I'm hoping Cut Throat is good... by the looks and sounds of things, it looks to be fairly larger than Redbeard's.
-
I've never rode it anywhere but in the first few cars... So, I'm going to have to say the front. Maybe I need to try the back sometime.

The only thing thus far I have lost on rides is change... However, I did have a close call at CP. I almost lost my girlfriend's camera on Magnum... It somehow worked its way out of a zipped pocket. As we hit the bottom of the second hill before the pretzel, I felt something hit my foot. I couldn't tell what it was, so I stepped on it lightly to keep it in the car. After we got back to the station, I figured I just turn in someones lost article that happened to fly in our car. Low and behold it was her camera that had been on the floor. I got extremly lucky on that one... she had just gotten that for her birthday a few months prior. That same day, I caught someones sunglasses on Corkscrew... I caught them going into the loop. When we got back to the station I just loudly asked if someone lost some glasses. The owner finally realized they were hers after not even noticing they were gone. The short hop before the loop seems like a culprit for taking items.

Mine is the 15th as well... I really just want to know what i'll be doing in Cut Throat...

lol Kat I think you do have a point... but hey the view of the park is still nice.

My favorite part is the top of the second lift hill... the veiw of the park from that angle is unmatched... also the tension that builds there going into the helix is insane.

Cold Water Thrown on Zoombezi Bay
AgentSoB replied to RailRider's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Back in the day when it was a member of the Six Flags family, Wyandot Lake did not allow tubes in the lazy river. The upcharge for tube rental was there, but they were used in the wave pool. It was very hard to swim in the wave pool because of this. I was once actually pulled from the water after being trapped under a group of tubes. Although SF kind of took the lazy out of the river, it was still entertaining to me. Sometimes it makes me angry when the lifegaurds get anal at KI for you leaving your raft... -
Yes... Tracy would be me... It was indeed a great day... Skyline was another first for me. I found it quite interesting. I will seriously consider giving it another go because those Chilito things were pretty great. As far as rides go I was thrilled to hit Flight Deck because I haven't rode that in a few trips. I found DT to be more freaky the second time. Diamondback was great as usual and somewhat fills the void but, I really am started to have SoB withdraws. This all concluded with WEBN fireworks... WOW I even made it home awake... p.s. Nice to finally meet you Rotag...

I'd have to say Scorpion at Busch Gardens was pretty intense... Also, I really enjoy Corkscrew at The Point. I love the short hop before the loop. Also, any of the suspendeds because they are that darn cool. Too bad we don't see much of these any more.

great site... I can't wait. I too usually used haunt to scream through the woods on the coasters. This year though I'll be making people scream and run to the coasters.

Could SFKK's Chang be in danger?
AgentSoB replied to a topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
While it would be a huge loss the park could benefit from a huge waterpark expansion. Especially if it is the main draw. I haven't been there for a few years, but I here things have gotten better. Heck I enjoyed it the last time I went rude operators, overflowing trash, and all... I think it all depends on how much of a good time you want to have. Chang was awesome... scared the holy heck out of me at the time though. -
Halloween Haunt Now Has Its Own Twitter! and Blog

I think they are counting the Redbeard's Revenge re-do as a new attraction. When I was casted for it the person said it was new for this year... Considering it is in a new spot and will most likely be totally different it could be considered new... -
Lol I still can't believe how much fun we crammed into a day... a busy Saturday at that. This weekend I was bummed because nothing could compare to the previous weekend.

Thanks again for going along with me on that first ride.... It has taken me several years to finally take that ride on Drop Tower. I haven't been scared of coasters since 2001 and that fateful ride on SoB. When it came to Drop Tower and a few other flats I just kinda avoided 'em and said, "hey maybe next time."

Joint TR: 4th Coming and Rocky Horror Picture Show
AgentSoB replied to Justin_M17's topic in Trip Reports
It was an awesome day man... I wish I could have went to the show with you all. Cedar Point ended up being a little bit of a drag, but still a good time none the less. The picnic was indeed sweet.. even with my mosquito killing madness. -
Yeah... I think there is going to be quite a few funny moments on there. I can only imagine if I would have rode skyflier too. I can't believe I lost my ticket. I guess it will leave me with something to do on another visit.

