And again, many thanks for putting on the event. What date can I circle in this here 2008 calendar. Hopefully it won't be a 100 degree August day again. lol

There will be changes to the pass program. Likely the same template will be used, but things will be 'simplified'. More details on that as they develop.

List of Halloween Haunt Attractions and Desc.

Actually, it should flatline money-wise. Per capita spending is a little over $40/head per the last quarter. Having say, 10,000 people pay a small fee as well as their typical spending in the park should equal out to 30,000 miserable people not paying a fee plus their typical spending. -

You're absolutely right. I mean, how much is just ONE haunted house anymore? $15? Also, I think you may have overestimated on one of your figures, Mr. hauntguy. Can't say more. -

I'm telling you people... whatever they do is in the interest of the guest experience. They aren't trying to do the 'ol bait and switch. I understand your frusteration, but again, please wait until you see some photos and read the trip reports before deciding if you're going to pay the upcharge (if there is one). -

I can understand why initially it looks really bad, but trust me, they're doing this for you. They're not just trying to get a couple of extra bucks from their passholders. In the past few years, there have been numerous complaints that peoples' Fearfest experience wasn't what it should be because they had to wait for several hours for different attractions, and they only got to do one or two attractions. This way, you can have a much more enjoyable experience. -

Fearfest was advertised to be free. No one said a word about Halloween Haunt. -

If it's an upcharge (and no one, not KIC, not KI is ready to say whether or not it will be) they will make it worth your time. Trust me, once you start seeing the photos on here and reading the trip reports, you may just change your mind. -

As I said, there is no final decision at this point. Trust me, I am not witholding information from you guys. Anything they do will be in your best interest. It may not sound so pretty to have to drop a few bucks on HH, but don't forget that it's really THAT much bigger this year and the crowds should be a lot smaller! Also, there was a price point from another park mentioned in another thread. If I were you, I wouldn't assume that what happens at another park is necessarily what's going to happen at KI. -

Oh wow... it sure looks like you put some time into that one! Excellent TR! Couple of notes: I noticed that you mentioned the "host" on several occasions. I was the one who did the speal before Endless Summer and hosted the Evening in the Paramount Theatre. Just in case you needed to put a name to a face. Both Don and Josh were really upset about not being able to do the Son of Beast thing. Unfortunately, we had a meeting early in the morning and had to made a decision right then and there, and due to the fact that we weren't certain of the ride's availability, we had to go ahead and cancel it. Josh had already been working on the scavanger hunt at the time, and we decided that it was optimal to do that. I really wanted to do a scavanger hunt anyway, but the harsh schedule dictated otherwise. I'm really glad that everyone enjoyed the Endless Summer part. As you know, the entertainment department, especially Scott, have been incredibly supportive of KIC since day one. I really can't say enough about them. It was really important to me that people got involved in that particular activity and it wasn't until that went well that I felt like the event was going successfully. Probably one of the most awkward situations I was in that day was at the end of the Q&A when I had Don nudging me from one side telling me to wrap things up because we needed to get to The Beast for the tour, and having Scott nudge me from the other side saying that it was going great and that I should let them keep going. Ha... I guess I couldn't really ask for a better situation. As far as the event name is concerned, why bother? It's SO generic in my book now to name an event Beast-whatever... I mean, come on. Think of it in terms of brand extension. You've got KICentral: the site, and KICentral: the event now. We may have some sort of naming contest for it. Some working titles were, "A Mid-Summer Night's SCREAM" but I thought that was so obvious that it had to have been taken, and I really wanted to call it BoddaHfest, but the rest of the staff didn't like that for some reason. har har I was also blown away by the service in the IR. I really had no idea that we'd be eating on anything better than paper plates and plastic forks. They really went all out for us, and I am so grateful for that. The GP being upset about The Beast thing is a situation that we're always running the risk of happening. Some people did jump the fence, and as you stated, I made a quick call to Helbig, and that was taken care of. After wanting to do this event for over three years, I can honestly say it was a dream come true. I can't extend enough "thank you's" to everyone who helped to plan, execute and maintain this event. I also can't say enough to all of you who spent your hard earned money to come to KI and spend the day with us. I'm sure you've heard this before, but the original projections were 30 to 40 people attending... well, we did that within 48 hours. I was really blown away by the response, and I thank you all so much for coming!! Ryan

The spinning seems to come and go every once in a while. From what I understand, when it doesn't spin, there's a good mechanical reason for it.

No, you were right. Cedar Fair owns the intellectual property of "Fearfest". -

I can confirm that Club Blood is not a scenario which is kid-friendly. -
I got word from the park that Drop Zone is now operational.

If it's really THAT much better (which I have faith it will be!) then I would have no problem paying $10-12 for it. -
I see CN's shows as being a LOT more temporary than Nick's shows are... not to say that Nickelodeon shows aren't way too dynamic.

How exactly did you come up with that conclusion? Dont get me wrong, I've been a Skycoaster Site Controller the past 3 years, I know how the ride runs, thats not to say that there are not safer rides in the park, like say, the Carousel. Carousels hurt people every year. Mainly it's rider error, but it still happens.

Not to mention how SO many kids today are familar with HB characters and none of them know who Spongebob, Dora the Exporer, etc are.
