The forum skin is the new default. We changed it as a result of the downtime that occurred this afternoon. Our community is getting larger and larger and is becoming more and more taxing on our server. As a result of this, we decided to make the default skin something that has several fewer images associated with it. This should help free up some server connectivity and help KIC stay on this server for at least a little while longer. So yeah, I'm sure I've told you guys this before, but KIC only lasts on a server for about 6 months before we are evicted. Every time we move, it's always to be a bigger and faster server and six months later, our community outgrows it and we are asked (well, instructed) to take our business elsewhere.

In this life? There are nothing but possibilities...

If you look at the main sign, the spacing is a little awkward. Makes it look like it says, TOM BRAIDER: THE RIDE. They should just call it that.

Why do I get the feeling they're going to use the old props from Curse of the Crypt and reconfigure them into Tomb Raider to form a 'new' attraction? Unless they have some big money going toward renovations and new scenery for TR, then stealing props from the Haunt would be the next best thing. 'Specially when they just spent close to $15,000 on new animatronic monsters alone for the event. I'm sure that everyone from Mr. Kinzel all the way down to the average line-level employee has about the same idea as to what exactly the final product will look like. Ideas keep changing... but changing for the better, I trust.

How do you rate the food service at Kings Island?
BoddaH1994 replied to Young Gunz's topic in KI Polls
I'm pushing for a "dinner and a show" idea like they have at CP... except with maybe a little better quality show... -
If I were a decision maker at Kings Island, and had like 50 million to put into it, I'd use your idea and drop you a ton of money for coming up with it. Good thinking.

ALL names will change... but then again, if I went by Bill A. Smith and decided to go by just Bill A., or even Bill Smith, that would be a change too.

How do you rate the food service at Kings Island?
BoddaH1994 replied to Young Gunz's topic in KI Polls
I can see why he omitted that. Ask anyone about theme park prices on about anything and that becomes the biggest issue. My take is, Kings Island can charge about anything and let's be honest... I'll probably pay it. But I do expect something of quality to be put in front of me if they're going to charge me anything for the food. -
Expect all Paramount names to change. Some will be simply dropping a word or phrase, some will be a total retheme. Of course, decisions on this are far from finalized. I think Don's exact quote at the GOCC thing was that the new names, "Depend on what day it is and who you ask." Which of course implies that the ideas keep changing. However, I won't be too shocked to see Spongebob, Dora, Diego and many of your favorite Nickelodeon characters at the park for many years to come.

I'd expect it before the Christmas holidays more than likely. Some things are still being finalized.

The preliminary opening day for KI will be April 19th, 2007. New for 2008! Kings Island will be open from 10-10 on Fridays in May!!

Plans for Coaster EXT are not finalized, however I believe that you will find it being an evening event with a picnic and a big ERT.

Don and I both thought the crowd was wonderful. If you're a presenter, your worst fear is that you can have is that people will either get bored during your speech, or worse yet, not ask questions at the end. You guys laughed at all of our cheesy jokes and were very active during the Q&A... we really couldn't ask for more...

Yeah, mainly Bryan talked about the addition of the new kids area to the Point. In addition to that, he showed us a home video of he and his family enjoying the park saying that his family having fun is what means the most to him.

How does the phrase go? Those who know don't tell, those who don't know tell? Something like that? I don't play that game. I don't know and I'm not talking.

Tonight, I attended the Great Ohio Coaster Club's Christmas party with Don Helbig. It was the first time Kings Island had been represented at GOCC's Christmas party, so we were both really excited to be part of a 'first' on both sides of the fence. Presentations were made by Bryan Edwards from Cedar Point, who talked about the new additions to Cedar Point, Geauga Lake, and other dealings with Cedar Fair. This was my first time meeting Bryan, and I found him to be a really nice guy. Next was Mary Lou Rosemeyer from Kennywood. I was really excited to hear someone from Kennywood speak because that's my favorite park besides KI and I had never made any of the officials from there. Mary Lou told us about a movie that they're wrapping up filming at the park, and their new attraction for next year (although we promised not to talk about it yet!!). Finally Don Helbig spoke about Kings Island, what it has to offer and I spoke about KIC. As stated in an other post, the Paramount stuff WILL be rethemed next year. What the names will be? No one knows for sure yet. Overall, we had a really good time. The GOCC people were very nice and enthusiastic. It was our pleasure to attend their event and hopefully it'll be an annual thing!

Ha... thanks for the shameless plug, Bombay. Don and I had a great time at the GOCC Christmas party tonight. We were really honored that Kings Island could finally be officially represented. On the note that Raptor Jo mentioned above, Tomb Raider WILL be reopened next year... sort of... Expect the Paramount-branded rides to get a retheme... also, don't be shocked if there are some surprises with that big top-spin-in-a-box next year!

Official Poll: After One Season, do you prefer new SOB or old?
BoddaH1994 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in KI Polls
Enough with the paradox. Let's get back on topic. -
^ Yep, I think the nail was hit right on the head.

Meh... everyone's an expert. Then again, you're making the same claim that others are... that you know something that we don't. Many people still work at the park in the off season. From executives in the admin building attending high class luncheons about future attractions and park expansion with info that must be kept under wraps, to games employees counting stuffed animals in a shed, to grounds crew workers and random kids cleaning parts in a wash bin for maintenance. Just cause your there in the off season doesn't mean anything. I never claimed to know everything, or nearly everything. I said it was funny to read most of the posts on here, and laugh at them because of the information presented. I will never post information on here that I am not 100% positive about- but I guess that is what makes this a forum. Think of it this way: when you were a kid, I'm sure you'd ask Santa for everything under the sun for Christmas. Half the fun of look forward to Christmas was finding out what he brought you and what went the way of fluff. Same goes with a lot of the information here.
