I tend to enjoy being by myself. But most of my visits to KI aren't about riding coasters.

Where is your Favorite Place to Eat While At KI?
faeriewench replied to mccarthysnerd's topic in KI Polls
In park I like the milkshakes at Graeters. But I prefer eating outside the park. -
They continued to play that video through the early and mid 2000s. I think the last time I saw the video was 2007 (2006 for sure). That song/video really does bring back a lot of KI memories. I Want You by Savage Garden....anyone who had to spend extended period of time out in Boomerang Bay its first couple years should look it up and see if it jars some memory, lol. And for some strange reason "Spanish Harlem" by Ben E King (imo one of the most beautiful songs I ever heard) makes me think of KI now.. Curious anyone know who it was that sung the version of Waltzing Matilda that played in the water park? Now THAT would really make me think of KI, every once in awhile it still pops into my head.

I've always heard of it as a breeding ground. Dunno how accurate it is though

Top 10 USA theme Parks:
faeriewench replied to westcoaster's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
1.) SeaWorld Orlando 2.) Dollywood 3.) Busch Gardens Tampa 4.) Busch Gardens Europe 5.) Knott's Berry Farm 6.) IOA 7.) Universal Orlando 8.) SeaWorld San Antonio That's all I got. I need to visit DLand, I may like it and I don't like WDW. KI isn't really a theme park no more and CP never been one really so not listing them either. >.> -
That was Zodiac I believe

I Feel for you by Chaka Khan is another. Remember the adorable kitties on the TVs in the queue lines when that song played? ha..

Thanks DeLorean Rider! As weird as it may sound, the identity of the ride bugged me since 1999 (still kind of a kid back then) haha..

Theme from Mission Impossible Star Trek Next Generation theme My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion (Titanic...) Monster by The Automatic to name a few..

Seeing as I already began a thread like this, I'll just use this one to post any finds I come across laying around that I am having a hard time identifying for myself, as opposed to making a new thread every time. On the 1999 brochures when Face/Off and Drop Zone debuted, what is the Drop Tower ride they used? http://i580.photobuc...ck/IMG_4136.jpg ...yeah I like filling my mind up with what some people would consider useless knowledge.

I rode the thing once its opening season, too rough, vowed to myself to never go near it ever again. 2003, I was back on it. I neither loved it, nor hated it. Only reason I rode it as much as I did, it was typically a walk-on so that and Top Gun (which I actually do love) were good time killers.

Thats awesome! Now that song is gonna spring into my head whenever I'm around the ride.

Just like I was watching a pov just yesterday of Nitro and someone commented, and I quote, "dis da behemoth not nitro"... Even though it clearly says Nitro on the zero car. and when people try to correct him he insists it's still Behemoth and insults anyone who says otherwise. Those are what I like to call "trolls". They do it on purpose just to get under your skin >.> That's why I ignore comments on YT videos. I remember one time someone posted "I used to ride The Beast when it was at Six Flags" on a POV video for Beast (yes, he was talking about KI's) I must be minority..I thought Invertigo was pretty in pink ok maybe not.

Ed Alonzo’s Psycho Circus- Magic and Mayhem
faeriewench replied to TylerRider's topic in Kings Island
Ed Alonzo done OK work when I saw his show at Knott's. I'm not sure though I like removing the ice skating show, took KI how many years to get one back? I think it be better suited for Festhaus. :/ -

PETA Accuses SeaWorld Of Animal Slavery
faeriewench replied to coaster_junky's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
^No, at least not me. PETA been trying to get SW to retire the group of killer whales that were captured in the 60s-70s for years to a sea pen if reintroduction to a pod fails (sea pen is captivity too..) One of said killer whales is about 45 years old now (been in the care of man since the 60s), blind in one eye (albeit killer whales don't rely so much on eyesight as sound but..) and has kidney problems. Also we know most of her family is dead too. Why release her? PETA and other some other real loud individuals I'm thinking of conveniently leave important bits out when they talk about the releases of Keiko and Springer. Keiko's story was a disaster, he ran away from a calf (a baby!) even seeking protection with the boat his human caregivers were on to give an idea. Springer's release wasn't a success because her natal pod (grandma, aunts and uncles) rejected her, rammed her and chased her away. She was taken in by a distant relative after being on her own for a good while. One of PETA's international groups recently attacked the food menu for patrons at SeaWorld Gold Coast in Australia (not connected to the SeaWorld/Busch gardens in the US) for using fish. " fish are intelligent, sensitive and interesting animals".
