inch. So lets see your pictures! This image is out my front window in Harrison, on the west side of Hamilton County.

I will miss Scooby the most, simply because I spent my first season working at the park walking on that turntable. :-) Demon Drop is my next because i never got to ride it. Always walked past it thinking "I'll ride it next time" Well now it's too late lol. I'll miss SoB a little, I didn't actually like the ride until it got the G-trains. Nick U on the other hand I will not miss at all. I grew up with Hannah Barbera and even worked in HB its last season in 05, so when Nick took over in 06, I wasn't too happy.

^O trust me, I don't think we will see them go anywhere for many years to come.

^I would be disappointed too, but I don't think we will see the Fountains go anywhere. As Beast1979 had posted earlier, Mr. Kinzel loves the entrance to KI and because of this, I would hope he wouldn't allow the fountains to be removed.

Darn it Beast you beat me to it! This should be Interesting to see how this plays out. What I wonder about is whether this new company will just me the majority share holder and completely take over managment or if they will let things be.

All the FoF track needs at this point is a hose. It's pretty dusty, but I think the paint is probably is pretty good shape.

Hopefully no ugly neon pink and green colors . Are you talking about Reptar or Odd Coaster?? Personally I'd like to see Reptar painted a nice bright royal blue.

^^Regardless, it is still something to keep us occupied during the off season. Not so sure i can stand reading about Meep being banned at schools. And I understand what you are saying Beast1979, a few new signs and paint, but I personally have never like the Nicktoons in the Kids area. I grew up with the HB characters and even managed to work at SDAHC in 2005, so I would like to see the transformation. My guess is i'm not the only one either.

While we are talking about Planet Snoopy, I want to throw out there that I really hope we see construction updates. I think it would be neat to have a page like the Construction Pictures updates that were on the Diamondback site last off season, but I don't see that happening. Does anyone else believe that we will only see occasional updates on the Kings Island Insider Blog?

Cedar Point 2010/2011
tycoonrebel7188 replied to CincyMan98's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Doubtful, but Cedar Point has posted somewhere, I believe it was their Twitter, that said "Gee See Eye". Some believe it refers to GCI the wood coaster company. Only time will tell us what is coming to CP in 2010/2011. -
I'm sorry to hear of your experience with security. But like it has been said before, you should tell a ride operator about the line jumpers. It is cause for removal from the park. I've seen a few occassions this year where the ride opps at a ride did not allow the jumpers to ride and escorted them out of the line.

Hey Dane, looks like you caught someone in the act of taking On-ride photography. Two pictures in fact. Pictures 11 and 14. It's at the top of the picture, you can see someone's arm sticking up holding what looks like a disposable camera. http://www.KICentral.com/photos/displayima...=304&pos=10 Just thought I'd point that out. haha These are great photos and I can't wait to see everyone enjoying themselves tomorrow.

1988 – Amazon Falls arrives providing a good drenching ride. I'm not sure when Amazon Falls opened, but I came along July 1st that year.

Diamondback Construction Thread (Updated 3-19-09)
tycoonrebel7188 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
To lockout a ride means to disable the power to the controls or the ride. This is done if there is a need to evacuate from the lift hill so the train will not move in the process. -

They can also lockout the ride while the train is sitting on the lift like it is now. It also looks like there are people standing on the lift next to the train. My guess is they could be practicing evacuation precedures. -
Diamondback Construction Thread (Updated 3-19-09)
tycoonrebel7188 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
Actually, many times throughout the season, I would see Crypt with a line that extended into the midway. I hope there is at least a small section of queue still left so this no longer happens. -

These boats look pretty nice. I might have to make my first trip to Holiday World summer. -
Diamondback Construction Thread (Updated 3-19-09)

Grrr.. .. .. nothing bothers me more than when I'm in a line that has switchbacks and someone ahead of me decides to screw with their friends by moving the gate. Not only does it waste time, but I also see it as a possible hazard. For example, the switchback gates at Beast could very well crush someone's fingers if they had them in the wrong spot whilst someone was playing with it. -
According to Don Helbig, Beast will have a newly renovated entrance this season.
-
I only wish, but my obligations are already set for opening day.
-
Gosh I really hope Beast is not broken on opening day. If not I wont have anything to do that day. I'd be standing around doing nothing waiting for it to open.

My first looping coaster was Son of Beast. My family went up to the park to process our season passes and while we were there my dad and I decided we wanted to try Son of Beast before we left. The loop was great but we both felt terrible afterwards from being beat up so much.

^ When I rode Sheikra in 2006 I could not believe how smooth it was, I can only imagine Griffon is the same, if not better. I really need to make a trip over to Busch Gardens Europe some time this summer or next.

^^Not every ride can have the 30+ seconds of airtime that Diamondback has. I love airtime but I also love the speed that Millie offers, with the occasional burst of air.
