  1. Ok I understand where Launches 1st strike may be, but we have no proof as of yet as to whether the tower is changing or not. For all we know the timing of the colors could match the refresh of the camera for some odd reason. For right now I think Launch only has 1 strike....not 2. I just took another look at the webcam and hit the refresh button and the tower went from a lighter blue color to a dark blue almost purple. Take this how ever you want.
  2. Really I think the only way as of right this moment, to get a picture of the tower (unless some one lives even closer than you Launch) is to just watch the webcam and see if the color of the tower changes each time the cam refreshes. http://www.centralmediaserver.com/wcpo/webcams/56-09-01.jpg
  3. I saved the link to my favorites a while ago when some one posted it here on KIC. Here it is for everyone that wants it. http://www.centralmediaserver.com/wcpo/webcams/56-09-01.jpg
  4. My guess is it'll be crowded if the weather is good. I think a lot of people will want to see any of the changes made by Cedar Fair. And as far as we know Son of Beast and Firehawk will not be open this weekend.
  5. If you look at this link you can see Drop Zone testing in the background, and if you direct your attention to the left side of the screen you can see a red train on racer cresting a hill. O I can not wait until saturday to be at the park while it is alive. (even if i am going to be working the last 4 hours of the park being open)
  6. I saw the new flags saturday after ride training.
  7. This day in 1979 was the media day for The Beast. (Note: The Beast was opened to the public on the 14th.) Was anyone on these board actually there? Can you tell us a little about your experience? Thanks. Also, on April 13th, 1991, Adventure Express, the first Arrow Dynamics Runaway Train to be built in the U.S. in a decade, opened.
  8. The gates open at 10 a.m. and so do the rides.
  9. Yeah, a few of us know that one is still there. That's the one that used to be on the www.wcpo.com but for some reason now it's gone to a camera of a lake or some other body of water.
  10. This morning I was on www.wcpo.com to check the weather and after I was done I thought I would take a look at the "Kings Island" webcam to see if they had corrected the problem and actually made the picture of Kings Island. But as I was reading down the page it says this, "This camera is located on the top of the 1/3 sized Eiffel Tower replica at Paramount's Kings Island." There hasn't been a webcam, viewable by the public from on top of the Eiffel Tower in quite a few years as far as I know. So take this with a grain of salt. It may mean a new camera is coming, or it could just be a screw up on the page. Most likely the latter. Check it out for yourself here. KI webcam
  11. Thanks Dane. Now I don't have large black lines on the side on my screen. haha
  12. I'd say so! Do they realize that the webcam is automated and that they cant tell the speed of the train just froma few webcam pics? I think when they are refering to the speed they are talking about what they have seen on the live "video" webcam at www.funcoast.com/funcam. On this camera it is possible to see the speed of the train, because it is taking constant pictures instead of just updating every 60 seconds.
  13. I agree with you UncleHenry, the sooner they get rid of Beast and the tower the sooner we can have a parking lot coaster. O wait....we're not six flags...guess we just get a really big parking lot then.
  14. Just let me know when ya plan on doing that and we'll get a "chain" gang together and get rid of that sucker. haha
  15. Simmer down a little guys. In case you didnt know UncleHenry in fact "loves" The Beast (so he says) and would probably chain himself to it if he could.
  16. I'm voting for a KI Museum.
  17. That is rediculous. I hope this "class action lawsuit" turns out just like the Alton Towers thing turned out. Where the court turns down the complaints and lets the park stay as is.
  18. wow those steel workers are flyin. (sorry for the cheesy pun) but if you look at the very left of the picture of the overbanked turn, you can see the fly-to-lie just before the dive to the loop.
  19. If you're going to make the site more child friendly, make the links large and colorful. Kids may be confused if there are a lot of links. You could make it look like, ironicaly, www.nick.com.
  20. If you look really hard in some of the Firehawk construction pics here on KIC, I think you can see the part of the track that broke last year through the trees. You obviously can't see the loop area though. lol
  21. Wouldn't there be signs that let guests know that the ride is being tested? Yes, but there's a word that starts with an R and ends with a D which people seems to loose the ability to do when in groups. I know it's been said many times on all websites, but many guest do seem to leave their brains at the front gate or at home.
  22. I've been taking photos from Dropoff for 3+ years now. They keep those vending machines stocked and payphones active all year, and I see people there using them occasionally. I even had a guard go by wave at me as I was there taking photos, so I'd say you won't have a problem. I didn't mean to exclude you at all PKIDelirium, I just happened to be in the drop off areaone say at the same time Nemo was taking pictures. Sorry if you were saddened at all. lol
  23. sorry for the double post. I got an error that said something about flood control.
  24. I know Captain Nemo took some pics from there earlier this year. So as far as I know, if you want to take pictures from the drop off area, you can.
  25. Yet another great reason why I love being part of KICentral. I love this idea. Bring on the KIC Newsletter!