August 22nd 2009 will go down as one of my most favorite days in the park period. One reason why I can say this is because despite the crowds, I was still able to have a good time due to the company around me. I left Columbus around 6:30 to arrive at my desired time of 7:45. Due to some very annoying tractor trailors, I got to the park around 7:55 to find the tolls still closed. I decided to stop down the street at a gas station for a quick drink and to give them time to open the tolls. Check in was a breeze, So I began to search the crowd. I saw a few familiar faces in a crowd of many new faces. We ended up getting back to DB around 8:35ish and I procided to ride with Ogrmac, Beetle w/kids, Kiruler102 w/ dad. DB seemed to chug a little bit, but it was quite chilly. After a few rides on DB, Dustin (Kiruler102) and myself decided to give The Beast a little love. We took a backseat ride in a fairly empty train. After another ride, I decided my shoulder had had enough so we went back to DB for one more ride. It was just after 10 and Dustin and I wanted a ride on The Crypt. A few others joined us for the first ride of the day The Crypt ran. Jesse put The Crypt into good words... As a thrill ride the current program is not great, but with a bit more theme in the box it good be something the family could enjoy. We then proceded to take a group photo for GOCC at the DB splashdown. At that time, we realized Dustin had left his hoodie in a bin at the DB station. His dad went to go and find it and take it to the car while we continued on to Firehawk before it got crazy from the GP arrival. We hit Firehawk with a 15 minute wait and because of that I have to say that probably the best ride I've had on it. Usually I'm so frustrated from the line, it takes away from the ride. We decided then to try to hit Action Zone. As a lot of people know, for a while, it has been a goal of mine to ride Drop Tower. Well, I got to escape because the ride was sporting a hour and a half wait. Whew, I was relieved. Well on our way away from DT we saw everyone's favorite stalker Rachel, Justin and #1 Racer fan Danielle (sorry ). Skyflier had a 5 dollar price but a huge line so I decided today would be another first for me and I would take a ride on that later. Stalkerchick wanted a ride on DB so we went over and waited through all the queues in 45 minutes (gotta love capacity). After this, I broke up with the group to meet my cousin who surprised me with a call the night before telling me he was heading to the park. I waited with him for his first ride on DB. (He loved it). He along with his dad then hit up White Water Canyon while I waited. I concluded my time with him with a backseat ride on Vortex his favorite ride. It was time for the picnic for which I was a little late. The food was actually pretty good. The fried chicken left a little bit to be decided, but everything else was above par in terms of park food. I set with Bavarian and his kids (sorry I don't know your names) along with Makayla. Dustin then informed me that a group would be escorting me to Drop Tower after the tours. I then quickly remembered that I had to get my employee ID processed for haunt. I ran to associate services with only 30 minutes until the sign shop tour. The line was really long, but several people were waiting for checks so they were pulled aside. I made it to the sign shop tour just in time. Inside was great as it started raining, plus the signs were amazing. The Beast tour was the same old same old. However, it never really gets boring going behind the scenes. We were back there as Markr was taking a front seat ride on the ride. We then proceded to Drop Tower for me to finally face my fear I was escorted there by Dustin, Justin, Rachel, Danielle, both of the Sean's, Andrew, Fan of Beast, as well as Jesse and Ryan. Once there, I was willing to enter willingly after a trip to the restroom and a call to my girlfriend. After a few pics we entered the queue. All through the line, I kept saying uhh guys I think this line is moving too fast. Then there came the moment when I realized I'd be on the next cycle. I stated maybe I should of had a few La rosas pizzas so I wouldn't fit. Rachel said there was no way I wasn't getting on. I buckled the belt and looked over to tell Ryan on a scale from 1 to 10 fear was a 40. It wasn't 100 until we started moving. I got a tour of unseen things from the ground to keep me occupied courtest of Rachel. I even got a countdown at the top. After all that, it wasn't that bad. Still freaked the holy heck outta me. I left a mark on Rachel's hand from the ride, and i managed to produce a very high pitched scream. All of this is photographed and on video. So stay tuned when those are posted by Ryan. To keep this more short, I needed a break from extremeness so we took relaxing rides on Adventure Express and The Racer. We were obliterated by the red side on The Racer by a full train length. I then broke off from the group along with Justin, Rachel, and Danielle to have a parking lot picnic. I was quite hungry from having to rush to get my ID processed and not being able to eat much food. The picnic was awesome we had peanut butter sandwiches and chips along with fruit and cookies. After eating we had quite a few hilarious chats along with several failed attempts at a picture of all of us. We then realized that time was ticking. We hurried back in to take another ride on DB. Along the way we picked up Adam (PKIBoy) and Ryan (Coasterkid). Thanks to Gabe, we all got to ride together because Danielle got seperated from us. We made it back to The Beast for a night ride knowing it would shut down for the fireworks. While in line everyone goofed off. I had a nice chat with Ryan which passed the time nicely. We also chatted with an ACE rep from California who we met earlier in the Drop Tower line. He was very nice and took some pictures of us as well as shared some of his own from his travels. His camera is very nice... it had a slow motion feature which he used to catch a cool video of the DB splashdown. We concluded the night with an awesome ride on The Beast once it resumed operation and another epic Mystery Machine photo. I was so excited to see it end, but I had to get going so I could get home. I had a Cedar Point trip planned with them the following day. I only took a few pics, but here they are... Here is a not so great shot of The Beast Drop Here I missed... Compared to sonny, papa's structure looks a bit minimal. The train carrying Markr I love this shot... also shows that mother nature was trying to unleash. This is a GOCC'rs shirt... I though it was pretty cool so I asked to take the photo. This is an interesting angle On the way back to the sign shop... I spy some history... I wonder what this is... we weren't allowed to touch. Some got a picture though. Scooby held his place high in the shop. so did this guy I thought this was neat... This should be in some areas of the park. I miss this... as well as this even if i didn't get to ride it. He's hiding in the sign shop in the corner... he's been bad. I figured I throw this in... it my sisters on Skyhawk Starlight Experience is awesome at CP My Grandma doing the #1 thing she misses at KI Thanks for reading and looking at this very long report Tracy

Yeah... I'd say that this was probably the best trip I had to Kings Island yet. However, I lost my voice a bit. I wonder if it was Drop Tower?
-
I have to give a shout to the Red Racer crew they really hype up the race when a race actually occurs. The funny thing is, if blue side is not ready the red crew will usually make a comment about it. The best comment I've heard yet was a ride op saying, "Awww that other train looks blue today... i guess they don't want to race."
-
As far as SoB goes... do they still have clearanced merchandise anywhere? I'd really like to get a hold on a few t-shirts.
-
I'll be there and am excited to take parts in the event with the group as well as the people not participating. It's going to take a whole heck of a lot of people to get me on Drop Tower.
-
YARRRR!!!! I be where de Pirates be... Hopefully it will be fun.

I absolutely love the premise of Cornstalkers... When first done a few years back as a simple haunted path it was great. Now the location is better, but everytime I went through the maze last year there were very few creatures in there.

Diamondback Front, Back, or Middle?
AgentSoB replied to KI FANATIC 37's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Rows 1,4,and 16 are where it's at... The only seat I have found thus far that I don't like is row 11. The ride is pretty forceless there compared to the other seats on the train.
