Kings Island Central Announces a Special Event! SOLD OUT
OFFICIAL answers: There have been Tomb Raider: The Ride tours in the past, but there isn't a lot you can see. And what you can see, you're not allowed to take photos of. We're not doing that tour, and you're not missing a lot. We planned on having a scavenger hunt, but the idea was scratched. I have been dying to write a scavenger hunt for years, but this won't be the year. Once you see the agenda.. and how PACKED it is, you'll understand. Oh -- and the pricing is ready It'll be: $16.95 for adults that have a season pass/Maxx Pass/Maxx Pass Plus/Employee ID $42.95 for adults who need to purchase admission to the park & event. Ryan

7/10/07
Stopped by the park for a few hours today. Rode Spongebob, Delirium, Son of Beast, and da Beast. I was with SOB_Tom who's laid up in a wheel chair at the moment due to a knee injury. Many many employees were very helpful with that situation, and yes I did email guest relations with names, rides, times, and locations of specifically helpful employees. Good work, KI!!

Should Disney Buy Cedar Fair?
Actually, I'd like to see a merger of Dick Kinzel's ambition and Walt Disney's dream. IF it worked, it would be utopia.

Kings Island Central Announces a Special Event! SOLD OUT
That's always been the concept of KIC. We don't want your money. We just want to talk KI with people who share in our passion. Different members of the site, and even some people at the park encouraged us to create a coaster club, but we've never been a fan of that. I'd rather you come to our site because you choose to than have you feel as though you are required to pay X-amount of dollars to join a club to pay an additional amount to go to the event. Don't be con-ed into that!

Vote what you want for 2008.
In response to Shaggy's post -- All of those rides look wonderful. The problem being, some of them aren't up to the calibur of KI. I LOVED the Magic Carpet ride at KP, but I don't think CF could pass that off as a hot new attraction at KI. My guess -- a version of Skyhawk to KI. Just a guess....

Should Disney Buy Cedar Fair?
Jessie -- Two years ago, anyone on here would have assumed that Cedar Fair purchasing Kings Island would have been a dream come true. Everyone had visions of giga and strata coasters being built the first year. Of course, this is what it is -- a business. Disney will treat it the same. Will they add a lot to the parks? Certainly. But I wouldn't expect to see Disneyworld Ohio soon.

Kings Island Central Announces a Special Event! SOLD OUT
YES! That's the beauty of it -- we're not a coaster club. We just want to get people together for a good time. Feel free to bring friends and family. Registration will be on PKI.com (once we're set up) and you are required to put in a KIC username. I'd encourage anyone who is going to the event to at least register and introduce themselves.

Kings Island Central Announces a Special Event! SOLD OUT
Good question -- You are given an itinerary upon arrival which is 100% optional. Go to some events, skip others.

Kings Island Central Announces a Special Event! SOLD OUT
That's quite a treat. The sign shop is exactly what the name implies -- they make the signs for the park. However, while back there you can see hundreds of old signs from the days of the past. In fact, that's also where they are constantly doing rehab on carousel horses too. Trust me, it'll be one of the highlights of the day. Ryan

Special Announcement from KICentral coming soon!
The announcement will be made sometime TODAY.

What is the most times you have rode the racer in a day
Topgun, about 30 times on P&G day around '95 or so.

Is 34.99 still the cheapest ticket?
Just remember, if you do decide to upgrade to a season pass, your cedit is only for that day's admission. You can't come back and get it... even the next day.

Special Announcement from KICentral coming soon!
Don't you think that a new ride would be "a new announcement coming from Kings Island" rather than from KICentral? We're not the parks spokespeople, that's why they pay Don the big bucks.

Special Announcement from KICentral coming soon!
No. And I'm loving reading your guesses. Some people are close, but most are just way off. Ok good because it was a nice update but I was expecting something bigger. It is. I'm as excited about making the mystery announcement as you are about hearing it. We're just tying up some loose ends.

Old Screechin' Eagle
As much as I'd hate to admit it, Jack Rabbit is a much better ride than Screachin' Eagle...

What do you think will happen to Cedar Fair?
It wouldn't be too lofty of a business decision to purchase such a large chain and not maintain control of it. I'm guessing they'll sell off some properties they don't need and they'll be fine.

A Step Back in Time at KICentral
...and no, this isn't the big announcement.

Man had a heart attack while in line for Firehawk.
While I see your point about having these at every ride incase another incident like this happens. What many of you don't realize is that no employee can perform any kind of first aid on a guest unless they have been trined to do so by the park. I am not sure if this is still the case or not, but it was under Paramount. I am sure a current employee can let us know if this is still the policy. If someone collapsed in a station, an employee could not perform CPR on a guest, even if they were certified through a babysitting class, high school, etc, unless they were certified by the park. Which means if someone had collapsed, like this person did, they would not be able to do anything except call for help. Basically they just have to stand back and watch and hope that there is a doctor or nurse in line like there was in this case. I know this sounds like a stupid idea to most people. But we are in a day where people sue others over the stupidest of circumstances. All it takes is some 16 or 17 year old to perform CPR incorrectly on someone a maybe break a few ribs and you have a lawsuit. Nevermind that the same kid might have just saved their life by performing CPR, they are going to go after the park. You're 100% correct, however have you seen the newer versions of those things? It has a talking voice prompt which tells you EVERYTHING you need to do. It even detects heart rates, so if the person is reactivated, it'll turn itself off. You litterally just have to put the prods on were the voice prompt tells you to put them and let the machine go to town. Training literally takes about 30 seconds. All you need to know is how to turn it on and how to identify the beeping noise it makes when it needs a new battery. Of course, I'd figure Cedar Fair would want people to practice on dummies, but that's not asking a lot. Maybe make ride sups have the training. This is why they don't have them at every ride: what if someone DIDN'T use it? It would be a great way to sue CF if a person had a heart attack and "no one tried to help him/her and they had the means to help". In a shocking situation, it's hard to think of what to do, so having a device like that hidden somewhere doesn't always come to mind. For the hockey team I worked for last year, we had one in the locker room and the trainer would remind everyone where it is every couple of weeks or so.

Old Screechin' Eagle
Jerry Couch, of Couch's RVs is the owner of the Americana/LeSourdsville Lake property. A lot of the rides are gone, but some remain. Mainly the Log Flume, all 3 coasters, carousel, trains and a few kiddy rides remain. The park really isn't in that great of shape. Like any thrill ride, things can be done to rehab the rides there, but it won't be easy or cheap.
