Tried to get the chef's special at Coney BBQ yesterday. They said they were out of it. Unfortunately that appears to be a common theme this year.

The Prestige++ will be $499 and include rotten fruit sitting on your tap water until they take that benefit away too.

Next thing you know they’ll be giving free tap water out to everyone too!

I mean, money is money, but if you’re paying $7/ticket in surcharges it doesn’t feel like it has much value.

I was thinking, if they made a high quality diorama of the ballroom scene I’d spend a fair amount for it. Like if it were good I’d shell out over $100.

Here is what you’re dealing with at the Brewhouse: It tastes better than it looks. I’m not a fan of the pork rinds so I pick them off but the avocado on it is a nice touch.

Have we been given any indication that they are coming back? I kind of assumed that they were gone for good

They can tell people and have signs saying that the restraint will lower on its own, but people are used to lowering their own restraint so they’re going to do that due to muscle memory. They should have accounted for this. If pulling on it caused a fault then that’s a huge design flaw that should have been addressed many iterations ago.

I see where you’re going with that, but it comes down to the original adage of, it’s two meals per day, four hours apart. If you wish to walk into the park, use it, and leave then who are they to tell you that you can’t? Theoretically you’re actually saving them money by not riding rides, seeing shows, etc.

I was too, and I did get into VIP there. They changed the rules with the release of Tony’s blog about it.

If anything they’ve proven that some will do it.

Although I don’t disagree with you that it’s annoying, I think that it’s a big fallacy to justify smaller portions because others are misusing the program. Just like the abuse of the bottled water in the VIP Lounge, that sucks, but that’s not my problem. I paid for it. I shouldn’t be punished for something that’s the park’s responsibility to fix. If the price went up or the meal plan went away next year then I would be more apt to point the finger at them. But here’s the quick solution: No to-go containers. The meals are intended to be used at the park. No part of the program guarantees you can take stuff home. I agree - it’s clearly not within the spirit of the program. That would shave off a huge percentage of those who are doing this. On the other hand, you get two meals a day, four hours apart. Why is it their business where you eat the second meal? I think there are very much two sides to this, but yes - it’s annoying to see people brag about it knowing it’s probably to the detriment of everyone else.

Oof. Unfortunately, trying to round up a good finish to a quarter is likely not a reason to give away $0 tickets.

I think many would report that KD might be the best this year. CP’s turkey in the Grand Pavillion… I can’t say enough about how great it is! I ate it three times over the weekend! KI’s has fallen off badly this year. At Jukebox, my girlfriend got chicken tenders that had clearly been sitting around for a long time. They were rock solid. That wouldn’t have happened last year. In two different instances, I’ve had a table full of people who got the Clucks ‘n Barrels at Brew and either the chicken, the tots or both tasted like the oil hadn’t been changed in weeks. Like a terribly unappetizing dark color and burnt taste. I ate at the park dozens of times last year and this never happened. I’d be less concerned, but I’ve been visiting a lot less this year so the percentage of “old hat” quality meals is much higher. I don’t think the food is horrid. I still have more food than bad, but I am concerned about this trend

I was at CP over the weekend and was able to get the FOTL passes no questions asked. I didn’t poke the bear about the VIP Lounge, but I had read online that they were denying entry. That’s not terribly important to me, though. I also heard that you could park in Preferred, but we were staying at Breakers so we parked in the back. I have some friends who were at Carowinds and were denied all benefits (except Preferred Parking, but I’m guessing they just didn’t vet the pass that they had presented). They talked to Guest Services there and they said that the policy changed as of a specific day in May. According to what they told me, they brought up that they were able to use the benefits in the Fall, but the Guest Services person said there was nothing they could do, citing the policy.
