  1. If it was doomed from day one and the great experiment failed so bad, then why did CBS (Paramount) plan to bring it back for the 2006 season? Cedar Fair were the ones who cancelled it after their acquisition was completed, CBS was advertising it and even selling pre sale tickets. It's difficult to tell what Paramount's plans were for Winterfest in 06. Maybe they were going to change the pricing, maybe they were going to downsize it, maybe they were going to make it bigger and better than ever, or of course, maybe they assumed that whoever the new owners were would have to be the ones to cancel it. Actually, I remember when FF did go free, people were on the message boards upset by the possibility of long lines for Halloween stuff.
  2. Nah, it's going to be really different from Winterfest. Winterfest was doomed from day 1. We can assert that no one went because of the pricing, however the event cost so much to put on that they needed the revenue. It simply wasn't viable to charge $10 per head. Unfortunately, the great experiment was a failure.
  3. Not only that, but they didn't do much with Star Trek in any one of their parks. I know they have the Vegas thing, but that wasn't ever really a Paramount Park in my book. If they had added something to one of the parks (even a similar experience to the Vegas one) I think they could have drawn trekkies from miles around for years on end.
  4. I think you'll find the price for HH for passholders to be pretty fair.
  5. Today (Wednesday) was the last day of the year for most of the marketing staff. Likely you won't see an official calendar announcement until after the new year.
  6. Or of course they could just be trying something new in that market. Not everything they do reacts to some sort of bad numbers. That's a false assumption.
  7. I just remember back in the 90s when that family seemed so wholesome... Yeah, I can't allow this...
  8. That's a half truth.
  9. If you liked that episode, you'll like this. Kings Island spoofed the Brady Bunch episode to promote The Italian Job Stunt Track.
  10. I'm willing to bet a 2010 season pass that it'll be back that year (that should be 4 years, right?). Any takers?
  11. I can assure you that Nickelodeon Universe at Kings Island is here to stay.
  12. I'm guessing you have no idea how much American stuff is in foreign countries...
  13. Yeah Charles... good thing you didn't show up on 080406!
  14. We do really appreciate the loyal KIC members. In fact, it was clear as to who many of you were at KIC Day when the site had its deadest day... EVER!
  15. True, but I wouldn't be shocked if they didn't sell Star Trek the Experience. It brings in some much-needed winter cash flows.
  16. Kennywood's admission is like $15 during the week and $20 on weekends and you can get an all day ride pass for like $5. It's been like that for about 10 years when they started charging $.50 for admission.
  17. Kennywood doesn't... and for good reason too. Let's just say that West Miff isn't exactly the best of neighborhoods.. However, Mary Lou Rosemery did allude to the fact that they're looking into it at the GOCC event.
  18. Yeah... if anyone makes it out there, don't waste your time with Garfield. It's like Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle... but bad... really bad....
  19. The ads are part of our contract with Cox Ohio Publishing. They have nothing to do with the server. Contractually, the ads can't pop up, they can't be offensive, and they can't make noise. Since KIC is completely free, scrolling past a small graphic isn't too much to ask of anyone.
  20. Dane: "Hey Ryan, we really need a dedicated server. Think we should get one?" Ryan: "Sure thing, Dane! You know best!" Yeah, I wish that conversation had happened.
