  1. To think people would go to such extreme measures... in this day and age jokes like this are not necessary.
  2. Perhaps they are protecting the trains from the elements for a while. I was thinking they may hire a new crew to run it during haunt. That being several weeks away they would want to keep the moving parts from the elements. Also, if it were completely done for the year, I would figure they'd just yank the trains off the track and begin the winter rehab on them.
  3. I was up at the park today for my audition... I got my spot on the Haunt Team as a Pirate. The associates working were all very friendly. Several were holding conversations about how dead today was in there compared to yesterday. I am so stoked...The only negative thing will be the drive from Columbus to Mason every weekend. While not terrible, still a drag.
  4. I applied and am going to one of the open interviews... However if you have a preference not to be near clowns (Yuck) I don't suppose they'll put you there anyways? Right? I am just excited at the possibility of doing this.
  5. That is an excellent idea Gabe I had never thought of that. My main concern was always losing the keys from my trunks after time in Boomerang Bay. That would work perfect.
  6. I can kinda see the THE Son of Beast thing... what ticks me off is when the "the" is placed in the middle of the title. It is not titled The Son of The Beast.
  7. I enjoyed The Crypt on my ride several weeks back... even the two flips were enough for me and the crew operating the ride were very friendly. It was a good experience.
  8. I hoping that all goes well for me I put in my app today... I honestly can't wait even if the hours are going to be bad.
  9. We should now refer to that area as the basketball boneyard...
  10. I think it would be really cool at least on a coaster... Drop Tower or something of that nature not so great.
  11. The sad thing is that they spend 20 dollars winning the ball to do stupid stuff like that with the prize.
  12. 1. kjkjkj/ Kyle- Maybe going 2. Ashers/ Ashley- Maybe going 3. HTCO (maybe) 4. dare-to-fly 5. Justin M17/ Justin 6. AgentSoB/ Tracy Should be fun considering I'm going to CP the next day... I wouldn't miss it though. I'll be there and ready to finally take my first ride on Drop Tower.
  13. My question is how formal are the open interviews for the positions. I'll most likely go to the park for the day when I interview. I just don't want to over or underdress.
  14. Nice trip report...as always your pictures are fantastic. I'm hoping to score a trip to Universal later this year. My friend actually won tickets to go and has invited me. As a matter of fact, he won a full fledge vacation now that I think of it.
  15. I agree I think that Mantis has a really great color scheme... I also have to rank Vortex up there, orange and blue complement each other well. Edit* I forgot Montu that is a nicely painted scheme as well... The Heiroglyphics on the Egypt themed walls are nice as well. http://www.rcdb.com/ig87.htm?picture=16 Here is the queue http://www.rcdb.com/ig87.htm?picture=27
  16. I think the site is a great creation and can really be a portal for us "Ride Warriors" to come together. One thing I might suggest is perhaps a trivia type quiz with prizes. I think that would be real fun... By the way, I love the opening flash video it is well done.
  17. I found the site to be very interesting... Sure it has some bugs, but it is a great attempt. I really think that it is cool for CF to be pushing this ride warrior thing so hard. I think the opening intro video is very good and really shows the thrills they offer enthusiasts like us. Now if it doesn't get fixed fully that's when I'll be come dissapointed. For now though, kudos to CF for shouting out to us ride warriors. Seems they appreciate us.... so i'm throwing a little appreciation back at them.
  18. Plain and simple I don't want it gone... however, if the downtime is because of another major issue I could see it finally get cut. I love the ride and will ride it in any seat at any time. The ride has always been in the middle of a love/hate argument, and will most likely always be that way. It is sometimes hard to see the others side, but some of us love the ride. It hurts when people down something I feel so strongly for... I deal with this all the time. Rooting for the underdog is fun though, especially when the certain underdog broke your fear of coasters.

SoB is a great front seat ride.... I however enjoy it in every seat. I've rode it in the back recently and came off pleased. The rosebowl does hurt in the back, but the rest of the ride is fine.
  20. It was a great day despite the rain... Thanks for introducing me to the Crypt. Although short and very lackluster, I was still in a way thrilled. I was almost disapointed that I've passed it up for so many years. The lights, music, and theme were a very nice touch.
  21. I'd like to go back to KI in 1981 to take a crack at The Bat. I love suspended roller coasters and would really have liked to take a ride on the first one. Also, a ride on King Cobra in '84 would be nice. Alas no matter what I never even had the chance to see The Bat. My mom told me several times of how she chickened out when in line to ride. I get angry at her everytime she tells me this. At least she coulde of gave me some kind of perspective.
  22. This is why several of the people I know that can't fit on dragster want to go have a great adventure. However I wouldn't mind having a great adventure either, even after riding dragster.
  23. I'm not sure about MF or TTD, but I find Maverick to be pretty roomy. The over the shoulder part does not rest on my shoulders like most of the other styles. Also, like Diamondback I think it is mostly in the thighs with Maverick, unless you are extremely barrel chested. A few people I know that can't fit on most B&M's fit on Maverick.
  24. I love both of the roller coasters. However, I give the notch to SoB. I love the speed and the height of the ride. It roars through its course much like its father. However, there is just something about it that just gives me goosebumps. It is a pure rush. If only it had a tunnel like papa... On a side note, I do too like Mean Streak. This is mostly because of its layout. With proper trains and the trim on the drop removed, it would probably be a great ride.
  25. I didn't hear anything about what was going on all day. However, on Paddlewheel Excursions the captain stated, "we are currently crossing under Millennium Force; It's big, it's blue, and it's broken." I gave a little bit of a chuckle to that. I actually thought about you Giga when I saw it was looking put back together. I said to myself Giga will be happy to know they have worked this fast on it.
